The Grange Lodge Reviews

The Grange Lodge is truly beautiful, and the interior decoration is even more appealing than in the photos. But it is not just about aestheticswe felt very comfortable inside, especially after a long walk. The lodge is very close to Windermere, a charming town, and the bus stop for reaching the main lake area is just three minutes from the house. The owner also provided a great deal of helpful information, which made our stay very easy. It was one of the most beautiful vacations we have ever had

The cottage was just perfect for us. True to advertised it was spacious and well equipped. The comfort of the beds was a big highlight as a good sleep is everything, the bedding felt high quality. We enjoyed planning our days sat around the kitchen table. And my son loved a hot bath after some long walks. Location was absolutely stunning, with easy access to walks and the town. Off the main road u were in a sanctuary of peace with stunning views. Would highly recommend this property to anyone. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

What a fabulous place. We are lucky to have found it. The owners obviously love the place as it is very well cared for. Wonderful lounge with a hugh window overlooking the super large garden. All bedrooms were exellent with plenty of bathrooms and the property was very spacious. Loved all the old wooden furniture. Lots of books and games to choose from. Quiet area with no road noise just the birds. The position of the property is in the old part of Windermere which has lots of old paths to other areas of Windermere, great it you like walking. Also loved the position of the property due to access to the buses going to the various villages in the lakes. Would love to visit again.

The Grange Lodge is a very comfy home from home. A very well equipped property with stunning views, easy to use appliances and plenty of space for 6. Would highly recommend. Owner also very helpful with local information.

This house is lovely! Spacious and light, but manages to be cosy as well. Great location easy walk into town with comfy beds and nice bedding and towels. The house is a home from home. We had a great family get together here it worked really well for us. It is peaceful and we had great weather so we enjoyed the garden and view as well. Judith was very helpful and gave us some good information. We would love to return.

Lovely cottage but even better garden. Close proximity to BownessOnWindermere walk of around 30 minutes as well as shops and pubsrestaurants around 10 minute walk. Was a great location for great walks in Windermere, Grasmere and Ullswater. Cottage was well appointed and comfortable for the 6 of us.

A lovely property. Very well equipped, comfortable and clean. We chose it because there was a ground floor bedroomwalk in shower for my elderly mother. The view from the lounge was stunning, all the rooms beautifully furnished and the beds were so comfortable. Windermere shops and restaurants just a stroll away and the lake twenty minutes walk or so, and there's a bus stop nearby. Highly recommend.

The location was fantastic and within easy reach of the lake and the town centre. Beds were comfortable and the kitchen well equipped.

Accommodation was gorgeous. Lots of nice touches from a welcome pack to lovely vegan toiletries. Owner was immediately in touch when we arrived to offer tips on local walks, places to visit and promoting local produce and businesses. Directions to property were very accurate and helpful.

Grange Lodge was lovely , however the TV was a problem as a message kept coming up when we tried to use it that there was a faulty dish on the TV which caused it cut out and most of the time to be unavailable . Given it was Christmas this was a big issue as we could not watch tv programmes . Other than that it is a gorgeous place ,brilliant location and very comfortable

The owners Judith and Timothy were very helpful and accommodating, we stayed at their other property Grange 4 years ago, and both properties are excellent. With a home feeling and very comfortable, with great views out and over the huge garden, we really enjoyed our stay, and would certainly recommend it to other guests. With only a short walk, less than 5 min into the heart of Windermere Town, and bus stops only a 2 min walk away into Bowness or Ambleside, gave us the opportunity to enjoy a nice meal and drink in many of the restaurants and pubs nearby. 10 out of 10.

Our 2nd time staying at The Grange Lodge and once an again we had a lovely week in The Lakes. It has everything you need and a perfect location. Tucked away off the main road, but only a short walk to the shopsbars and short walk to the lake. Would highly recommend.

Grange Lodge was a lovely property to stay in for our holiday and was well situated for a walk into Windermere.

