From Bowness Pier you can start an unforgettable day out on the water with Windermere Lake Cruises – board a beautiful cruiser and hop on and off or rent a canoe or a motorboat. Bowness is home to many shops, bars and restaurants too. Fallbarrow has on site bar, restaurant shop, and deli should you wish to stay local to your lodge. There’s a children’s play area, beer garden, picnic area and woodland walks. Further afield, drive up to Windermere village – two miles away, or the bustling market town of Ambleside four miles away. You are only four miles from Troutbeck village at the foot of the Kirkstone Pass which winds its way up over the high fells and then down to Ullswater.
