About Glenridding Lodge

White Cross Bay sits between Windermere and Ambleside. The park has an indoor swimming pool, sauna, spa pool, steam room, Costa Coffee, a bar and restaurant. White Cross Bay has a children's play area, adventure playground and a full activities programme including arts and crafts, messy play, pottery painting, water walkerz and a children's disco. The indoor pool is on site. Lake Windermere is 0.1 miles away and Brockhole Visitor Centre with its Tree Top Trek is 3.5 miles away.
For Couples
Two couples or one couple wanting space will find this lodge works well. The king-size en-suite bedroom is private and guests have described the main bedroom as huge. The wine cooler, sound bar and spacious decking add to the feel. Lake cruises, Ambleside and Bowness are all within a short drive or bus ride.
Pet Friendly
One dog is welcome. The private decking gives outdoor space for dogs to settle. Millerground, a well-regarded dog-walking spot on the lake shore, is five minutes away. Dogs must stay on leads on the park at all times and must not be left alone in the lodge during the stay.

Does this cottage have a hot tub?
Glenridding Lodge does not have a hot tub. The park does have a spa pool and jacuzzi available via a complex pass purchased at reception.
Is it pet friendly?
One dog is welcome at Glenridding Lodge. Dogs must be kept on leads at all times on the park and must not be left alone at any point during the stay or allowed on furniture or in the bedrooms.
How many people does the lodge sleep?
The lodge sleeps four guests across two bedrooms. There is a king-size bedroom with en-suite and a twin bedroom served by a family shower room.
What on-site facilities are available?
White Cross Bay has an indoor swimming pool, sauna, spa pool, jacuzzi, steam room, children's play area, bar, restaurant, Costa Coffee, amusement arcade and a multi-sports court. A complex pass is required and purchased at reception.
Is the lodge suitable for guests with limited mobility?
The lodge is accessed by five steps and is then all on one ground-floor level. One guest noted it provided suitable access for a 94-year-old travelling companion.
Can I bring a baby or young child?
The lodge has a highchair and travel cot listed as features but guests must bring their own. A brought travel cot will only fit in the king-size master bedroom.
Where can I park and how do I get there?
Off-road parking is available within the park. Windermere train station is 1.9 miles away and a bus stop is just 0.1 miles from the park entrance.
What is included in the rental price?
Fuel, power, bed linen and towels are all included. Guests should bring their own leisure towels. WiFi is provided by the park though it is intended for light personal use only.

Over all a lovely stay. Great tucked away location in the park with comfortable beds and homely feel. We couldn't get either of the fans in the bathrooms to work when we had showers. And when we arrived the dishwasher was full of dirty pots. There was a full power cut to site on our last evening, we made the most of it with the games thank you! and found a battery powered light, but maybe an idea to provide a gas hob lighter as then you could still use that.

Everything are as described online. Only some minor issue like the ventilation fans which I can't make them work.
The lodge was cosy and well equipped, with a good supply of games and books. We could not get the TV to work, although occasionally we were able to watch something on BBC iPlayer. There was also a lack of information about the appliances. Apart from this, we had an enjoyable stay.
Thankyou for a lovely stay . This lodge is beautiful, cosy ,and has everything you need . Plus things you didn't know you needed. We could not have been as relaxed.. The sight is really nice and has a friendly feel . The location is perfect for getting around the lakes .. if you take your dog there is a place just 5 mins away called millerground it is beautiful. Will definitely reccomend to friends and family
We had a lovely stay in the lodge it was very comfortable with everything you could possibly need. A real home from home. The two welcome hampers treats and cleaning products were a nice touch and very much appreciated. The position of the lodge for us was perfect. Lots of wildlife nearby dears, owls, squirrels, hares and very quiet and peaceful. Doggy friendly and our pug had a great time. Have already recommended the lodge to our friends and will definitely look to book again.
Spacious, modern and clean. Lots of homely touches as well. Location was perfect for what we wanted to do during the weekend. It was great to be able to bring our dog and for her to have some outside space to chill out in as well, definitely more settled than in a hotel! Would recommend to others and wouldnt hesitate to book again. The only minor negative was that there wasnt much room to storeput away food items that needed to go in cupboards due to them being stacked full of crockery, cutlery etc. this was fine for us as we were only staying for a short break but might be more of an issue if staying for a week. The plus to this was that we had everything we needed utensilswise for cooking and preparing food!

