We absolutely loved the lodge, the location and the surrounding area. The lodge was perfectly clean and beautifully maintained. The guest arrival gift was so thoughtful and we felt instantly welcomed. We had everything we needed and it was a great base for going out on day trips but also a lovely place to relax in the sun and enjoy a book and glass of wine. The only thing Id say is that the photos were a little old and we couldnt see the tarn as the view was blocked by the trees and that was one of the things that we were looking forward too. Didnt impact on our stay though at all. Overall, Id recommend this property and we have already booked again for next year.

Tarn Lodge is a well located for access to Bowness and Windermere. It provides comfortable, clean accommodation with the added bonus of a private hot tub. The listing doesnt make it clear that it is part of an estate with similar accommodation on the same site, but Tarn Lodge is positioned far enough away from the other holiday lets to make it feel independent. It was a little difficult to find from the updated directions wed been given. A simple reference to Linthwaite House Hotels drive would have been useful. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking for 5 or more although some basic provisions like salt and pepper, oil and vinegar would have been appreciated. There are a number of very good restaurants nearby so eating out is a good option. The agreement is to leave the accommodation as you found it, meaning that a clean around is necessary at the end of the stay. It would be better if this were included in the price as Im sure not everyones standards are the same and the owners have to change the laundry and check on cleanliness anyway.

Really lovely property with an eco friendly living roof. The lodge was spotless and extremely well equipped. We had a really good holiday although we had 3 days of typical British rainy weather. Many thanks to the maintenance team who sorted out our fridge problem quickly and even gave us a backup fridge in case the problem reoccured.

We really enjoyed our stay in Tarn Lodge. It was in a lovely location with beautiful views. The Lodge had everything we needed and was very comfortable. We were 2 couples but it would also be perfect for a family of 5. The local ducks were very tame and friendly so take them some food. It was close to the stunning town of Bowness on Windermere. The only thing to be aware of is that it's not easy to walk in to the town due to lack of pavements. We'd hoped to go running from the lodge but decided not to. It was an easy drive everywhere with convenient parking.

My family and I had a wonderful stay at Tarn Lodge over Christmas and my 30th birthday Boxing Day. It was decorated lovely for Christmas with a local hamper of goodies, and my mum appreciated early access to be able to put up birthday decorations! There was everything we needed for the stay, especially the kitchen. The sofas and hot tub were a great size for the five of us and location was perfect to walk down into Bowness and the marina. Would definitely stay again!

Great lodge, we loved every minute! Very comfy beds, clean property and a well stocked kitchen! Hot tub and the views were an added bonus!

The things that make this lodge so special are 1 its location quiet, yet within walking distance of the town and ferry. 2 that wonderful view from the veranda and hot tub down to the little tarn. 3 the fact that you are not over looked or hemmed in by other properties 4 so well furnished and equipped inside with every kitchen implement you could need. We thoroughly enjoyed this break and will certainly be back.

After an initial hiccup which was resolved promptly our stay was great and we would definitely recommend this property. Thank you for your support & flexibility.

We had a wonderful stay at Tarn Lodge. Beautiful accommodation which was spacious, clean, modern and very well equipped. The online guidebook was really helpful in planning our holiday knowing in advance what to expect and the equipment on offer. Had great fun at our first ever paddle board lesson with Chelsea communication and booking very easy and a great experience on the day. Loved our visit would definitely recommend to others and hopefully will return one day.

Stayed here for a week at the beginning of July. Lodge and grounds were brilliant and area was perfect for the three of us ladies. Hot tub was great and well placed and area around lodge was beautiful and peaceful with even a deer at the bottom of lawn to see some mornings! Lodge itself with very comfy and beautifully clean and well equipped even with a large screen smart TV. Only small point is it possible to keep bushes down at the bottom of grounds so one could see the tarn in summer as well as winter! Missed seeing this view in July. Otherwise we all had a brilliant time staying in Tarn lodge and would certainly recommend staying there. Steph Debbie and Val.

Several issues with property, once emailed to the office all were rectified the next day. thanks go to Martin & Sarah. nice quiet site saw plenty of wildllife, including Deer, Ducks, pheasants, squirrels, we had a nice time and the hot tub was very pleasant as well

Tarn Lodge is a fabulous place to stay & in such a quiet location, we were all impressed. It had everything we needed. Only 1 slight quibble, the ensuite shower hasn't got a variable shower head & the water wasn't very hot despite going over the scald feature to test it. That was all. We would love to stay again.

Tarn Lodge is beautiful, its well furnished and homely. Everything you can think of is provided and its in the most peaceful and well maintained setting. We would highly recommended.

Fantastic place to stay every thing you would ever need they supply. Beautiful surroundings full of wildlife saw deer pass by and the ducks were so friendly. Could do with more comfortable sofas but that usually wouldn't bother us as if the weather was better we would have been out exploring the area.

What an amazing experience to stay at Tarn Lodge we stayed for 3 nights on Easter bank holiday. Building was big enough for our family of five, very clean and tidy. The facilities in the lodge were very good and it was much more than we expected it includes every little thing that a family needs for a few days of holidays unbelievable. Private car park for Tarn Lodge was really big and spacious. Kitchen includes every thing for cooking and washing. Bedrooms are nice and comfortable. Bathroom, shower room and toilets are very clean. Hot tub was very relaxing and the kids enjoyed it so much. Wifi is also very good our experience most of the lodges in other areas do not have wifi, or have wifi only in reception area. The scenes around the Tarn Lodge were amazing including the small lake at the back. There was quite a lot of sense of nature ducks, birds and rabbits around the house, and the kids were so happy to see them. Staying in Tarn lodge was way better than staying in a good hotel, and the charge was worth paying. 100 recommended.

