Really enjoyed our stay at The Belfry. Location is ideal for a quick walk into Windermere where there are plenty of shops, pubs and restaurants. The property is very well furnished with a very modern feel and the facilities were great. The hot tub was an added bonus. Would highly recommend.

We do love the belfry, but there is a couple of issues that really need addressing, the only way you can lock the belfry from the inside is by a bolt ? ?? I find this astounding, when you leave you use the key as in normal homes, why would you not be able to lock the door from the inside like this just for the sake of the same handle on the inside? we live in a awful world today where safety is paramount the bolt really is not adequate! also there is no bath or shower mat to stop slipping while bathing this is essential to a lot of people! We really do love the belfry, & would be much happier if these two very simple things were addressed, its location is perfect for us, its well equipped with everything you need for a great stay, it could benefit also from a new door mat on the inside & outside, which iam fairly sure the cleaner would also feel the benefit from, because a lot of mud can trail in from the side of the belfry where you park especially if its been raining, I find myself constantly hoovering which I dont go on holiday to do ! Please address these issues because the belfry is a beautiful building in a perfect location!

Really enjoyed our week at the Belfry, the property is in a superb location, with easy walking access to Windermere town and the lake itself. Plenty parking at the property although entry is down a narrow lane so be prepared if you have a large vehicle. The property itself is really nice, with all the facilities you need. Only one maintenance issue with a broken shower door, but it wasn't a major issue. Outside area is lovely and the hot tub a welcome feature after a long day's walk, could do with some sort of comfortable seating outside as we experienced exceptionally good weather when we were there, and wanted to spend most of our time outside. Would be happy to return in future without hesitation.

The property was lovely. Has everything you would need. Love the hot tub really nice to relax in after long walks. Brilliant location and great to have parking at the property. Would definitely recommend

We had a fabulous weekend at the Belfry mainly spent in the hot tub. The house is beautiful, kitchen is well equipped and bedrooms comfortable. We will visit again soon!

The property is very pretty ,comfortable beds, kitchen was well equipped. It well decorated with good parking and easy walking distance to town . The shower room needed a deep clean , hot tub was quite old but was working well .

Great location, walking distance to amenities and hikes recommend walk out to orrest head as right on your doorstep! Well maintained and equipped property, especially appreciated the cleaning pack, extra towels & plastic cups for hot tub and welcome treats including jam and Kendal mints but would have liked at least a spare loo roll to be provided. Was perfect for us over a long weekend, but would have found the place small a little cramped if staying longer, also beware its a narrow driveway into the property, difficult to navigate especially if arriving in the dark.

The lack of cleanliness is very poor in this property and does not match the quality of the accommodation. The bathrooms are getting a basic wipe over however there was alot of scum build up in the shower cubical on the corner and on the base and shows they are not getting a proper clean. The cubicle smells when you run the shower and again it's due to a lack of a proper clean. There are ingrained scum build up around the tap too. The extractor fan is filthy and again is not getting cleaned regularly. There was alot of food in the kitchen larder cupboard from the pervious guests. The pots are so old and need renewed along with the kitchen basin. There is an issue with condensation in one of the bedrooms and there was black mould around the window. The blind pull is rusty due to the condensation and every time you put the blinds up or down you have to wash your hands to get rid of the rust on your hands. The hot tub maintenance come very early. On my first morning Sat they arrived at 7.30am and it woke me up. I think you should tell guests how often they come too. I don't think it's suitable not to be able to properly lock the door. A bolt doesn't feel enough. I've never stayed anywhere where you can't lock the door or with such a low standard of cleaning. Can someone call me to discuss this matter further.

A deep clean required in house. Plastic plants, felt flower pictures in bedroom, handrail covered in dust , Childs sock, pink spatula, tooth pick , crumbs found under sofa. Had to hoover and dust as allergies were set off . It spoilt an absolutely lovely house, excellent location.

