Lovely tranquil property in a stunning location yet close but not too close to the bustle of Bowness. The property was well equipped and maintained with excellent beds, bedding and towels, and a lovely welcome pack that was unexpected and much appreciated. The property is very well located to reach lots of Lake District favourites such as Hill Top Farm, Tarn Hows, Buttermere, Grassmere, Ambleside etc. you can walk down into Bowness in 20 mins to catch a boat trip and so many National Trust properties within easy reach. Not negatives but we couldnt find any means to recycle our rubbish and this did seem to have been the case for previous occupants. Also I would have loved the use of a hair dryer. But the property itself was lovely and we would very much like to return.

We had a lovely stay at Tether's End. The location is beautiful and the cottage is really well equipped with everything you need. The kids had a super fun time with the farm animals nearby. Theres also plenty to do within a short drive or walk. All the shops and supermarkets are close to the cottage, and parking right by the entrance was a big plus. My only suggestions would be to add blinds, mats to bathroom and a hair dryer. 100 recommend this cottage wed love to come back.
This is a flat rather than a cottage as the ground floor is a work in progress to make another flat. This is not a problem as the views and location are great. Lovely high balcony to watch the evening sun, owls hunting in the meadow and the hens from next doors farm. About a 30 minute walk to Bowness if tou cut across the fields and less than a fiver in an uber if you prefer. The facilities are all great and good standard but we have to say the shower is a bit on the small side. This wouldn't stop us coming back as we enjoyed the peace and quiet and the place in general.

Loved it! You provided everything we could possibly need during our stay. Quite, stunning surroundings bombing with wildlife. Big garden for the dog to wonder, children to play and me to sunbathe. Plenty to do in the area for any type of family.
The description of Tethers end is not quite what you get. Its just an apartment really , there is no downstairs. This being said , the accommodation was lovely , great kitchen , the dining room was very dark but we used it anyway. The owner left lovely treats like wine, crisps and biscuits which was lovely of him. We had no cafetire to use the ground coffee he also left , as there was not one , we bought one and left it there for others to use. The views from the balcony were just lovely , we saw deer, ducks, chickens, a barn owl most days flying past. It was so peaceful , our dogs enjoyed the garden but we did not let them off as its not totally enclosed , our tiny terrier could fit under the main gate when shut. I would recommend Tethers End , we had a lovely stay.

Great place. Well appointed. Newly renovated. Great location in wilderness but close to town. Beautiful balcony to enjoy the sunrise over the fields with views of sheep and chickens. Theres a beautiful walk right behind the house which is worth it. Would stay again. 5 stars.

Had a lovely relaxing week at Tethers End. Secluded yet only 10 minutes from Bowness. Very comfortable accommodation, with fully equipped kitchen and great TV and WiFi. Lots of quiet safe walks for the dogs and plenty of eateries within a short drive. A perfect base to chill out or explore the Lakes. Thanks for the welcome goodies on arrival.
