We loved our stay at Ivy Bank. The house is only a few minutes walk away from the centre of the town and Lake Windermere. The house itself was spotlessly clean with everything provided for a comfortable stay. The Christmas tree was a lovely touch, as was the tea, coffee and biscuits for when we arrived. The beds were really comfortable, and the underfloor heating in the living room was very welcome! We would definitely return and highly recommend Ivy Bank if you are looking for getaway to the Lakes.
Great cottage warm and cosy with the log burner and complimentary wood. Easy access to Bowness town centre within minutes. Have stayed at this cottage a number of times and would highly recommend it.
Perfect place to enjoy all the lakes has to offer Very clean , the most comfortable furnishings . 2 immaculate bathrooms . Very comfy bed . Attention to detail . The decor was beautiful . Cannot praise enough .
Great location for visiting the Lakes. The house was clean and everything we needed was there. The soap dispensers in the bedrooms were both empty, but would have been helpful. The key safe is at knee level and arriving in the rain and dark meant it was difficult to access. The plumbing system means that when you are downstairs you know when someone is using the bathrooms. Very noisy

Lovely house, very clean and perfect location, good parking and dog friendly and had everything we needed, I thought the living area and kitchen was quite dark with been on lower level but we were out all the time enjoying the surrounding areas and the weather so wasn't a problem really. Absolutely stunning and immaculate property with everything you need. It's in a great location in BownessonWindermere, within walking distance to shops, pubs and restaurants. There is also a designated park space to the rear of the building, which is always a bonus! We loved it so much, we've booked it again for November. Our two dogs loved it too!

Great location, really comfy beds we all slept really well. Cottage was lovely & clean & homely. The description says the property is dog friendly but dogs are only allowed on lower ground floor, This Needed to be mentioned in the description. Also parking space is very small. We couldnt use the space as our car audi Q7 was to big & no street parking as mostly permit only. We had to park in the high street most evenings which was not ideal. Also I didnt read the property description correctly & didnt realise both bathrooms on same floor, nothing on lower ground floor or 1st floor

Great property in a good location in walking distance to Bowness. We have stayed here 3 times and really like the cottage which is a good size. Definitely recommend this property if you want to be close to the town and be in comfort in this lovely warm property. Wood provided for the fire which is an added bonus.

Exceptional holiday accommodation in the perfect location. Ivy Bank is situated a stones throw from fantastic restaurants and pubs whilst being set back enough to be lovely and quiet on an evening. We loved walking our dog down to windermere first thing when it was tranquil probably 7 mins walk. The property has been well thought out and is finished to a beautiful standard. I cannot see us staying anywhere else when we return to the lovely area of Bowness on Windermere. Special shoutout to the owners who were super responsive when we had a query during our stay and very helpful when we left something precious behind. Thank you!
Fantastic property in a great and fairly peaceful location too. . the bedroom standards were all excellent and our 13 year old daughter loved having the top floor to herself.. The basement living space and kitchen were both very comfortable and had everything we needed inc a good quality Smart TV.. Cant fault the house at all, its been done up to the highest standards.

Ivy Bank is perfect and I genuinely cant fault it. We have stayed in many different properties in the Lakes but none have ticked every box for us. Until now. We were so happy and comfortable at Ivy Bank we have booked to go back for another week in January 2025. It is in a great location and a very quiet area. The beds are really comfy and the settees too. The kitchen is well equipped and the underfloor heating on the ground floor was a real treat. Loved staying here.

What a beautiful property! It was just perfect for our family. Had everything we needed. I really liked the fact that there were plastic cups for my daughter to use too. Tea, milk and biscuits on arrival too. The bedrooms were a great size and the beds were sooo comfy. There was a travel cot for our baby and a lovely high chair ready for us. Its the perfect location too. Just a short walk to the town where everything is. I loved that fact that we didnt need to book a restaurant we could just walk into wherever we wanted to eat and get a table. Also dog friendly too. We had staff coming over offering water and dog treats too. We will definitely come back to Ivy Bank. We were also chatting to the neighbours in the cottage at the back who were lovely and spent the time chatting to our daughter. I will say that parking is tight. But we found that if we reversed down the main drive and drive on to the drive forwards it was better for us.
Lovely house in a great location. Very well kept and very well equipped. Everything you could have wanted from the fans in each room to free logs. Plenty of games and books to keep all entertained. Just note that you have to park around the back no directions given and the parking space is just big enough for a family saloon. Plenty of parking on the surround roads if you have more than one car. Short and easy walk to both Boness and Windermere. Take the short cut through Craig Walk to Boness if you have a dog and dont forget to admire the terrific views and ales from the Angel Inn.
We enjoyed our week at Ivy Bank and, having rented holiday accommodation in Bowness for many years, this was probably the best one. Everything you could need was supplied and the property was furnished to a very high standard. It is conveniently located within walking distance of shops, restaurants and the lake, with the added bonus of a private parking space. I would definitely recommend this property and hope to return with my family in the future.