Lovely property with great character . Hot tub nice in the winter,Entrance very narrow to property but I managed to squeeze my VW van in. Unusual layout with bedrooms downstairs.Works well for two couples. If being slightly picky mattress felt a bit worn as tend to sag in the middle .Easy access to village as only 5 mins into town .The Crafty Baa a nice pub for New Yesr.

Another fantastic holiday for Christmas in this cottage. So lovely and comfortable and the owner keep on top of anything that needs updating or repairing. Can't wait to return.

Reported just after arriving that the heating was not working. The engineer arrived quite quickly but was just a plumber and knew nothing about the new heat pump that had just been installed so he supplied some electric heaters that worked fine. A second engineer turned up two days later, fiddled with the controls and said it would work after 30 minute and left unfortunately it still didnt work! Hot tub was lovely but was located in a position that was overlooked by other properties and had open access no bolt on gate so anyone could use it while we were out. Neither of the above detracted from a lovely holiday.

Bathrooms need deep cleaning, both are mouldy, moreover the ensuite shower room water was not draining properly. Small bedroom is extra small not sure if you may consider extending it a bit if possible. Throw blanket in the living room needs washing. Otherwise the rest was excellent my family and I enjoyed our stay at the Belfry.

A wonderful property in a super location for exploring the lakes. After an issue with the hot water, the response and problem solving from Lakelovers was extremely quick.

Second time at the Belfry and probably wont be the last visit because its so nice! Good location too easy access to the Lake Districts excellent bus network and trains.

Our Honeymoon, Thank you for a lovely stay in your gorgeous cottage for our honeymoon. It was so clean and well presented, just gorgeous. The hot tub is perfect also, love the personalised hot hub glasses and towels, great location. will recommend your cottage and hopefully be back. The Heppenstalls

This property is not fit for rental and holiday lettings and we were very disappointed by our overall experience. Every room in the Belfry has black mould throughout all windows and frames are covered in black mould, there was black mould on the bed sheets and on the curtains. We were unable to sleep in the main bedroom as there was such a mouldy stench and I have left the property with a stuffed nose. I contacted Sykes who did send out workmen however it was a partial treatment and requires much deeper work and attention to sort the problem. Other issues include the en suite bathroom as it stunk and the drainage didnt work properly. Small things like the 5 bulb chandelier in the main bedroom only had 3 bulbs working, were disappointing. Lastly we were awoken on Friday morning at 730am to a leaf blower outside the bedroom windows which went on for an hour no sleep ins at the Belfry! Overall the property has real potential its nicely decorated, lovely furnishings the table, chairs and couch and its in a great location however the fundamental issues with the property far outweigh any of the benefits. Given the price we paid to stay at the Belfry, it fell well below expectations and the cleanliness alone is enough for me to not recommend it to anyone.

Absolutely beautiful and wonderful place to stay. We loved the location and The Belfry. The hot tub was a super bonus too. We will be back next year.

Superb accommodation in a fantastic location. Easy to walk into Windermere and Bowness as well as easy access to main roads. The Belfry was spotless and comfortable. Lots of information on hand for places to visit as well as how to work the amenities within the house. Hot tub was checked daily by a company, which had no impact on us. Hot tub was great, loved the timed fairy lights too. Great for bat and owl watching. We would 100 consider coming here again.

A fantastic property in a great location. Amazingly equipped more than enough of everything and very good quality items like Denby crockery and decent bedding. We loved it thank you so much. Only possibly improvement something to reach the windows when your short to open them.

The property was fitted out to a very high standard and was very attractive and comfortable. One of the best cottages that we have stayed in.

Gorgeous Cottage in a lovely quiet location with everything you need. Only thing missing was a dressing table and mirror, which is essential for women, especially when there for a week.

The Belfrys location is great just a short walk into Windermere town which has great amenities we recommend The Crafty Baa and The Lamplighter Dining Rooms. The property is finished to a very high standard and the kitchen is well equipped with everything we needed during our stay. The beds are very comfortable with quality bed linen and towels provided, including for the hot tub which we made good use of. The only minor issue is the very narrow entrance to the property the solution was to turn the car wing mirrors inward to avoid problems. We have already recommended The Belfry to our friends.
