Limefitt Park has a children's playground, a zip wire (extra fee applies), a football and recreation field and a picnic area. The Haybarn pub is child-friendly. The lodge has a travel cot, highchair, books, games and DVDs. Brockhole Visitor Centre (3.5 miles) and World of Beatrix Potter (4.1 miles) are popular family days out.
For Couples
The lodge is quiet, well-kept and sits in the Troutbeck Valley with fell views from the private decked veranda. The Nespresso machine, comfortable beds and a walk-in en-suite shower add to the appeal. The Mortal Man pub is 0.7 miles away on foot. Windermere, Ambleside and Grasmere are all within a 15-minute drive.
Pet Friendly
Two well-behaved dogs are welcome. Limefitt Park has a dedicated dog walking field and the Haybarn pub has a dog-friendly area. Dogs must stay on leads on the park and cannot be left alone in the lodge. Walks from the park lead directly into the Troutbeck Valley countryside.

Does this cottage have a hot tub?
Ramblers' Rest Lodge does not have a hot tub. The lodge does have a decked veranda with outdoor table, chairs and loungers where you can enjoy the fell views.
Is it pet friendly?
Yes two well-behaved dogs are welcome at Ramblers' Rest Lodge. Dogs must be kept on leads at all times on the park and must not be left alone in the lodge at any point during your stay.
How many guests does the lodge sleep?
The lodge sleeps four guests across two bedrooms. There is a double bedroom with an en-suite walk-in shower and a twin bedroom served by the main bathroom with a bath and shower over.
What is included in the price?
Fuel and power, bed linen and towels are all included. Guests should bring their own leisure towels. A travel cot and highchair are available on request.
What parking is available?
There is off-road parking for two cars directly at the lodge. Commercial vehicles, caravans and camper vans are not permitted on site.
What facilities does Limefitt Park have on site?

What is the nearest train station?
Windermere train station is 3.3 miles from the lodge. From there you can reach the park by taxi or local bus there is a bus stop on site at Limefitt Park.

Electric vehicle charging is not permitted at the lodge itself. The nearest EV charging point is at Booths Supermarket in Windermere, approximately 3.3 miles away.

Ramblers rest was amazing very clean and had everything you needed good shower comfy beds and fully equiped kitchen,the view was lovely looking at the hills sheep roaming around the park a relaxing stay. Recommend eating at the Mortal man 10 min walk from the park. Will definatly be going back.
We had an amazing week at Ramblers Rest and Limefitt Park. The lodge was very comfortable and had many extras such as a fab upright fan very useful in the hot weather. The outside chairs and decking were lovely to sit out on an evening. The site is in a great location.
We absolutely love it here! A home away from home. The bed is so comfy! It smelt so beautifully clean when we walked in. It has bowls and is set up well for our dogs. The site itself is lovely and our children love it at the park and playing in the stream. We will definitely be back!

Lodge spacious comfortable and fully equipped. Even dog bowls supplied. Plenty of hot water and nice shower. We picked the wettest week of the year so far to visit so didnt get to use the outdoor furniture and sit out on the terrace unfortunately. Lovely view out the front window. We had some sheep come and say hello. Very peaceful and friendly site. The only constant sound was the beck. Dog friendly with a dedicated field and river pool. Excellent location for access to and exploring the Lakes. Ample parking next to the lodge for 2 cars.
We have just returned from a one week family stay at Ramblers' Rest lodge. It was warm and welcoming with excellent fixtures and furnishings which were tasteful, clean and well thought out, which gave the feeling that we were home from home. We were very comfortable during our stay and would thoroughly recommend this lodge to anyone in need of a relaxing getaway. The site itself was also superb, really well located to explore The Lakes. Onsite facilities, such as the dog walking park, childrens' playground and picturesque river, we all enjoyed. There were also two fantastic local pubs The Moral Man & The Queen's Head, the food in which were delicious, and only 5 minutes drive from the site. If we were to be extremely picky, some of the glasses were dirty but this was only a minor point. As a family with two dogs, we would not hesitate in returning to this specific property next year.

The lodge is absolutely gorgeous! Good sized bedrooms and bathrooms and storage spaces for clothes. The lounge kitchen area is cosy and bright. In a quiet location however, I did visit when it wasnt half term. Lovely areas to walk your dog around the park and also great for walking outside of the park too. Onside pub which is great and especially good if you can sit outside and enjoy the views. All kitchen stuff is supplied etc the only constructive feedback I have is the cleaners need to pay extra attention to the tops of the lamps as they were dusty a good vacuum around the corners of the floors. Would I stay here again. YES I would for sure! Thank you for having a great lodge!!

Nice and clean lodge equipped with all the basics for a short break. Nice large shower and the bath was a bonus when the dog got muddy! Good location for exploring the area. Very quiet park .
Great place for us to base ourselves from on a family holiday. Well kept lodge with all amenities needed. Very dog friendly and our dog loved his time there running on the balcony. We also got some support from Kate which was very useful. Would definitely return back in the future!

