The property was very tired. Mould inside the property on walls and ceilings. Outside furniture looked like it had just been gathered up from other peoples spare things. A large oval outside plastic table just for 2 people?! The original photo of outside furniture was different, so therefore misleading! Decking broken and shabby. Unevenunsafe paving flags near the bins. Way too many ornaments and personal things in the lodge. We would not recommend or ever visit this accommodation again.

Brilliant accommodation, host was very good could not ask for more. Very chilling and relaxing.

Property is up a very steep drive and the parking spot is neat to fit into. Having said that the height meant we had glorious views of the planets from the hot tub in the evening and it was inexpensive to get a taxi to and from Bowness. Its a cosy, very dog friendly property. Furnishings arent the most modern but bed is extremely comfortable. There is a path from the back garden leading to a lovely walk to the Brown Horse Pub which serves excellent food. NB our dog did have to be hoisted over the stone wall steps. Judy the owner was very friendly and helpful and had some good local recommendations.

The views were exceptional overlooking Windermerebetter than the photo. The lady owner was extremely helpful & kind, being our 58th wedding anniversary & us aged 80 yrs old. Certainly worth a revisit & we loved the owners dog, Mr Darcy, the St Bernard.

A fantastic stay at this lovely Lodge. All that we needed for a relaxing break. The dog loved the garden.

The owner was so lovely and easily contactable. The accommodation was roomy however it is very dated and needing a great deal of maintenance and updating.

Great place to stay, especially with a pet. Our wee cat PJ loved it, exploring round about. Everything you need in the fully equipped Lodge and perfect location with a lovely view over Lake Windermere, nice and peaceful but only 5 minutes drive from Bowness. Nice private garden with hot tub and barbecue and having the log burner at night was good. Host Judy and aunt Viv were really nice and helpful, providing everything you need and giving good information on what's happening and best restaurants, etc. Hopefully we'll be back next year. Loved it so much! The hot tub, fireplace, cozy bedroom, lovely shower, felt very homey. And amazing views! The card and chocolate from Judy was so sweet as well. Loved the board games, books and nongagetyness of the place. Highly recommend! As a side note, the kitchen could have had a few more bits to make it more easy, like a smaller frying pan and saladserving bowls, a little pan and broom... Some throws to snuggle up with on the sofa would have been an extra plus too. But I'm being a bit picky, maybe because we were in the house most of the time due to bad weather

Gorgeous little place adjoined onto the owners house! Julie has three gorgeous dogs, one of which mine took a shine too Mr Darcy the place we stayed was homely and had a warm welcome, would definitely stay here again when we return to the lakes!

We have stayed at Lake Lodge many times over the years and have just returned from another perfect week. Such a lovely cosy lodge with amazing views. So peaceful and private, perfect place to completely chill out. Loved the hot tub. Judy the owner is lovely and welcomed our 3 dogs, a rare find as a lot of properties don't allow multiple dogs. Nothing not to like here! Hope to visit again soon.

Beautiful accommodation inside and out which is attached to the owners property but this shouldnt put you off. You are completely separate and have privacy. The views from the garden & hot hub of Windermere Lake are stunning and breathtaking . Very dog friendly and the owner has thought of everything to make your stay comfortable and relaxing 5 from us !

Very warm friendly welcome which continued throughout our stay we would certainly recommend it to family and friends on top of all we would love to return in the near future. Hello the location was fine however its not a lodge its an extension to the owners house along with another extension privacy was an issue also I texted the owner to let her know the roof was leaking in the lounge she said she had it repaired 4times but only being 30 seconds from us didnt look at the leak we had to move furniture away from the leak also there was mould on all the windows

We had a great time at Lake Lodge Judy was a fantastic host who made us feel very welcome. Facilities were brilliant and the property is well laid out with all the necessities you would need. We plan on visiting again next year

Views were incredible. Beautiful and quite. The cleanliness however was not so great. Cobwebs, mould in places, as well as THICK dust especially under the sofas. When we stripped the bed at the end of our stay, the pillows and quilt were stained yellow with what I'm hoping was sweat. The lodge itself was very difficult to find, however, that was probably more to do with my sat nav. That's enough moaning, now onto the positives. The lodge was very comfortable and well furnished. Every you needed was there, and then some. The owner made us feel very at home and left us to our holiday and never interfered once. Mr D'Arcy the owners dog kept a watchful eye over us from his balcony which made us all feel safe. Overall very happy with the our stay, although I would invest in a cleaner before the next group stay. Would definitely come again.

