Had a lovely week from July 10th 2026 Lodge was even better than it looked on the photos, we found everything that we needed staying here. We only used the tv to watch the England games and found the internet very hit and miss which could do with looking at but the owner offered to come and sort it out but we managed it, it was not a big problem. Perfect location and the views when sat out round the table on the decking are beautiful. We highly recommend this lodge.

Ambleside lodge is very spacious and has everything you will need. It was spotlessly clean. Good quality furniture throughout. The owner thinks of everything ie dvd's, games and a large collection of books. It has a large decking with fantastic views. It is situated in a prime location next to woods. Very quiet and relaxing.
Beautiful Lodge in a fantastic location. Stayed in a few Lodges in the Lakes but this tops all of them. I could have just sat looking through the window the whole time. Everything you need is at the lodge for your stay. Bedrooms are very roomy with great storage. Living area is a great space and the kitchen is well equipped. There are only two Lodges on this road and Ambleside is the end one. I cant stop raving about it. The Queens Head pub is great for food and very close to the site but you need to book as they get very busy. Its so peaceful at Limefitt Holiday Park and just minutes drive from Windermere. Owners are friendly and very helpful. We loved it so much we have booked for the same time next year.

Great communication throughout. Would highly recommend

Fabulous time at Ambleside Lodge. Great location within the Park, Overlooking Troutbeck Valley, 2 mins walk to the onsite Haybarn Pub. We spotted Deer walking through the Woods behind the lodge while sitting on the Veranda. Great base for walking & chilling alike. Thanks Syma, will be visiting again.

We have been coming to Limefitt for 17 years and stayed in various lodges, all of which have been beautiful. Ambleside Lodge was set in a great location, breathtaking views, secluded and perfect for us. The lodge was perfect inside, spacious, modern and clean. We have booked again for August and hoping to book again for New Year.

The lodge is in a lovely position on the site, tucked away, very quiet and nearby a wooded area so you can watch squirrels, deer and birds from the windows. First impressions of the lodge itself werent amazing, for the price wed expected something a little less worndated and a little bit cleaner something sticky on the light switch in the hall, something on the en suite door handle, doggy smelling dusty rug, cracked shower head in en suite that sprays upwards. However, the beds seemed clean and comfortable and the lodge had everything we needed including a few extras that are always helpful iron and board, dishwasher etc. The WiFi is really good and we were able to stream with minimal buffering. We had an issue with the smoke alarm in the living room area beeping, I believe this has been commented on before by another guest. I think it may be time for a new one as the battery in it said 2015 on it and the alarm itself looked very old yellowed plastic. The owner was lovely when we texted her about it and got the site staff to come fix it. Though the problem persisted and not wanting our holiday disturbed further we took it down there were several other alarms around the lodge luckily. We did have a lovely, relaxing break and the lodge was nice enough, just not quite as nice as the pictures or price suggested.
I took my disabled father and we managed amazingly. The views were stunning and it was perfect for my dogs. We had an amazing time. Thank you Debbie

Excellent comfy accommodation for all ages

Lovely, large lodge which is very comfortable and a real home from home. Its in a great position on the site and we will definitely return.

This was our second stay at Ambleside lodge. The lodge is homely and comfortable. Even though it rained continually for the whole week we had a great time and coming back to the lodge was cosy on a night.
We have stayed in this lodge before and will again. It's location and views are stunning and the lodge very comfortable. However this time we found some of the furnishings eg settees and outdoor furniture rather worn and tired looking and the cushions rather grubby and the outside table was absolutely filthy. We were also slightly disappointed that this time there was no welcome goodies juice etc at all. This won't put us off coming again!
Fantastic stay at Ambleside lodge. Great facilities, lovely spacious lodge plenty big enough for 4 adults and two teenagers. The owner could not be more accommodating. Highly recommended.
Joanne
Lovely Lodge everything we needed for a very relaxing holiday. Was clean and tidy on arrival. Litte extras like milk, orange juice, tea, coffee hand soap were very much appreciated. Lodge was very private and we felt at home straight away.

We had a lovely week in this beautiful lodge with spectacular views of the surrounding countryside. Lodge had everything we needed and it's position in the park is ideal....no passing traffic and not overlooked. Owner really supportive when I queried something. We would certainly recommend and plan to return. Sandra Broughton. June 2025.
Great location, lovely lodge, very comfy and homely and good facilities. Really enjoyed the stay.

Returned from a weeks stay at this lodge yesterday and we all had a gorgeous time! The lodge is spotless and has everything you need, located in a quiet and private spot which is amazing. We all loved it that much we booked to return the same time next year before we left! Cant wait to return next year!
Lovely position been here many times. Lodge is fully equipped
We had a fabulous stay over Easter and will definitely return. The position of the lodge is perfect as it is private and with the added bonus of a fantastic view. We were blessed with good weather so enjoyed sitting on the deck in the sunshine watching the deer and squirrels in the woods to the side of us. The site itself is quiet with a great onsite pubrestaurant and little shop. Within walking distance there are another couple of pubs and also a short drive will take you to Ambleside or Bowness. I'm already looking to book again

Fellside lodge was homely and comfortable, very clean. The views are lovely. The grandchildren enjoyed playing with some off the games that is already there, on the day it rained which kept them happy. I would highly recommend a stay in this lovely lodge to anyone thinking of staying in Ambleside.
Jennifer
We had a wonderful time at your property. Everything was thought about so thank you. My only feedback would be some of the cooking utensils were tired there was a frying pan that should really be binned
Vivien
We had a lovely break. Ambleside lodge was clean and comfortable a little tired in places but everything worked. Lovely location on a quiet site. We would stay again.
Joanne
We have stayed in many lodges on this site, We loved Ambleside Lodge. Everything worked and was very clean, had everything we needed and more. Very comfortable, a proper home from home. Loved the quiet position and the views. Our little dog loved the outside. The orange juice and milk was a lovely touch. We met the owner on the day we left, she was so nice and helpful. We cant wait to book again and have already recommended it to friends.

