Fantastic cottage. Wonderful location and we had a great holiday. 2nd time and will visit again.

We had a brilliant stay at Postmasters House, made all the better by the glorious weather that we had. The property oused character, was decorated very tastefully, and was everything we wanted from a holiday cottage. The bed was really comfy, although the pillows were on the flat side. We loved the seating area out the front, the sun shone down on it in the mornings. We enjoyed watering the pots there too. Would certainly stay again.

We had the most fantastic time! The location of house is perfect everything on your doorstep! The house layout is great, the shower was invigorating after long days walking. The house has every comfort you need and more! We had the best week of weather and I can say hand on heart that this was one of the Best holiday experiences we have had!

We recently spent a week at the property and loved it. We found the description was accurate and enjoyed the fact that it was in the town. Had everything we expected and our daughter enjoyed playing with some of the games that were available. The beds were very comfortable, although we did find the duvets much too heavy for summer! We had a wonderful stay and would happily return. As for a few points and suggestions, We found the front door slightly tricky to unlock. Also, because of the age of the property and the uneven floors, an extra door stop would be handy, particularly for the dining room door. There was no hand soap in the kitchen or bathroom so although we came prepared for most things, we did have to buy hand wash for both sinks. The parking at the front of the house was a little frustrating due to being used by a lot of blue badge holders who sometimes blocked access to the small parking space. Overall though, a wonderful cottage and great location.

A beautiful property, clean and cozy, and right on the doorstep to Windermere town centre. A comfortable, bright and well decorated space with extremely good bedsmattresses, great wifi and smart tv. An excellent, convenient spot for those who rise very early and come home to relax after a long day out exploring the Lakes. We found no issues with the house, apart from not being able to fill the bath with hot water as it ran tepid throughout. All other taps and shower were perfect. Bear in mind that 'practical' provisions are very, very sparse we had to purchase our own kitchen foil, I don't think there was a radio or a hairdryer. The attic bedroom is lovely, although bear in mind there are two solid low set beams running just above the beds. If you are looking for a quiet cottage I would give this some thought as delivery vans, taxi's and visitors fill up the road only a few feet from the door through much of the week, and our stay was only in the low season. This can create a lot of noise and impact throughout the morning and afternoon. We booked it because we thought there would be a back bedroom, but it is on the side facing a very busy square and resident's car park with a lot of revving under the window as cars try to exit a narrow space. If you love the sound of hustle and bustle and don't mind some road noise this is a very lovely house which is very peaceful in the evening and through the night!

The postmasters house was perfect accommodation. The layout of the house was excellent and the furnishings were all heavy oak which made our stay so much more comfortable as we weren't worried about our toddler pulling furniture on himself while he cruised about. The beds were so comfortable and my wee girl just loved the attic bedroom, she is still talking about it! We had car trouble during our stay and Sykes cottages were extremely accommodating arranging an extra night's stay. It's just a lovely house in an ideal location. It might be my favourite holiday accommodation ever.

The Postmasters House is absolutely beautiful. The owners have taken a lot of care with the property and everything you need for your stay is there a home from home! Location could not have been better... everything is on the doorstep!! We had a fantastic week thank you!

We loved our stay at The Postmasters House. It was exactly as described and was a home from home. So quiet even though it was a just a min walk from Windermere Main Street. Our two little ones loved their stay too! We will definitely be back.

Lovely home, beautifully, tastefully and lovingly decorated to a high standard! The kitchen trash had not been emptied on arrival which was noted but not a big deal. Wonderful and quiet location. We appreciated the parking very much.

What an amazing gem The Postmasters house has been for our first family break for a couple of years. Its in such a perfect location being able to step out of the front door into the hustle and bustle of Windermere or take a drive to drink in all the breathtaking views to be had! We will definitely be returning hopefully when the weather decides to be kinder x
