Riverside Reviews

I can't think of any improvements but just to say the property met our needs and exceeded expectations. For a party of seven adults and a toddler the layout of the property worked brilliantly as well as being very conveniently located. Loved the field of sheep at the end of the drive!

Very nice property, tucked out the way and private. Very warm and very comfortable beds. Sky tv and Netflix for settling down at night. Kitchens very well equipped and nice views. Overall, a very relaxing house with some lovely walks on the doorstep. The Old Post Office in Troutbeck, serves up some beautiful food and home made fare to boot, sitting beside an open fire, well worth a visit.
Stunning location, beautiful inside . The perfect setting for our multi generational family get together.
Melanie
A stunning locations and lovely property. Well equipped kitchens and plenty of space for the whole family to spend time together. Would recommend and hope to come back again.
Beautiful property. Glorious setting, comfortable and well equipped. Clean and well stocked. Well maintained, kitchen cupboards a little wonky. Would definitely book again.
Beautiful week at Riverside with our family. Cottage was clean, comfortable and the views were to die for. So peaceful and relaxing. Our girls loved waking up to the sheep every morning and made up a story about Tina the Trout that lived in the river! She was a cheeky trout though who kept leaving notes everywhere! It was magical for them! The cottage itself had everything you needed for a comfortable week, well stocked kitchen, lots of space and ample amenities like soap and toilet roll! The terraces were lovely and we enjoyed coffee in the mornings and wine in the evening depending on where the sun was! Great base to visit the Lakes, only comment would be for a folder or bigger information sheet about what there is to do in the area. It didnt matter too much to us as we know the Lakes well but might be helpful for families that havent visited the area as much. We did a lovely couple of walks, Rydal Caves and Stock Ghyll force. Visited Sizergh Castle and Grizedale Forest. Had some lovely meals in The Mortal Man and The Queens Head in Troutbeck.
An outstanding property with fabulous amenities perfect for multiple families. It had everything you needed to make it home and the surroundings were idyllic.
Beautiful house gorgeous surroundings. Everything you need . Easy access to bowness and Windermere. Will definitely return thank you .

Fairytale location with all the comfort and amenities that you could possibly need! I absolutely love being in a cozy cottage with stunning views and this property was my dream come true! A big thank you to the owner for sharing with us this amazing place!
Wonderful stay at Riverside with the family! Beautiful property & setting for a multi generation Lake District holiday! Very clean and everything you need in the kitchen! Lots of fridge and freezer capacity! Lots of activities nearby walks, mountain biking, boating, steam railway, pub lunches, Town End National Trust house, Low Wood Bay Spa! We all had a lovely stay thank you so much!
A lovely property in beautiful surroundings and in a wonderful location. The property has three double bedrooms and a large 3 x beds bedroom ideal for young children.
We have stayed in this property numerous times now and it is perfect for a family holiday and is set in a beautiful location with a sense of isolation, yet still close enough to walk to local amenities. We are looking forward to our next stay!
Matthew
Superb cottage in a lovely location, love the river and space around, views are stunning from the top of the drive and its just a few minutes from Windermere. Will stay here again if we do the lakes again.
Beautiful house and location, peaceful, very comfortable, clean. Met the sheep farmer who keeps a herd in the grounds. V informative. Probably dont bother bringing your fishing gear as he hadnt seen any fish in the river for some years now. Didnt stop me having a cast though!
Belinda
If there was a compost bin we would have used it. beautiful property and very well kept. glad no one was afraid of sheep, maybe some steps cut into the river bank would give safe access to the stream and stepping stones .beautiful views, and great location for accessing bus routes, and amenities. would defiantly be happy to stay again.
Lovely house and great holiday. No negatives except it would be nice if the photos showed that there is a house that overlooks you when you're sitting on the front patio but this didn't spoil our holiday.
We had a fantastic stay in this wonderful location! So very relaxing, with the open space in front of the house and wildlife roebuck? I guess and owls, the two sitting areas outside, the steam right beside the property. We found everything clean, spacious and very well equipped. Just a short drive fom Ampleside and the lake Windermere, close to activities and attractions. We highly recommend Riverside and also thank Lakelovers, who provided us with all necessary infos regarding our stay. Looking forward to coming back! Karin, Austria
7th time we have stayed at the same place. Enough said.
Amazing property in a fabulous location. The open space in front with the sheep, lambs and foxes was brilliant entertainment for the kids. The kids equally loved splashing in the stream. The location is ideal with easy access to the lake 5min drive away where we swam and SUPd and Ambleside just a short drive away for cafes, restaurants and take aways. Would highly recommend!!
Jonathan
Great family week in a beautiful house. Very comfortable, clean and well equipped for 8 people. Lots of space inside the house to accommodate a large group. Front field of sheep great to wake up too. Stream river in full flow following a week of heavy rain so no water play or field play. The cottage has a steep driveway from the Troutbeck lane. Was slippy in heavy rain. An excellent stay. Thank you.
Excellent location which is close to many fabulous walks. The property is fabulous, being spacious inside and with extensive sitting areas if the weather is good. Perfect for a large group.

We all had a brilliant week, which does not mean that all was perfect. the property, while we loved it, has a very tired kitchen and really needs a proper swing bin rather then the present inadequate provision. Our party was an extended family group comprising 3 households which made it very difficult as there are just 2 sets of keys enabling the opening of the 2 sets of electric gates so that some running backwards and forwards had to take place in the event that we all left separately the 1'st gates are some distance from the property . As there is only 1 shower and all 8 of us would rather shower than bath there were some logistical problems. Having said that we all agreed that we would book this property again without hesitation. The lounge living dining areas are super and the aspect wonderful.
Raymond
The family really enjoyed our second trip to Riverside it is just as beautiful as we remembered. It provided us with luxury accommodation and the most relaxing setting you could wish for by the lovely river. It has everything you need to ensure you have a fabulous holiday and will leave you with many happy memories.
Riverside provided us with first class accommodation and a wonderful idyllic location. It was beautifully equipped to a very high standard and the expansive grounds and outdoor spaces were perfect for both adults and children alike. Everyone agreed it was somewhere we would all love to return to.
The house was in the most amazing setting and central to any activities. It was spacious, clean, very well equipped.. just perfect