It's a lovely lodge, well equipped ,comfortably Clean and a great base to travel around Cumbria Only issue we had was minor a leak from shower in ensuite Rang maintenance came in 5 minutes and sorted it. Definitely will be back

1, En,suite shower has water drainage problems 2, wet room door locks from outside it's a struggle to get back in. 3, No internet connection to smart TV 4, I notice a lot of cobwebs around holiday cottage I could of done with a Vacuum cleaner but none inside holiday cottage not good at all 5, A lot of noise from construction workers on site please notify us if you have construction work carrying out 6, site speed not kept mainly construction workers. 7, one of the windows nett curtain was missing 8, unable to use the wardrobe to its potential it was occupied with a spare chair, pillow, clothes rack.iron board. 9, if I was going to change anything to holiday cottage it would be a hot tub installed on the side of decking
On arrival had to ask for Water supply to be turned on ! No shower head in on suite? Cooking facilities. Chopping board moulded. Decking area dirty. Good notes. Lovely lodge and location. Thumbsup from me. Just need better house keeping.

Had a lovely break at Glenridding Lodge, we were very lucky with the weather at this time of year.
We had a great week at the lodge, which was very nice and comfortable with all facilities provided. The only minor issue we had was the shower head seemed loose in the en suite which didnt work properly, which wasnt a problem as we used the main bathroom. Also builders working on the lodge next door all week parking vans and diggers right outside the front of our balcony blocking all views ! Plus on 2 occasions they left nails from a nail gun on the gravel in front of my car which I had to move to save my tires ! and blocked me in ! Obviously thats not bad feedback on the lodge or owner but probably more of a site maintenance issue. All in all we had a good holiday and my 2 children enjoyed it.
Our booking was rather last minute and this was one of a small number of properties that I considered at White Cross Bay. I'm very happy that I chose this one. It has pretty much everything that one could need for a comfortable stay and in general, the location itself was very quiet and relaxed. It's also very easy to find on what can be a bit of a challenging layout. I would certainly recommend it.

We found Glenridding lodge to be well equipped and in good clean order, with a large decking area for outdoor eating etc. However, the siting of the lodge and location was disappointing. The views were very limited and simply looking out at other wooden lodges. White Cross Bay is probably better suited to young family holidays, unless the plot is nearer the lake with Lakeland views. Our group of four adults, decided we wouldnt stay again.

We only found half a toilet roll in each bathroom so take your own supply. It was well equipped and reasonably clean. Under settees and beds left a lot to be desired. The wardrobe door was hanging off in main bedroom but on the whole we had a good time and enjoyed it. It is set in lovely surroundings. There was plenty of crockery and cutlery etc. The fridge was very big which was good. Good value for money for 4 people.

We have been coming to White Cross Bay for a few years now and this lodge was one of our favourites! Very modern and comfortable. Great holiday additions such as the sound bar and wine fridge.

We stayed as a family of 4 between Xmas and New year, was a lovely break , lodge was spotless , modern and spacious , very homely and cosy too , everything you could possibly need in there too. We had a very nice weekend break, the weather on the Saturday amazing. The lodge was gorgeous and could tell it was newly done. Well equipped although we were expecting little touches such as sachets of coffeesugar, some salt maybe. From past experiences those things are normally provided. Having a television in the en suite bedroom was a nice touch. There was a box of Krispy Kreme donuts on top of the kitchen units that had been left with 2 in, not sure how long they had been there for, the cleaner must of missed them?
