We were very impressed with Green Yew, it is one of the nicest holiday properties we have stayed in. Immaculately clean on arrival and very warm and comfortable. We took along our own logs for the fire, but they weren't needed as we were so snug. We were a family group of eight, ranging in age from grandparents to toddlers and there was plenty of space for us all to spread out. Our grandchildren loved exploring the garden. We ate at the Brown Horse three times and all enjoyed our meals, it was very convenient having a good pub within walking distance. If it had been possible, I would have happily extended our holiday and stayed for a few days longer. We were sorry to leave.

Comfortable and spacious accommodation for a family get together, and for all ages. Good pub very close and lovely country walks from the doorstep. Feels far away from crowds yet only 1015 minutes drive to Bowness and Windermere with all the things you might need. I would stay again. Thank you.
Wonderful property amazing location great value we will return . Simon k and guests
Green Yew is an amazing property! Everything has been completed to a very high standard and it has everything you would need for your holidaygetaway. The location is great, a short drive into the local towns. The Brown Horse pub is welcoming and has excellent food, well worth the visit. We had a lovely time and will definitely be returning.
Very peaceful and well equipped house, with plenty of space for the dogs to explore. Well positioned for exploring the Lakes, with a nice local a stones throw.

House and grounds were great, location was great for getting around the lakes, electric charging which was handy and a good price. My family and I enjoyed our week and will book again.

A fabulous place, very clean and well equipped also very comfortable, Great location, lovely owners, would certainly recommend!
Green Yew is a beautiful property in a quiet rural setting. It is very well appointed with lovely sized spaces. The grounds have varied uses, from a terraced area to relax and listen to the birds, as well as areas for dogs to explore. There is a large crate provided, which would be suitable for most breeds of dogs this is not listed on the property details, and would be useful to add. There is much to see and do close by and a excellent pub a short walk from the property. We have always booked through Sykes cottages and have never been disappointed. Green Yew is one of the best properties we have stayed in, and we would highly recommend.

WE had a wonderful time at Green Yew and everything was first rate and all the family really loved it. We would really recommend this property first for its location as it was very close to everything and amenities , Gastro pubs etc but also within easy travelling distance to Lake District beauty spots and then lovely to come back to Winster out of the hustle and bustle which suited us down to the ground. As it was my 70th we had a few activities planned namely an Alpaca Trek which was The Helm and this again was only a short distance away the weather held so we were grateful. The House itself was very comfortable and all the family settled in really well , lovely walks close by and The Brown Horse Winster was so easy to walk to and excellent food. Grasmere wasn't that far to travel to and we went to The Heaton Cooper Gallery and Mathilde's Cafe Bar which was easily accessible. All rooms light and airey and beds very comfy , it was also lovely and warm which was great as I was worried about that but I needn't have been we didn't light the fire ! Wish we could have stayed another week we enjoyed it so very much and hopefully will return. 1010 Thanks for a great break Kate and Malcolm Naylor
