House was in a good location and had everything we needed. It was nice and quiet and really spacious. There were a few minor things but overall we loved it at this property and would consider using it again.
My wife and I, along with our furry friends, had an absolutely wonderful time at this gorgeous house with stunning views from every window! The garden was a dream come true for our dogsthey could just run around and explore to their hearts content. The kitchen was wellequipped, and the driveway with electric car charging was a huge plus easy to navigate & use signal for you mobile is little or none existent so connect to the WiFi in house to use the charging app. It was only about a 15minute drive to Windermere, depending on which part you wanted to explore. Ambleside and Grasmere were also not too far away! We didnt get to take a walk from the house because the weather wasnt cooperating, but thats an option too. Overall, the house was perfect for our stay! Its upstairs down stairs house 2 bedrooms on lower floor a modern family size bathroom kitchenliving roomreading room along with 1 bedroombathroom ensuit on second floor. We had wonderful stay here! Thank you!
Amazing house in fabulous location. Our stay was perfect apart from one exception. We were forewarned of two days of tree cutting at adjoining neighbors property. While we were warned and the neighbors were very friendly and apologetic, it caused our dogs a deal of anxiety and did severely reduce any sense of peace and tranquility. The warning did not compensate for the affect, otherwise the week spent there would have been blissful in every way.
Lovely roomy house. Gorgeous from outside. The views were amazing. Parking for two vehicles. Access road a bit tricky. Nice size garden ideal for dogs and seemed to be secure. Looking slightly dated inside. Rugs with curling up corners a trip hazard. The main upstairs bedroom didn't really have a proper wardrobe, just a musty smelling room filled with household items where you could hang a few clothes. Fridge freezer only just big enough for a house that can have up to six people.

The place is fabulous and very comfortable with great views to the Langdale Pikes. Would have been useful to know that there was no salt & pepper or clingfilm or tea towels and minimal toilet rolls. Otherwise 5 stars.
Fantastic family house in a beautiful location. Everything you need is provided. Dog friendly garden and stunning views. Love going there year after year!
We could not get sufficient hot water, this may have been us not understanding ... We could not get sufficient hot water, this may have been us not understanding the system but the electric shower in the ensuite was only Luke warm also However we managed and did not call the homeowner
We enjoyed our stay at March House. Its in a lovely position and on the whole well equipped. A few more plates would be useful to make proper use of the dishwasher. The view from the lounge is lovely. When we arrived on the Friday, we found the house cold. The thermostats on the radiators were set to 15 and it took a long time for the rooms to heat up. It was good to have a few dishwasher tablets to get us started, but it would have been nice to have been able to have a cup of tea while we waited for our food order to be delivered. The addition of a coffee machine would also be great. Overall though we had a lovely stay and wouldnt hesitate to recommend.

This is our 2nd time here its just a lovely home it has everything we needed and so close to Windermere and surrounding places although the weather wasnt that good it didnt spoil our stay as there was so much to do and see . Definitely will go back there
We loved the house with its beautiful views and spacious accommodation with a great spacious, secure wraparound garden. Comfortable furnishings and well equipped. A great place for a wonderful holiday. Maybe increase the amount of crockery to more than items to use dishwasher effectively. A coffee machine would be an ideal addition.
Really good property and as described. Tired in places threadbare carpet on the stairs and in need of some maintenance. Some gutters were leaking, there was a bees nest in the eaves in the roof above the front door and the chimney had a crows nest in it. Good thing we didnt try to light the fire! Generally had everything we needed, but really needs a proper kitchen bin. Most items were IKEA, which is fine, but not really a high quality feel. V conveniently located for accessing Windermere, bowness and Ambleside. After a long, long, drive, it would have been nice if there had been a tea bag available. Something other than electric showers would have been good too.
The fact that we have stayed at March House 11 times and will be booking again next year speaks for itself! !! Love the place. The location, the space, and facilities are all excellent, it's like a home from home for us!
Its a beautiful house in a beautiful location. But the house needs some updates in my opinion, the carpet was threadbare at the top of the stairs and where the radiators had been removed, it looked a little scruffy. Comfy bed. Sofas comfy. Beautiful garden..there were small gaps where a small dog can get through, under the netting of the gate, we accounted for this beforehand as we understand its our responsibility. But just be aware if you have a curious dog it's possible to get out. I think the house has huge potential, and whilst there was nothing particularly wrong, it didn't set our world on fire either.
This was our third visit to Mach House which was as good as ever, house clean on arrival, no problems while we were there. Next time we will remember to order better weather!!!