The Lodge is attached to the main house which can only be described as a granny annex, the wall that the annex has been constructed to the main house is not a solid brick wall it is some kind of floor to ceiling shutter, and when somebody knocks on the main house they can be heard talking through it which means the sound goes both ways. In the kitchen there are 2 windows 1 overlooks the conservatory, which is the other rental property, and conservatories garden. Sitting at the table to eat in the kitchen the curtain has to remain closed as the window overlooks the conservatory rental property and the other window looks straight into their hot tub and garden. In the Lodge the shower roomtoilet blind had to remain closed as when people were in the other rental properties garden they looked straight into this room which on one occasion was a bit awkward!! There are cobwebs throughout the property and when it rained the ceiling in the lounge leaked again there is water damage to the beams which showed it was an ongoing problem. There was also a gnat problem in the bedroom and there was evidence around it was not a new problem. Not being dog owners the aroma of dogs in the property took a while to adjust to. The hot tub has no privacy as it faces the very large window of the main property! We were disappointed that The Lodge was not near The Mere, however, it can be seen in the distance. The area itself is beautiful and is a very quiet area, is easy to find. Bowness is a short drive from The Lodge and the boat trips are a must to do both to Bowness and Lakeside the scenery is amazing. As we wanted a very relaxed time, we didn't complain and we did have the relaxing time we wanted and needed.

Lake Lodge is a lovely place to stay. Lovely view of windermere. Owners were very welcoming. Would deffinatly stay there again

Dogs in this property could easily get out of the garden. The gate was just pushed to and a dog could easily nudge it open with their nose. A couple of times our dog escaped and we had to lodge it shut with a chair shoved against it. The owner needs to make the gate much more secure.

We found this cottage so cosy and relaxing, the hot tub was really hot and on all the time , French doors in the living room open onto a lovely enclosed garden overlooking lake Windermere . Our dogs usually a little stressed when we are on holiday but they were so relaxed and happy here . It will always be my first choice to stay when we stay in the lakes. Cant wait to return.

We had a lovely break at Lake Lodge, it was a perfect base for exploring and the view over the lake was wonderful. The hot tub was great. Judy made us very welcome and we were very comfortable. Would definitely recommend to anyone and would certainly stay again.

Very difficult to locate despite sat nav. At no time did the information provided about the lodge state it was attached to the owners property and lacked privacy both indoor and outdoor due to an additional holiday studio. Dangerous slate steps to access the lodge without a full handrail . Parking space is only suitable for a small car and covers the car with debris. Oven was too grubby to use. Instruction manuals provided did not match the appliances. Lake District view is beautiful accommodation was very disappointing.

The property is a bit dated which is not a problem , but being maintained is. While we was there the roof in the lounge leaked and ended up with saucepans on the floor . The shower cubicle, for a start you couldnt keep the shower head in place , just needed tightening and the sealant at the bottom was cracking . . Had to tighten toilet flush myself so it worked . This all not good but not impossible to fix . The worst thing was a reluctance to either fix from the owner and the answer from Sykes , which was there was no compensation and the advice was to take the owner to small claims court. The best bit was not to go there again . Well we will not go there again or use Sykes .

Really lovely owner who was so helpful

We were greeted on arrival by Judy and shown around the lodge, she was incredibly welcoming and helpful! The lodge is incredibly cosy and very comfortable, and the hot tub outside is perfectly placed for a view over the lake and gets plenty sun throughout the afternoon well into the evening. The location of the lodge is an appropriate distance from Bowness as to be peaceful on an evening, but Bowness is still easily accessible either by a long but lovely walk, or a very short drivetaxi ride. Would absolutely come again! The only advice I would pass on if you wish to stay here is to read the directions provided on the booking, and not to follow AppleGoogle maps all the way as you may miss the correct turn! It is actually very easy to find, but satnav doesnt generally deal with small lanes very well!

Really lovely place to stay the owner was welcoming, friendly and helpful. Only slightly marked down on the listing accuracy as its EVEN BETTER than it looks on the photos!

We had such a great stay at Lake lodge a real home from home for us and our pet dog. The hot tub was great to unwind in after days out walking overlooking the lake in a lovely private garden setting. Would highly recommend and looking forward to staying again! p.s. food in nearby country pubs Brown Horse and Masons Arms are superb!

We had a lovely warm welcome, though the best welcome was the hello from Bear the Bernese Mountain dog, and the owner made sure we knew that we could call her if we needed anything. A beautiful property with a spectacular view, a perfect place for breakfast in the sun. Ranger, our Border Collie, loved all the new smells and relaxing in the shaded areas. The stars were stunning when sat out at night, or from the hot tub. The bed was comfy and the living room nice and cosy. We enjoyed the scrabble game board provided and Ranger made friends with the toy sheep from the basket of toys provided.

We looked for a place to get away from it all and just relax and spend some quality time with eachother and our 3 dogs. This place has been perfect for us and we can't wait to be back.

Lovely lodge, not the most up to date but everything you need and more. owner was lovely and welcoming, she also welcomed our 3 dogs, which was amazing. we loved our stay, with such an amazing view, especially sunset. Lake district is such a lovely place, but it does rain, but the lodge has everything you need to get clean and dry, both humans and dogs. only negative was, step slope but that is highlighted when booking, and parking space away from lodge. but would happily stay again.

Judy was a lovely lady that gave us a warm welcome, the lodge was very homely, although could do with a bit of a makeover, and quite a way outside Bowness. . but we had a wonderful stay
