Mere View Reviews

A truly great property with excellent views over Windermere and the hills beyond. Spotlessly clean and well eqipped with generous parking for 3 cars so no squeezing into tiny gaps. It was a few minutes walk into Bowness town with it's picturesque waterside views and amenities. We found the large bed to be comfortable and the wide balcony around 3 sides of the house enabled us to make the most of the late September sunshine. RAF Eurofighters flying up the valley at tree top height was an added attraction. The property is a credit to it's fastidious owners and somewhere I'd consider returning to.

Mere View is a stunning property, situated in a quiet area of Bowness but within walking distance of the main shopping and eating area. The views from the living area were amazing, as was the wrap around balcony. There is plenty of space for everyone and everything that we needed was available. We would definitely recomnend this property as the perfect base for a Lakes holiday.

We love staying at Mere View. It is clean, comfortable and very well equipped. It is near shops and restaurants and the lake.

Christine

This is an absolutely stunning property and the photos on the website do not do it justice. Stepping upstairs into the loungekitchen and onto the balcony was fantastic. It has such wonderful views and it was difficult to come away. The equipmentutensils in the kitchen are amazing there is everything available and in abundance. The house is ideally situated and there is very little need to use your car once you are there. The only slight negative is that the house wasnt clean to a high standard. Every room had dust, cobwebs and spiders webs which were very visible and easy to spot. This could have been done. There was quite a bit of bird droppings on the balcony which looked like it had been there for a while this was again easily cleaned up. I noticed that the housekeeping has recently changed hands and it might be something that needs checking. We had a fantastic stay and the weather really helped. I could look at those views all day!

Another fantastic stay at your beautiful house! Everything is provided for a comfortable stay and the private parking is a wonderful bonus. As everyone says, the views from the upstairs lounge are to die for I could sit and watch them all week. The house is so close to all amenities that you dont need to use the car ferry and local bus!. There are plenty of shops and restaurants close by and a beautiful walk down to the pier to watch the world go by. I will definitely be booking for next year if I can get in.

Great stay at mere view everything you need in a property well equipped kitchen 2 large living rooms great views from the top floor balcony plenty of parking for 4 cars in a fantastic position in bowness a few minutes walk into the shops and restaurants just one observation could do with bigger TVs in the bedrooms but all in all a brilliant holiday we have booked again for November.

Stephen

A very comfortable accommodation, well maintained, great amount of kitchen equipment and a balcony with excellent outdoor furniture where you can comfortably sit and admire the amazing views.

First impressions dont do it justice, as the interior is very good. Its comfortable and well equipped with everything you need. The views are amazing, and the location couldnt be better for the town. Communication with Gary was spot on, and we even received a welcome gift, which was a lovely touch. Parking was also good, which was an added bonus. We wouldnt hesitate to stay again.

Mere View has everything you could want for a break in the Lakes, perfect positioning in town, good access to all the local attractions but still in a quiet area. Lovely views across the lake and fells, off road parking is good and a well stocked kitchen. Plenty of local restaurants, pubs and cafes can be found within walking distance. All in all the perfect Lake district retreat.

Another great stay at mere view we love this property as it is so close to the shops and restaurants in bowness just a 5 minute walk from the property. The living area upstairs is just a wow when you see those beautiful views of the lake and the mountains amazing only one negative the mattress protector on the un suites bedroom upstairs is really stained and needs replacing. We have booked mere view again next year as we love the property and its position so much.

Kenneth

A great property. Have stayed here numerous times, and it never fails to impress.

Amanda

Absolutely loved our stay at Mere View. Very well equipped with everything you could need for a break. The house is beautiful and the extra little decorations make it feel comfy & homely. The views from the balcony are spectacular even in Storm Amy. Excellent location so near to shops & restaurants, with the much sought after parking. Will definitely visit again.

Glenys

Our second visit to Mere View and it did not disappoint. Lovely home from home, central to Bowness and all amenities. Will definitely be booking again.

Tracey

Love love love!

Philip

This property has SO many benefits! It really is home from home and location is superb, a 10 minute walk from the busy centre but just far enough out to be peaceful. The house is beautifully decorated it is very clear that much love has been put into this & the experience the owners would like guests to have. The views from the balcony are superb, the sky changing from moment to moment. We were lucky enough to see any jets fly by whilst sitting there. The beds are comfortable, the showers powerful & the towels are big & soft. We were grateful for the ground floor lounge in the heat. Little things like the Alexas and the multipoint chargers by the beds were appreciated. The builders are next door, however, they were very considerate and communicative at all times. We will highly recommend Mere View to our friends and family!

Victoria

The holiday home was very comfortable. Perfect for a family holiday. The balcony was lovely and the short walk into town was just right. On a side note, we were disappointed the neighbours were having work done on the house next door, which was noisy at times. The neighbours scaffolding also overlooked one of our main bedrooms which wasnt ideal. While I guess this could not be helped, I would prefer to be notified of the neighbours work ahead of, allowing us to make an informed decision as to whether to go ahead with the booking or cancel.