We had a wonderful time, this is our dream home, the views are spectacular, gardens are beautiful and the location is perfect. Thank you for letting us stay we are 100 coming back next year.
A fantastic property. The best we have had in all our visits to the lakes. Having the Lounge on the upper floor meant we were treated to the most magnificent sunsets, We normally bring items that we have found lacking in some accommodation but we didn't need to use any of our own items. Having the lounge upstairs could have been an issue if we had brought our elderly Labrador as he wouldn't have coped with the stairs. The lane to the property is not for the faint hearted though. Luckily we only met 2 vehicles during our whole week.
We had a fantastic stay in March House. The house was provided with everything you would need. It was well located so touring around the lakes was ideal. It was peaceful for the best relaxing holiday weve had. Highly recommend people staying here. The one downside was coming home.
We have been to March House 10 times now and it feels like a 'home from home'. The owners have improved the beds and living room settees in the last few years to ensure that the standards remain high. We love the place and look to return as often as we can.
This was our second visit to Match House, house was well presented and lovely and clean on arrival. The new settees and bed were very welcome, much more comfortable. The library content is amazing couldn't want for better reading material. Garden was really lovely but couldn't really sit out because of the noise from the new house being built next door, unfortunately the noise of the staple gun, banging and loud radio which all started at 8am spoilt the outdoor experience. We will be booking again though in the hope that the house may be built when we return.
Property was perfect from the outside with a lovely garden. the inside of the property was a bit dated. The water from the upstairs bathroom sink took ages to become warm and I felt you wasted so much water as you had to run the tap for quite a while before it became tepid, apart from that the house was well equipped
Probably the best holiday cottage we've stayed in. Absolutely immaculate, tons of space, lovely layout and the best location. Probably the most well equipped kitchen we've seen in a holiday house too. Absolutely fantastic, we'd love to return.

What a perfectly situated house. Beautiful. The house is well equipped, with a lovely garden and fantastic views. Not too far from anywhere and access to Windermere can be reached via foot. We had a fantastic holiday and will be looking to book again for next year. Thank youl.
Wonderful stay. The design of the house makes it a joy to stay in. Beautiful views. Very clean.

Super property with gorgeous views. Very happy with the accommodation and cleanliness throughout. Hope to be back in 2023
It really was a wonderful place to stay. The only issue we had was the hot water. We didn't have any for a couple of days, someone did come out on our second be day & advised it was because we had run 2 baths simultaneously in one morning. Even putting it on boost didn't work. However, it was a minor issue as there were the showers. Still a spacious beautiful home in an ideal spot.

The property was delightful to stay in a definite for the future
Excellent location near great walks views and town. House quiet comfortable and warm. One en suite and one shared bathroom a little inconvenient for 6 adults. On night 4 of a week stay the water heating failed leaving us with no hot water. Fortunately two electric showers. Two plumbers cured the problem on night 6 however the water was then scalding hot. We left a warning note to that effect upon leaving. Unusually fantastic library of interesting books.

March House is a fabulous property with beautiful gardens we loved everything about it apart from the bed in the master bedroom for which we drew the short straw! It was extremely firm & unforgiving & is the only reason why we couldnt return. Maybe a memory topper?
We had a lovely week in March House, was lovely and clean on arrival and felt very welcoming. Set in a peaceful location although the builders next door spoilt this at times! House is lovely to relax in which is just what we were looking for. Close to Windermere and all the facilities. Garden was great for evening drinks before dinner and reading in the afternnons. and our dog loved it. We will be back for sure.

The expectations were met to a degree. The first thing I do on arrival is take a look round and read notices. One notice said when leaving wash crockery wipe work surfaces and wipe fridge freezer out . Well I know your cleaners dont have much time but these things need checking. The fridgefreezer was dirty crockery in cupboards was dirty the microwave was dirty and the baths didnt look like theyd been cleaned. When you went in the bathroom it didnt smell clean. We decided to wash all the crockery we were going to use before we used it. March house is a lovely house, its just a pity thing hadnt been checked. Mrs D Kinsella
March House is a fabulous holiday home. Stunning views, spacious and ideally located for walks from the doorstep. Orrest Head is within walking distance of the house and we visited there several times. There are quite a few walks straight from the door. A great kitchendining area with lovely views. It would be worth mentioning for future guests that a bbq is supplied, the garden is fully enclosed for dogs and that Windermere is an easy 20 minute walk away through a pretty wood. It is the perfect country retreat being quiet and secluded yet minutes from the bustling town. We would highly recommend it.
March House is situated in a lovely location with amazing views. We can see why it is an upside down living accommodation. Nice peaceful area and close to all amenities. Going back in 2022.
We were very lucky all week with the weather. The House was great too, it is big so we had plenty of room to spread out.
Fantastic location. Quality facilities & views.
House was in a good location and had everything we needed. It was nice and quiet and really spacious. There were a few minor things but overall we loved it at this property and would consider using it again.
The position of the property was perfect. Peaceful surroundings with wonderful views and walks from the doorstep. The property was lovely, spacious and very well equipped. It was also very warm.
March House in an Excellent property which was very well equipped and a credit to the owners and we could not fault it in any way. The only downside was the week of wet weather, It was very useful to have a boot room that enabled me to clean and dry our dogs before entering the property.