Weve had the best time at Ramblers Rest. The location is beautiful. The park is lovely and quiet with the occasional sheep wandering around and we even spotted a deer! Our children loved the park and we had a lovely meal at the pub. The lodge itself was lovely. It has lots of little home from home touches and the coffee machine was a big bonus. I also liked the cleaning products that were under the sink so I could keep the kitchen and table clean. The location in the lakes is close to so many things and Ramblers Rest was the perfect place to put our feet up after exploring. Our Older Dog Max was living his best life laid out in the sunshine on the veranda! Ive already been pricing up next year and we will without a doubt be back. This place has our hearts!

Very comfortable and clean, we needed to contact the owner during our stay to ask about a torch and candles as the whole area had a power cut she got straight back to us. The lodge is in a brilliant position on the site, the amenities are really good on site and places to visit for drinks and food nearby. We would highly recommend to everyone.
Just perfect. A real home from home. Spotlessly clean. The owners have gone to great lengths to ensure that you have everything that you need. It is very dog friendly. We could not fault our accommodation . The location is brilliant, very close to Windermere and a perfect location for getting around to other places. The site also has everything that you need and is very well maintained. We ate at the onsite pub a couple of times and enjoyed what we had. We would highly recommend this place.
Just home from a very enjoyable stay in Ramblers Rest. The lodge was very well furnished with a super secure decking with outside table, chairs and loungers. Nothing was tired. The lodge was spotlessly clean, with good quality towels a must for me. The site is set amongst glorious countryside with a wonderful recreation field, a real bonus for our football mad boys. Would certainly recommend.
The property was immaculate and very well presented with lovely furnishings and decor. The kitchen was well equipped too with everything you would need for a very comfortable stay. The decking area was spotless and a lovely sun trap. The key fob for the barrier needed replacing as it didnt work but that was a very quick change at reception with no issue. Would definitely stay here again. Great location in a well kept park within a lovely setting. Great with dogs as plenty of areas to walk, including a dedicated dog walking field.

Thoroughly enjoyed our weekend away at Ramblers rest with my daughters and doggy. What a beautiful lodge which was very well kept, lovely & clean and well equipped in an amazing location with fabulous views all around. We arrived at nearly 8 oclock on Friday evening and it was well lit and warm & cosy on arrival. The directions were perfect. No need for a sat nav. Everything we needed & a lovely time was had by all. Thanks

Welcoming cosy property. Cleaning essentials under sink. All the essentials in kitchen. First place we have stayed where we did not feel the need to clean! All the home comforts. Location perfect, good views all around and veranda is beautiful just to sit on and take in views and watch the sheep. Shower excellent. Just a lovely well looked after property. We left it as we found it, quick hoover and wiped floor over, so easy to do. We were worried on arrival as had read reviews about guests being accused of damage. So we did quick inventory took photos of things we found eg ring on coffee table, crack in sink and on floor tiles there were more but not all listed here, I stress these things in no way affected our stay, but we just took that precaution. Left there feeling chilled relaxed rested. Will be booking again. Also key safe excellent

Lovely location and central to everywhere. The on site pub wasnt that nice and overpriced. It seemed to need some updating. Cabin was lovely, with excellent bathroom and kitchen facilities. The beds were so comfy, with excellent quality bedding, we wanted to sleep in! Only downside was that the mugs in the cupboard had ring marks inside, the slate table mats were dirty and the remote control for the TV was dirty and sticky and the cooker hood really dusty. The cute little stool in the living room collapsed as soon as I pulled it towards me to elevate my sore knee, but previous guests may not of flagged this. I managed to screw the screw back in as much as I could with a knife, but it needs attention. I think it would be helpful if there was a an enclosed dog walking section, so that we could let our dogs off lead. Although the park is dog friendly, we appreciated that the dogs needed to be on a lead around the cabins, but the dogs had to be on lead in the dog friendly field zone? Our overall stay was nice and the outdoor chairs comfortable and relaxing decking. Lovely and quite park too and enjoyed the jets going over low in the sky too
Lovely cabin which has clearly being well kept by the owners. Good furnishings. Nice touches like the Nespresso machine make all the difference. Its well located and safe. Fantastic for families. Highly recommended.

We really enjoyed our stay at Ramblers Rest the location was perfect, peaceful and a good spot from which to explore the lakes. The cabin itself was very clean and comfortable with pretty much everything needed for our stay the bed was one of the most comfortable weve ever slept in! It was great to have a pub onsite, serving pretty tasty food, and there are also some other pubs local The Queens Head is a lovely pub serving great food!
The lodge was delightful, we would love to stat there again.

The holiday was brilliant and had a really nice stay, unfortunately the only reason I have rated 7 out of 10 is because sykes have since rang once I arrived home to say we had damaged the sofa providing a picture of a mark that was present already on arrival, even though we have photos to show this was already present. They are trying to take a bond for damages we haven't committed and this has put a cloud over what was otherwise a very pleasant stay.

We have stayed in a number of lodges over the years and this has been the best one. Well furnished, nicely decorated with lots of nice touches, warm and cosy. Kitchen well equipped. Comfy beds.Main bedroom ensuite lovely with good shower. Main bathroom good too. Lovely views due to patio windows front and to the side. Well equipped with garden furniture. Would definitely stay here again.
Rambler's rest, very good and could be made better by attending to patio doors, these are misaligned, lh door looking from inside can be closed and locked with a little difficulty. rh door can be closed but not locked, so the lodge is insecure. plus the windows, inside and out, could do with regular cleaning