Heather

An absolute gem of a place. Space for everyone with their own bathrooms. The complimentary toiletries were a lovely touch. 2nd ground floor living area a plus. The balcony furniture was comfortable and the views amazing. We had fantastic weather all week and made full use of the balcony. Garden was mature and well maintained. Bonus to have parking for 3 cars. Decorated to a high spec and felt like a real home. Everything we needed in the kitchen. Perfect location for a stroll to shops, restaurants and harbour. Both 1st floor bedrooms had black out blinds but the ground floor didnt. Any plans to put them in? It was clean enough for us but some areas needed attention. Blind in family bathroom very dusty and toilet brush holder dirty. Quite a lot of cobwebs all over the house. The oven needs attention too. The cleaners probably dont have a lot of time between lets but it could do with a deep clean. It really isnt a complaint but if I owned it Id want to know to get on top of it. We had a fabulous stay in your beautiful house. Thank you Heather

Brenda

Beautiful views and a lovely very well equiped house . However the house next door was being totally renovated and a new balcony was being fitted. So we had noise from eight in the morning through to late afternoon, our car was blocked in by the three trucks ,so we were unable to get out,so spent all our time at the house or walked down Boness. Real pity as it was a lovely warm and sunny week and such a lovely house with superb views.

Great stay at Mere view in the perfect position in the heart of Bowness just a 5 minute walk to the shops from the front door. Parking for 4 cars and the house over 3 floors with 3 good size bedrooms on the first 2 floors and on the 3rd floor the wow factor with large lounge and kitchen and a big wrap around balcony with stunning views of the lake and forest will definitely be booking again next year.

A remarkably well updated home, very quiet for us but also within minutes of all amenities. The wraparound balcony and beautiful views are a highlight, we would definitely think about this property on our next trip to Bowness. A welcome small detail over new year included a welcome pack. All in all, very comfortable and well thought through.

Richard

An absolutely stunning house with fabulous views of Lake Windermere and the mountains from the thirdstory lounge and balcony. The house was very well equipped and furnished to a very high standard. We dined in every night to take advantage of evening vista. There was plenty of off street car parking with the lake and amenities being a short 5 minute walk away. We enjoyed the beer and lovely atmosphere of the Hole Int Wall pub. We would deffinately stay again.

Kenneth

Another excellent week in Mere View. Beautiful property, with amazing views. Great location.

Its a beautiful property and so well equipped. We would definitely like to stay again. Everything was perfect thank you.

Patricia

Thank you we had a wonderful break. The house was beautiful and a real home from home and the views were amazing.

Lovely property close to shops and great places to eat, would definitely book again. Views are spectacular and weather wise we had a perfect week! We had a very relaxing time and the property was lovely to come back to after a day out, with everything we needed to hand.

Audrey

A fantastic holiday home. Literally just a couple of minutes walk to the heart of bustling Bowness but when youre in the house it feels as if you are miles away from habitation. The views from the main living area are fantastic and it lifted my heart every morning. Very comfortable beds as well. The only possible drawback is that, because of all the glass in the living area that gives access to the wonderful views, that room does get very warm when the sun is shining. If you dont want to use your car, from Bowness you can go to many places by boat or bus. I would definitely recommend this home to anyone wanting a holiday in this area.

George

Great position, high tech property, spotless, fabulous views

Andrew

One of the best properties that we have stayed in. The kitchen was fully equipped, and the bedrooms were roomy and comfortable. The balcony was one one of the biggest we have seen, and we often all sat outside when it wasn't raining. Being so high up, from the balcony we could watch the jets flying past at almost the same level as us.

Mere view is a wow location and accommodation. The wrap around balcony is amazing as is the pamaramic views from the top floor. Everywhere is beautifully decorated and we loved all the beautiful art works and accessories. Tasteful, comfortable and beautiful. Everything has been thought of to make for an amazing stay. There is plenty of information provided of bowness and the surrounding area. We all would definitely come back and recommend. It was amazing and a big thank you.

What a fantastic week we've had staying at Mere View. The property was beautiful and the views were just amazing. The attention to detail was just fabulous and the apartment was fully equipped with everything you could possibly need. A huge thank you to the owners and to Lakelovers for a truly memorable stay. We'll be back!

Kenneth

This is our second stay at Mere View and overall, as previously recorded the property is outstanding, particularly its site and views from the living area and especially since some of the surrounding tree and bushes have been cut back. Were already looking forward to another visit.

Catherine

We were entirely delighted and charmed with this holiday home. We have already booked to return.

Great place and the views are amazing daily changing landscape with the weather. Had it not rained most days wed have definitely made good use of the balcony. Excellent location for everything in Bowness and the house is very well equipped with everything you might need.

WIFI was unavailable for the first couple of days and bath plug did not retain water in the bath. The steps down to the car parking area where very slippy. Not an issue but more of a concern.

Kenneth

The property was immaculate and very comfortable. The location is stunning, to look at the view from the balcony or the lounge area was a privilege. We will definitely look to rebook in the near future.

Absolutely lovey accommodation, fitted with highend furniture and fittings as well as delightful artwork. More than adequate space throughout the house and parking for 2 cars. The location is perfect to walk into Bowness to get groceries, food and see the location attractions. Highly recommended, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will hopefully be back some time in the future.