The Grange Lodge was wonderful. As soon as we arrived it felt like home. We are a family of 5 and it was extremely spacious, comfortable and very clean. The views from the lounge were spectacular and the garden was a joy. The only possible feedback would be that the fridge space was slightly limited, but we shopped from the local supermarket every day, called Booths, and it didnt bother us. The owners were very attentive and communicated well when we asked questions. We walked to Windermere most days and to the pier. The town itself is quaint and very pretty. We drove out to other towns for walks and gift shopping. It rained most days but it didnt get in the way of the enjoyment of Windermere and Grange Lodge. We would love to come back.

The Grange is a lovely place everything you need great location . The only thing we missed was a egg slice which is such a small thing .Judith was brilliant giving us a lot of information about the area .

We had a wonderful week at this beautiful location. The Lodge has fabulous views towards lake Windermere, was immaculately clean and was within walking distance to a variety of walks, and the centre with its various cafes, restaurants and pubs. Tillys was great Bus service is extensive. Tons to do in the area, lakeland segways and go ape at Grizdale recommended. The owners were happy to make recommendations in the area and were on hand if we needed them. Would highly recommend this property.

Absolutely fabulous even the weather was perfect!

Pictures dont do it justice as is was a fabulous place to stay. Although within walking distance to the town and just off the main road you would think you are in the isolated country. The house had everything and although advertised as a 2 bathroom had 4 toilets and 3 showers along with a deep bath. Would certainly recommend and would stay here again

Grange Lodge is a very comfortable and well equipped property with good sized rooms situated just a short distance from the centre of Windermere. Despite the close proximity to the town, the house and excellent garden had the feel of a quiet rural location with the garden being a great asset in the summer. Unfortunately for us, our November visit saw more use of the easy to use wood burner than the garden, making our stay very cosy and memorable.

My sister and hausband were bck in England from Aus for their 50th and they were in awe of the Grange. As soon as you walk in wow. It was relaxing and perfect for anywhere in the lakes. Thank you

The whole stay was wonderful. The lovely house, location, company and beautiful weather. Would definately recommend Grange Lodge to family and friends. It was spacious, relaxing and very well equipped for all our needs.

Lovely accommodation with beautiful garden, ideally located for walking into Windermere and to the lake. Bus stops nearby for travel further afield without using the car. Kitchen well equipped for cooking and plenty of books and games for wet weather days.

Lovely cottage,ideal location. ..short walk into Windermere and down to lake...2 rooms with shower room downstairs & one with bathroom on ground floor ideal for someone with limited mobility....cottage has everything you would need very well equipped and owners very helpful

We love the Grange lodge and have been coming for over 10 years. Comfortable, excellent facilities, amazing views, close to Lake, mountains and amenities. Thankyou Judith for making us feel so welcome and all the helpful tips. We really appreciated the welcome gifts.

Another great stay in this lovely cottage. Typical British Summer weather did not affect our stay as the property provides such a comfortable and relaxing environment. So convenient for public transport, walking and shops

Perfect, as always

The cottage was very clean and comfortable. Well equipped kitchen and toiletries provided, which was more than what we expected. It was a short walk to the centre of Windermere and the lake. 40 minutes walk to the centre of Bowness. Altogether a lovely cottage to relax in with plenty of space for the whole family.

Beautiful, spacious, homely, well equipped and comfortable bungalow with a log burning fire which we did not use as the gas central heating was good enough to heat the house. 3 showers, a bath, 4 toilets and a washer and dryer, perfect for a family of 5. Close to all shops,the train station, visitors centre and perfect for local walksOrrest head nearby is an easy walk and can go further once at the top, this was recommended by the owner. Would also recommend Golden Mountain Chinese restaurant and The Little Chippy Takeaway just a short walk away from The Grange.

Just returned from a lovely week in the Lakes staying at the Grange Lodge in Windermere. A great location to stay , just a short walk in to Windermere. The house was clean and so well equipped with everything you will need and more. The beds were very comfy. The garden space is great, shame we couldnt use it more due to the weather. The shower room downstairs was excellent. Overall a gorgeous house. Will 100 be returning in the future . Thank you

We had a fabulous time at Grange Lodge. We found the accommodation outstanding and loved the stunning views and tranquility. Very spacious, well equipped & tastefully decorated providing a lovely homely feel. We visited with our family & friends from USA who absolutely loved this place! We were blessed with perfect weather and would 100 recommend, we most certainly hope to return in the future!
