About Lingmell House

Lingmell House is a beautiful Victorian semi-detached home positioned perfectly between Bowness and Windermere in the Lake District. Original features run throughout this spacious property. The location puts you within a 10-15 minute walk of both villages.

A group of four of us stayed at Lingmell House for a long weekend break in September. The house was perfect for our needs and served as a cosy base from which we could head out and explore. The house was clean, well equipped, and the kitchen and living room were perfect social spaces. Would highly recommend.

Lovely house great strolling distance to both Windermere and to Bowness. Clean, comfortable and all amenities for a family of 5. I never get on with holiday cottage beds, but this one was great. Super easy to park on road outside. We read the poor review dated July 2026 the night before we arrived and so were worried we really neednt have been!

Lovely property within walking distance to the shops and lake Windermere. Plenty of parking spaces and only 3 minutes taxi ride from the train station. The house was perfect, nice and clean with plenty of amenities. It was a home from home with a lovely welcome basket. I would highly recommend Lingmell House and would love to return.
