Daffodils Lodge Reviews

Maggie
We had a lovely stay at Daffodils lodge. Excellent location in the park, just 1 minute's walk from the lake. The lodge was clean, spacious, nice decor and generally comfortable. The kitchen and equipment was clean and well kitted out. My son loved the DVD collection. As it was August it was very hot in the lodge especially at night, having a fan in each of the bedrooms would have been nice. Also I feel the soft furnishings and carpets need a good clean or replacing as they were worn and fusty smelling from over use. Same applies to the bedding and towels as these were a little tired and not great to rely on for a week. Otherwise it was a really lovely stay thank you!
Had a great week in the lodge, already booked next year
It was our first time staying in this lodge and, while we had a lovely holiday, there are a few maintenance and presentation issues that we feel need addressing. On arrival, the lodge exterior appeared quite tired compared to the neighbouring lodges, with the decking and exterior woodwork in need of a fresh coat of paint. Additionally, there was what looked like dried white paint splashed across the front door. Inside, we noted the following maintenance issues in the ensuite bathroom There appears to be a leak between the shower and sink, causing the bathroom floor to sink and feel unsafe. We had to keep a towel down all week to manage the water. There is mould around the bottom of the ensuite shower cubicle and the grouting is heavily discoloured pics are available. On a more positive note, the rest of the lodge was spotless. The living and dining areas were spacious, and the kitchen was well equipped, which made our stay very comfortable.
We have been to this lodge many, many times now and it never disappoints, everything you could need for a perfect break in a beautiful part of the country. Thanks again and we are already booked for a return in September. Gary and Julie.
Our 3rd visit to Daffodils, it's a lovely lodge, a proper home from home, comfortable and well equipt. Location is great, we would recommend definitely.
Excellent siting within Fallbarrow, the lodge was well laid out and very comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped and a pleasure to cook in. Lovely outdoor seating area and decking will definitely book again.
Patricia
Had a good holiday, good weather, great stay. This was our second stay at Daffodils well worth a second visit, look forward to the next one.
Lovely lodge very comfortable Would definitely book again Bedrooms were comfortable. We had a relaxable and happy holiday Thank you
We have stayed at this lodge many times now and it never disappoints. The biggest compliment i can pay is that this visit was extra special as it was myself and my wife's honeymoon. Having married in Gretna Green we couldn't think of anywhere better to be spending such a momentous occasion. Thank you so much, Julie and Gary.
Patricia
This property is one of the best we have stayed in well maintained, very clean and spacious, ideally situated for Bowness, no need to use your car as everything is within walking distance. Will be looking to book in the future. Looking to the future, some higher seating would be better for the older generation like our selves.
Denise
Our 1st stay in this lodge but will definitely be booking again its a beautiful modern lodge equipped with everything you would need and ideally situated on the Lake and in Bowness village and we were lucky enough to take advantage of the decking most days due to gorgeous weather.
This was our second stay at Daffodils Lodge this year and it was only made better by the great weather we had, so we could make the most of the great decked area and outdoor table and chairs. The lodge is clean comfortable and well organised. We'll definitely book again.
This was our 4th time at Daffodils and had another amazing week. The standards have never dropped since our first visit and the lodge forms an integral part of having a wonderful holiday. Already booked another week for September and cant wait to get back. Many thanks Gary
It was our first time at Daffodils Lodge and we had the best time . We have been going to Windermere for many years for day trips and weekend stays but never stayed in a lodge .We most definitely will be staying here again in the future. The lodge is in there perfect area to explore the Lake at Windermere only 5 min walk to it . Plenty to do on the park too the pub food is lovely and my granddaughter loved the park . The nice thing is the park is right on the edge of the Lake and in the evening watching the sunset was magical. The lodge was very homely and very very clean the kitchen was well equipped with everything you need. The living area was very spacious and warmly and the bathroom was very clean. The bedrooms were lovely and the beds are the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in and I loved the walkin wardrobe and the ensuite in the master bedroom was brilliant. We will definitely be back again.
Lesley

Beautiful lodge, been in it a couple of times, the perfect spot for walking to the lake, and taking a picnic. Very spacious, plenty of utensils, on site food and facilities very good. Will definitely be back soon.

This lodge goes onto our list of would book again. Lodge presented nicely and was neat and tidy, even the cutlery drawer. Also the exterior was clean and tidy, which is not always the case with some lodges.
We stayed in Daffodils lodge for a week over the New Year and it was very comfortable, clean and warm. It's in a great location to check out what Bowness and Lake Windermere has to offer or for setting off to visit other places in the Lake District. We enjoyed our stay so much that we have already booked the lodge for a week in the summer.
This was our second visit this year and third overall we had a wonderful week with unbelievable weather and staying in Daffodils truly enhances the experience of a beautiful part of the country. Wouldnt change a thing about the lodge it was an integral part of a fabulous holiday. We love it and will definitely be back again. Thank you
Gordon
I have given Sykes the lowest score we can for accuracy as I have already told you that you cannot describe this lodge as Brand New as we have stayed at this lodge 9 times over the past 15 years, firstly when it WAS brand new with Lakedistrictlodge hols, who I believe Sykes took over, then stayed latterly through Sykes and Park Dean. If you took the trouble to check my account with you, it clearly shows that I used you as agent before. My point here is, how can we and our many other friends booking through Sykes actually believe how you describe a property when you make incorrect and misleading statements. This Lodge is very nice but is at least 16 years old. We have formally asked Park Dean to inform the owners of Daffodils of your incorrect information. We will check that Sykes have corrected this statement and if not, we and the many other people we know who use you will no longer be able to trust Sykes.
Sharon

We had a lovely stay very clean lodge everything you need is provided would book again
Very spacious. ...clean and tidy... Was a honour to stay at Daffodil.
Daniel
On arriving we found the Lodge clean and welcoming. The location is ideal for taking advantage of all that Bowness and Windermere have to offer within walking distance. The welcoming pack also helped provide information on places to visit, also took advantage of the swimming pool at the Health Spa .
A lovely property in an excellent location. Easily the best lodge we have stayed in.
Lovely lodge and a great stay. A couple of small things to sort... the knives are really blunt and impossible to cut anything with could do with a sieve in the kitchen, the colander isn't great for rice! The sofas seem a bit tired and not that comfortable. Everything else was spot on.
Samantha
Another great stay just wish Sykes would go back to 3pm checkins. Well equipped lodge but take your own towels if you like a bath sheet
Andrea

A lovely well maintained Lodge. In a good location within the park. Would definitely recommend to family and friends.
Tannis
We had a great stay at Daffodils as a family of three in October. The property was excellent from the location both on the park and in Bowness on Windermere to the quality of the lodge and its facilities. It was lovely being so close to the water and the town as it meant we could go by foot to most of the things we wanted to do. We will definitely be back!
