We really enjoyed our stay in Honeysuckle Cottage. It is in a quiet location in the heart of Bowness with ample 2 car private off road parking. It is a cosy, clean, warm, comfortable and well equipped stone cottage. We would stay at Honeysuckle Cottage again if we came back to Bowness.

We have stayed at Honeysuckle Cottage, Bowness on Windermere for a number of years, and always have a wonderful time in this cozy, homely cottage. Its perfect for a family, and has plenty of living space downstairs, with a utility areacloakroom, well planned galley kitchen with everything you need, a family dining living room and a large reception room for quiet moments. We love the quiet front garden, and often used the outside dining space for breakfasts or evening drinks. Its a fantastic base from which to explore the Central Lakes, and, having car parking for 2 large cars is a real bonus so close to Lake Windermere. The cottage is within a short walk of Lake Windermere, great restaurants, Lake cruises, attractions etc. There are several walks that start from the cottage itself, which we do regularly like Biskey Howe and Post Knott. Brockholes has become a firm favourite for Zip wire thrills and affordable kayaking. We have always arrived to a clean, comfortable cottage with a welcome pack for that first cuppa when you arrive. The hosts are really kind and responsive, if ever we have needed to contact them or their agents, minor issues have been dealt with swiftly. Nothing is too much trouble. The water pressure in the shower is amazing, and the WiFi is fast and reliable. Thank you for sharing Honeysuckle Cottage with us, its a real home from home. Well be back next year hopefully.

If you like spiders this cottage is for you. Every room contained spiders and webs. The bath didn't drain during a shower and the bath creaked while in use. The bathroom could do with a complete overhaul, the toilet seat wasn't even secure or stay open. The cottage is in real need of decorating and a deep clean to brighten it back up.

Amazing from start to finish. Ideal location close to amenities just a short stroll to the lake lots of lovely places to eat. Everything you need for a fantastic holiday with all the homely comforts.

Myself and friend had a wonderful stay at Honeysuckle cottage. It was spacious, clean and comfortable with an outside garden to sit when the weather was nice. The kitchen was well equipped, everything you needed for making a meal. 2 living rooms, but we only used the snug with the log burner. We did use the log burner which was nice, you have to take own logs and lighter matchers. Beds are very comfortable we slept really well. The parking space for 2 cars which was very handy. We parked the car up and didn't use it until it was time to go home. The cottage is in a great location. Close to shops, restaurants and pubs. I would definitely recommend and go back to this cottage again.

Lovely cottage in a great location, very short walk into Bowness. Well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds. Bathroom adequate, but an extra toilet would be an advantage either way up to 6 people staying.

This was our 4th visit to Honeysuckle and no doubt it will not be the last. Our car never moved until we left for home. Very clean. Good bus services and very good eateries in Bowness. The cottage was very hot at times but you could counter that by turning the temp down on thermostat in the hall. Perhaps a tv guide for the tv in the front lounge could be made for those who do not understand a digital tv. We were fine with it but less techy people may struggle. If you want to have a real fire you are required to take your own wood etc.

A perfect cottage in a fantastic location. It is central to all the amenities in Bowness, everything is literally on the doorstep. All though just being off the main road means it is also very quiet .The cottage has everything you need for a self catering holiday and the snug was perfect with the electric fire on the one cold, wet day we had. The heating had been put on a timer which made our stay warm and cosy .

First of all I must say the bed lining towels etc were lovely fresh and clean the bed was also comfy. Sorry then things were not so good the whole place is ready for a complete overhaul decorating etc all skirting boards were covered in dust and the seal around the bath is disgusting and needs replacing as it is mouldy and when showering the bath dose crack and creek a worry that its going to crack completely then the damage charge of the 350 would be implemented very disappointing as we hoped for a cute cottage stay.

The cottage is in an ideal position, just a short walk from the lake, with all amenities at a very close distance. The cleanliness of the cottage was excellent, with all the expected cooking facilities and parking for two cars, which is essential for Bowness. The only facility missing is adequate wardrobe space, as the rooms are small, only one wardrobe for the three rooms, and the others have a few coat hangers on the doors or the wall. Overall, I would highly recommend this cottage to any family, as the price was reasonable for its proximity to the lake, restaurants, cafes and food stores.

Great cottage, great location well fitted out and equipped well. As a self catering cottage a cupboard in the kitchen for storage of food would have made a big difference and the toilet seat daily fight to stay in up position were the only 2 downsides to this property and they are being picky!! A great holiday and would definitely book this again

Lovely homely cottage, right in the heart of Bowness with shops, pubs, restaurants and the lake all in easy walking distance. Two private parking spots is a bonus. As has been commented before, the property would benefit from another WC and more storage space for the second and third bedrooms. Also the sofas in the sitting roomdiner are very tired. The patio area is a real suntrap. We found the property fine for 4 adults.

Great location but would question 6 people no storage and 2nd double bedroom not suitable for 2 people bed far too big for the room. Although had everything we needed very dated. needs updating Bathroom needs overhauling and would benefit from 2nd loo. why provide a dvd player with no dvds ? a smart tv would be much better especially as the weather is changable. Tv in dining room didnt work. No patio table, shown on photos but missing, which was a shame as the weather for first half of week was amazing and would have been nice to use this area. Would go back to the area but not this cottage.