This is a fantastic property . Spacious, clean, well thought out with windows and doors everywhere to take in the great view of the tarn . It is well maintained and there is even a very friendly member of staff who came to check the hot tub was ok . Plenty of logs for the wood burner too . We had a pair of visiting ducks and saw pheasant, deer, and birds of prey during our stay . Easy access to Bowness and Windermere . A great place to unwind and explore the surrounding countryside. Highly recommended.

Absolutely 5. A little hidden gem. The property is comfortable, clean, well equipped and in a beautiful setting just a few minutes drive away from Bowness. Gorgeous views over the Tarn, and daily visits from the ducks! Sarah is very welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. Would recommend 100.

The Lodge was just what I hoped for. Good location, comfortable, clean, well equipped

The advert is misleading. This isn't a private, quiet, holiday location. It's overlooked by four other properties. We had to listen to drunken idiots most evenings it felt like a budget holiday park. The people who carry out the daily checks on the hot tub don't access it from the rear of the property ??!!, they bimble directly across the front, looking straight into the living room. A guy on a tractor turned up to mow our lawn, whilst we were trying to grab some sun and get a baby to sleep at lunchtime on our last day. The rear of the property is an absolute mess of metal fencing, as they're clearly building something. The garden furniture on the decking is very oldshoddy. One of the chairs stained my wife's tshirt with rust. Despite the fact they have Sky at the property, they don't subscribe to any channels. As a result, on the days we were housebound, due to the weather, we couldn't even watch TV. The single beds are absolutely TINY. They're meant for children, so don't make the same mistake as us and assume that adults could sleep in them. I was insulted that after the week we had, and amount it cost, they had the audacity to leave a note instructing us to strip all the beds on the way out. I could go on, but I've made my point. I was not at all impressed considering I paid 2500 to stay at the property. It wasn't private, it wasn't relaxing, it wasn't worth the money. The owners need to be HONEST in their advertising and charge a lot less for what felt like a Butlins at times. We wouldn't stay there again if it was free.

Beautiful lodge in a lovely setting. However, we were concerned that the Plug in Air Freshener in the hall had been left switched on, it was completely empty and on removal very hot. As reported in the press these air fresheners are fire hazards when left switched on when empty !!!!! After unplugging it we removed the refills so hopefully it will not get used until new refills have been added.

We had the most wonderful stay this is our second year staying in this property and we just can't fault it. The garden is amazing and the children spent so much time playing on it the lodge is so well equipped with everything you could possibly need for a week away and it's in a great location too not far from Bowness. It's lovely to sit in the hot tub in the evenings. We will definitely be back again.

The lodge was spotless and had everything we needed for a week long stay. Beautiful and peaceful location but still an easy walk in to Bowness. Will definitely be coming back!

Fantastic place and location.

Very impressive location and accommodation. Well equipped kitchen and loved the log burning fire. Clean and was perfect for our holiday.

We absolutely loved the lodge and thought it comfortable and well stocked. As the weather was cold the log fire was an absolute bonus. We saw plenty of wild life including deer in front of the lodge, rabbits, bird of prey and numerous pheasants. Whilst it is not completely isolated we were not disturbed by neighbouring properties at all. Whilst the walk into Bowness was doable, not all our party could manage the uphill walk back. That might be worth a mention or I could have just missed it !. We would love to go back.

Had a great stay at Tarn Lodge. It had everything you would need for a comfortable stay. Great to listen to the birds in the morning. The only thing I can mention as a negative is we were there for a week and on the Friday to Monday there were groups in the cottages at the side. On two of the nights it sounded like they were having a rave. This is more inconsiderate people than the owners fault.

Fab lodge , every thing you might need , great quality bedding , well equipped kitchen and fantastic hot tub. Only minor moans really , couldnt get Netflix etc to work , kept telling us no internet connection . Pictures dont show the row of cottages and view of their hot tubs to the left of the property , should imagine quite noisy when fully booked as we could clearly hear people when sat on our terrace. The final thing which prevented us booking again for next year is what looks like future building above and behind the lodge , such a shame .

Superb lodge in beautiful surroundings and lovely quiet setting. We loved the daily visits from the ducks! Really well equipped, clean and comfortable. Things were provided which we wouldnt have expected such as soap, dishwasher tablets, tea bags and coffee. It was a nice touch that Grasmere gingerbread had been left for us on our arrival. Hot tub was amazing, really relaxing and enjoyable after a day spent walking. Great location for exploring the Lake District. Couldnt fault it in any way.

A delightfully located modern holiday lodge that is very well equipped for five people sharing. The main kitchendinersitting area is comfortable and well laid out, which makes catering easy. The bedrooms were spacious with plenty of storage. The bath and shower rooms were modern and clean. Plenty of birdlife around for those interested in nature and we were able to watch the tribulations of the mother ducks trying to raise their families of very cute ducklings, despite the depredations of the local buzzards. Overall, one of the nicest lodges we have ever rented.

Excellent holiday, lodge is top notch. However, if I had a criticism the WiFi could be improved. At times it was painfully slow Im guessing the WiFi was being shared with the other accommodations adjacent to the lodge.

We had an excellent stay at Tarn Lodge and have recommended to family and friends. Martin was brilliant and couldn't do enough for us and always with a smile and a nod. This lodge was honestly amazing and everything within it was done to such a high standard no skimping took place with this property! Due to the hot weather, two small things did occur to us as possible additions for next summer. One would be an overhead light above the dining table and the other would be to add an awning across some of the decking area to allow some shade on the hot days. Many many thanks for this lodge. It was absolutely wonderful.