Ivy Bank is a lovely place to stay. Great central location to walk into Bowness and Windermere. The property is lovely, comfy beds and all you need in the kitchen. Superb stay. Property was in a fantastic location, quick and easy walk to restaurants bars and the lake. Really well equipped, theyd thought of EVERYTHING other than shower gel, which we didnt take as would have expected. Its a beautifully presented and spacious house. Wed definitely book this again ifwhen returning to Windermere.

We absolutely loved our stay at ivy bank for a few days to celebrate my mum & dads birthday. Theyd never visited the lakes before and already cant wait to go back and stay here again. It was lovely and clean, very well equipped for everything we needed and very spacious. I was worried it wouldnt be big enough for 4 adults, a toddler and our dog but it was more than big enough! The pictures dont do it justice! Very modern and in a great location! We would definitely recommend ivy bank thankyou for a wonderful stay!

Another great week at Ivy Bank,such a great house and location, Thankyou for the logs, due to the awful weather these were greatly appreciated and put to good use for days in relaxing. The new sofas are fab, so much comfier than the ones last year, and made the week even more relaxing. House is well equipped, lovely touches of the locally sourced Reed diffusers and handsoap, they smelt luxurious and amazing, thankyou for all the little touches that made it a great week x
Ivy Bank is an cellent place to stay, has everything you need & more. Suits 6 people & 2 dog's very comfortably. One parking space, however east to park for free near by. We loved the real fire, very close to centre & cinema. The cinema was a real treat, like going back in time, just wonderful. We had a fabulous week, great restaurants, nice people, lovely country walks & good old fashioned pubs.
Lovely cottage situated in a great location for ease of walking from your door. This is the second time we have stayed here and we just love it. Great log burner with complementary wood which is also great and warming after a snowy cold day. We will be booking this again.

Stayed October 2023. This was our second stay at Ivy Bank, and it wont be our last! A fantastic property. It has all the comforts you need for a holiday. Lovely little homely touches throughout. There was a welcome basket of teacoffeebiscuits, gamesDVDs, smart TVs in lounge and bedrooms and a travel cot, highchair and stairgates the stairgates made it so easy to be away from home with a very active 1 year old, thank you!!. Really good quality bedding and kitchenware. There was a really well put together info book with activities, restaurants, house info, walks and local tips, etc. The master bedroom on the top floor is beautiful and has the most comfy bed Ive slept in at a holiday cottage. We had the best nights of sleep! They obviously try to support local too with the hand wash and moisturiser from a local shop and some of the artwork from a local photographer who we met at the Bowness Sunday market and bought some of their work, stunning!. Perfect location in the centre of Bowness walking distance to shops, pub and restaurants as well as Lake Windermere, boat cruises, carfoot ferry and transport links, etc. A huge added bonus is the car parking space, which became a must for us after having stayed in bowness for the last 6 years and struggling year on year to find onroad parking, even with a permit! We have a Volvo XC90, so a very large 4x4, and can park it just! in the space. The owners are really friendly, communication is great and they answer any queries. Weve had two perfect family holidays staying at Ivy Bank now! Thank you!

We stayed at Ivy Bank with two children aged 8 and 12 and our dog in August 2023. The cottage is an amazing location and is very quiet and is close to everything you need within a very short walking distance. Everything and more you need is provided for. It is impeccably clean and well planned out. The children liked being upstairs on their own floor as they are a little older but if you had small children there is also another lovely bedroom on the top floor. Logs are provided for the log burner and there is a welcome washerdryer which we used as it rained quite a bit during our trip! We had a lovely week at the cottage and would highly recommend you stay there.
We had a great week at the property, it has everything that you would need and is very comfortable, the location is great situated between Bowness and Windermere, with lots of places to eat and drink close by.

Lovely cottage with great locationeasy access to Bowness and beyond! The cottage has everything you need for a comfortable stay access via the back of the house was a bit scruffy but other than that, inside is well maintained. We would definitely book to stay again