Cottage is quaint. Car parking is a challenge daily.... reversing into and driving out of allocated space can be tight if cars or vans parked opposite. Steps down to the cottage are slate so can be a little slippery when wet. If you are vertically challenged like me then the steps are quite deep. Once inside the cottage the only 3 things niggled us are that the stair carpet on the inside turn at the top needs tightening up as a little saggy on edges of steps so you need to stick to the wall side or you can slip off the edge of the stair if trod on the toilet seat still needs attention!!!!! hubby spent the week holding the seat up as the cistern could be doing with being more narrow and then the seat would lean back enough to stay up on it's own and finally the mattress in the main double bedroom is starting to dip in the middle of each side where they have been sat on over time we found we tended to slideroll to the edge of the mattress. Otherwise the cottage is perfect for a holiday home we had a great week even if the weather was changeable. The Lake District never fails to supply a great holiday. We will be back if the niggles are sorted.

This cottage is in a great location so close to all amenities in Bowness. Good parking, plenty of soft towels provided and generally very well equipped. The blinds could do with a clean, and the toilet seat requires attention so it stays up 3 males in the family, and this has been mentioned in reviews before, and its still an issue, but apart from those items, it was great.

Everything we needed in this lovely little cottage. Very clean and tidy. A short walk into town and the bus stop at the end of the road, if you don't fancy driving. Definitely recommend.

Good morning The only two slight things were the coffee table was very sticky not sure what it is cleaned with. The other was the toilet seat my partner had to hold onto the seat as it would not stand up alone I would advise a soft closing one that stands up. Great for us as a couple but not a lot of storage if 6 people were staying not a lot of room round one of the double bedrooms. Positives lovely cosy cottage very clean lovely large bathroom beds were very comfy and in a perfect position in Bowness.. Everything was provided for cooking. Lovely cosy cottage, excellent facilities and excellent location for amenities in Bowness. The space in the smaller double bedroom was very tight but that was in the information. Only other issue was the very slippy flagstones at the front of the property. We had a great New Year and would like to recommend Rastellis restaurant.

Had a lovely stay in September at Honeysuckle cottage. Was so convenient in Bowness on a side street just off the main road with parking. It was such a quiet location and yet within a few steps close to the cafes, restaurants and walk down to the lake. Cottage was lovely and cosy perfect for our stay.

Nice cottage in a good location , parking was useful as really busy , bathroom a little dated , the cleaning of the property wasnt great ,lots of spiders webs found , sticky work surfaces and tables but i think was down to the covid cleaning products used , leather look settee was in poor condition but apparently is due to be replaced this week , bedrooms a little small and very little storage in bedrooms .

The property was very clean and well equipped. It had everything we needed. Having parking was a huge benefit. We loved the two living areas, great if you want to watch different things on the TV. The second double room is very small. A small improvement would be to provide details of a selection of walks and a list of restaurants etc. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, thank you. Ps My son loved the snuggly blankets in the twin room, to wrap himself up in downstairs.

Firstly the cottage is in a great location right off the main street of Bowness and also benefits from private parking. It has everything you would need to make your stay comfortable. There is not much room around the beds but this is mentioned in the description. I think the bathroom needs a little bit of TLC but overall I would return.

Lovely holiday

Honeysuckle cottage is a fantastic bolthole for a holiday in the lakes. The cottage is cosy, comfortable and well equipped. It was spotless when we arrived and clearly well cared for. It's central location in the town means lots of restaurants, shops and the lakeside is within walking distance. A fantastic base from which to explore the area. The only slight disappointment was that we were advised no travel cot was available at the property when I rang the number provided on the listing. However, on arrival there was a travel cot in situ. This could have saved us some space in the car on the journey up from South Wales.

A great place to come back to and curl up in front of the log fire after a long walk on the fells. Very cosy and clean. Great location

The only issue we had was the check in and out times, even with the pandemic we feel there should be a little more flexibility, for example there were no bookings the days before and after our stay, so in instances like this there should be the option to a slightly earlier check in and or later check out. Other than that Great cottage, great bookings services and great stay!!

Lovely house and its closeness to Bowness was brilliant. The house is ideally situated for getting around, we only used the car twice in a week. We got the ferry to Ambleside and the bus to Grasmere both from Bowness. We had a brilliant week and would definitely stay here again.

Cottage is situated in the middle of Bowness it was great for me and my wife, it's listed as a 6 person sleeping cottage not true, only 1 small wardrobe nothing in bedroom 2 and 3 you can't even get round one of the so called double beds in one of the rooms, you would be very disappointed if you booked 6 adults, not so if you had two small children. Great for parking. I would book it again but only for the 2 of us.

What a super place to stay and so close to the local shops. The cottage was beautiful and well will presented with all the facilities we needed. We liked how the heating was timed for in the morning and early evening so we weren't worried about coming back to a cold house after a long day out. The neighbours were also very friendly and quiet. Will definitely stop again!!