The complex felt very safe and the lodge was clean and well presented. The decor was nice and the lodge felt as though it was situated in a private part of the complex. We were delighted to find that there was an enclosed dog field a short walk away from the lodge where all dogs can be let off lead for a good run around. There were clean towels provided for all guests, and the beds were made up nicely. There was a sponge with tea towels and complimentary milk in the fridge on arrival! The bath and shower were both great with hot water and heating was available to turn updown as and when we wanted. The heating was very good and responsive! We were 4 adults, 2 children and 2 dogs with 2 dog crates and had plenty of space! If I had a couple of requests, it would be for more hangers in the wardrobe as we were staying a week and there were only a few hangers for 2 adults in one room. Also, it would have been nice to have a spare bedding available to allow for a change of sheets during the week if wanted or in case of any issues. Perfect location for anywhere in the lakes you want to visit. Different places we travelled to were Ullswater 30 mins, Grasmere 18mins, Windermere 10mins, Ambleside 10mins, Derwent Water 50mins. We would definitely stay here again, it was ideal! There was a nice family pub on site too The Haybarn a 1 minute walk away from the lodge. We ate there on a few nights as it was so convenient and delicious too! There was a washing machine in the lodge so take some washing tablets if you fancied keeping up with any washing after hiking days out, etc. There are many books there and some family games, which was a nice touch. There was a smart TV with access to Netflix and Prime if you have your log ins to memory. Free WiFi, which gave us no issues and was a god send with the kids! We did have to call the owner when we got there but after turning the dongle off and on, it connected and worked fine for the rest of the stay. The decking part of the lodge was nice too with gates to keep it an enclosed area nice and easy for the dogs when they needed fresh air without worry they would escape. Overall, we would all highly recommend this stay.
Nathan
Great lodge in a quiet cul de sac on site. Very convenient for Ambleside, Windermere and Bowness together with great walks from the site. Pub on site is friendly, clean with sky sports showing, the food is average but ok. Would recommend the Mortal Man for eating just a 5 minute walk away
Melanie
The accommodation was lovely. We had a great time. Couple of points Onsuite extractor to noisy to use. The hoover main plug needs attention.
Suzanne
Lovely lodge, very comfortable for six and well equipped. Only comment for improvement from older parents was a lack of shelf in the ensuite shower for toiletries. Lots of storage, good heating if needed & plenty of dvds, games & books provided if weather turns. Lodge is well positioned with lovely views & surrounded by bird & wildlife & strolling distance to the onsite pub restaurant. Would definitely book again as a peaceful base for a family get together.
Sophia
Really lovely stay. It was super comfortable and not overlooked at all with beautiful views. Great telly and facilities. We were a little disappointed the some of the side lights needed bulbs in the bedrooms and the windows exterior could do with a clean but overall we loved it and hopefully will be back again. Would recommend staying here, location is perfect for travelling to and from including the lovely Queens Head pub which is literally a 3 min drive away.
Alison
We had a lovely week in Ambleside lodge. It has fantastic views & there are great walks straight from the door. Its in a great position for visiting the surrounding area but far enough away from the crowded areas of the lakes. We would definitely recommend it & will book again when were next up in the Lakes area.
Kathryn
Our stay at Limefitt Park was everything we wanted. The park was small, clean and well maintained and the location was superb. Troutbeck is between Windermere and Ambleside, so we were centrally located which puts you right in the heart of the Lake District. The lodge was very comfortable and provided absolutely everything you could want when on holiday. We would definitely return and would recommend it to others for sure.

A lovely clean lodge. It had everything we needed and was in good position to enjoy the views. It was more than big enough for a family of 5 and 2 dogs. Would highly recommend.

A lovely stay and would definitely recommend and stay again. The lovely touch on arrival of wine and chocolate. The lodge was cosy and very clean and milk and fresh orange juice was there when we arrived. I would also like to mention everything was catered for from coffee and condiments which you can easily forget shows they had thought of everything. The view from the lodge is amazing.
Lovely lodge, spent Xmas 2023 here, the addition of Christmas tree and decorations was a lovely surprise. The lodge Is situated at the back of park in a private location with no traffic passing by. Although the weather was terrible we were cosy. Everything you could possibly need. Just a couple of points vacuum smelt like sick, we bought new bags and air freshener for hoover, still smelt, the rug in the lounge would benefit from a shampoo too and the outside light didnt work up to front door which reading comments in guest book had been case for a while although there was a torch provided. They are just really picky points, the lodge is beautiful we will hopefully be back in the summer. Thank to Syma you have a lovely lodge
We've stayed at Limfitt a couple of times before and love the peacefulness and the beautiful surroundings, but this lodge was the best we've stayed in. It was lovely and clean with a warm welcoming feeling about it. Milk and orange juice in the fridge when we arrived, even down to spare toilet roll. We loved it and would definitely recommend it, and hope to stay there again soon. thank you for sharing you beautiful lodge.
This Lodge was fabulous, it was everything we hoped for and much, much more.
Very well equipped lodge, spotlessly clean, spacious and well appointed. Nice quiet holiday park with plenty of beautiful walks in all directions and ideally located close to Windermere and surrounding locations. Would absolutely recommend and would be back in a heartbeat if we choose to do The Lakes again.
