Forest Pines Lodge Reviews

Madeleine
Have visited Fallbarrow so many times but never this lodge. Lovely setting but when entering the lodge my immediate thought was it must be dog friendly which it isnt. Had an aroma that intensified during our visit. The ensuite bathroom has obvious issues with a vile stale water smell. Very unpleasant and needs sorting immediately. General cleanliness was not what I would expect. Also the bottle shelf in the fridge door was broken and half missing so could not the shelf at all needs replacing. Not the newest lodge but that shouldnt have mattered if good maintenance and housekeeping was kept up to date. Site facilities as always were first class. Please advise the owner of these issues. As I am sure similar remarks will follow.
AVOID THIS LODGE! !!! Have now been in the Lakes 7 years running for the school October week and this has to be the worst lodge I have been in and at nearly 1k for the week one the most expensive ones So dont t know where to start but ultimately this lodge is not what you get in the pictures its dated, run down and genuinely a lodge that has no attention to detail and any attempts to make this feel homely and warm. In terms of cleanliness this is where is it really really lets its down so just a small ideas but the bathrooms are disgusting mould, yellow stained toilet seats, broken snapped panels dusty dirty floors and ACTUAL cobwebs in and around the toilet, stained towels and floors. the en suite we could not actually use due to the smell ABSOLUTELY NO INE SHOULD HAVE TO ACCEPT THIS ITS NOTICEABLY FEOM THE BEDROOM and as a family of 4 we all had to use the other bathroom due to the disgusting smell in the other one the 1st thing we had to do was go to Tesco and buy cleaning products to help with the smell but actually made it worse.Nice start to holiday Cutlery not cleaned and generally not a clean kitchen. The outside decking honestly looks like it had not been cleaned in months it was just mess and rotting leaves everywhere previous occupants left coals lighters BBQ fluid all within touching distance for the kids and again everything outside was covered in cobwebs and on entry the lodge looked like it had honestly been abandoned. White Cross Bay has never let me down with a lodge and everyone has been spotless but who ever ownslets this out should be ashamed and this property clearly needs another visit to re evaluate any high star grading. We for the 1st ever came home early from our 7 day break. I also noticed there are no options to leave pictures do you not want your next customer seeing this? I also notice you may not post this so I willl keep an eye on it and if not I will be contacting you direst for an explanation and leaving as many PICTURED reviews on as many other sites as possible so the paying public know what to expect. Just feel really let down by you I await your response

I have stayed in this lodge several times now and luv the privacy and location on Beech Hill. Great balcony and decking all safe. Kitchen been changed and a big difference this gas made. Plates need a cupboard rack as too many stacked in all different sizes. Great walk in wardrobe. En suite shower really great water flow. Overall, I have always enjoyed my stay in this great sized lodge.
Fallbarrow is a great holiday Park! Spent a week there and had a lovely break. Forest Pines Lodge was comfortable and overall pleasant to stay in but unfortunately is quite tired both inside and out. A new kitchen seemed to have been put in recently which was great but the bathrooms really need an update. I would definitely come back to Fallbarrow but would stay in a different lodge static.
We stayed in this property before a few years back. It needed a refresh and thats what it has had. New carpets. Kitchen and decking. Very stay.
Lovely property but it needs a bit of tlc. Bath panel cracked, curtain frill torn,a bit of a touch up on the bathroom decor. The outside decking needs a blow and a good staining as it's very shabby. Also a big branch on the roof. Overall though I will go back this year sometime
Unfortunately this holiday cottage is getting tired and in need of updating. Not worth the high price we paid to stay there to be honest. Leaking radiators and showers. Cupboard doors with peeling areas etc. As mentioned in a previous review the ensuite bathroom has a drainage smell. Both bathrooms had mould patches on ceilings. Also main bedroom has an old mattress that sags in the middle. As I said, needs a bit of TLC. Just dont look too closely at anything. On the positive side it is a good sized lodge and has a clothes washerdryer and dishwasher. Also there is a heated walk in wardrobe area in the main bedroom which is handy. Way to expensive for the quality.
Lovely position with space for two cars. We had a couple of issues regarding a rusty microwavebowl and they were replaced very quickly after a phone call. We had to clean a few cupboards as some crumbs had not been cleaned up from previous guests. The lodge was well equipped and spacious. There was water damage on skirting in lounge but didnt affect our stay. The main bedroom was spacious but the mattress could do with replacing as it wasnt very comfortable. I would book again as overall it was a pleasant stay.
This is a nice property in a good location. Now that the Lodge name plate Forest Pines is nowhere to be seen but finding the Lodge is OK if you follow the directions. The Lodge is showing some signs of age some significant cosmetic damage heat water in kitchen, double mattress needs replacing it's just about okay the moment, water leaks around shower over bath etc Most significant issue was the ensuite shower drain smells it needs a really good clean and disinfect. This all sounds a bit negative but overall it's a nice Lodge it just needs some money spending on it! Would we rush back No. Was it okay for the money Yes.

I luv the location of this lodge, the size, and the secludedness. You can see some of the lake through the trees. I have stayed here 3 times and booked for next year. I have emailed some things that need looking at. This accommodation is far superior to some that have no character, trees or privacy. I would recommend this property as anything I've mentioned in the past has always been rectified. The decking is safe and well maintained. Walk in wardrobe is great size and you can keep everything tidy in your room.
Lovely spacious property in a fantastic position on the park. Lodge was clean upon arrival however on closer inspection the lodge needed some tlc to bring it up to standard. The dining room chair was broken unable to use. The tap in the kitchen was loose and could be moved in every directionthis was fixed during our stay. The bath had clearly leaked or was still leaking as the flooring was marked , the bath panel was broken in several places. The kitchen cupboards had bits missing off it so was down to the bare wood as well as the skirting board in the lounge. The main bedroom was a good size with a Walk in wardrobe, and ensuite but once again little things need looking at the electric box held shut with a plaster and in the en suite the spotlight was missing from the overhead unit above the sink leaving a wire hanging down. There is only 1 bedroom that allows a travel cot to fit in which was fine and even with it in the 2 twin beds either side were still accessible however it is positioned directly under a skylight which had no window covering so the child was awake early as the light and sun were shining down on them and woke them up. With a few tweeks and some time spent sorting all the little issues out this lodge would be perfect. We just felt a little under whelmed and disappointed as we had booked 2 lodges along from each other as it was a special occasion and the the other was a much better standard and looked after.
A beautiful lodge in a picturesque location. Had everything we needed.
Excellent facilities provided, and good house keeping ,hope you will find everything left the way we found it ,apart from the bath towels left in the bath room for washing, May be the WiFi could be Improved or upgraded that's the only down side ,thank you . ..
We had a lovely stay and the lodge is beautiful. Thank you for letting us stay there.
We had a lovely stay in the lodge. The park is the perfect location to enjoy Bowness on Windermere with plenty to do. The lodge itself was spacious, well maintained and had everything we could ask for. I couldn't recommend staying at Fallbarrow park enough!
Ernest
The Lodge was clean and comfortable. A couple of the kitchen doors need attention and, from a personal point of view, a curtain on the front door to afford more privacy might be worth considering. This did not stop us having a most enjoyable stay in the Lodge.
Sharon
This is our second stay at this lodge. I luv the walkin wardrobe and the size and windows. The balcony is huge and the accommodation is perfect for us. The lodge is in the perfect area for privacy and character rather than just a lodge with no trees etc., and no character. You can also see the a part of the lake through the trees on part of the balcony. I have already booked this lodge again for next year for the third time.
A very late check in due to the lodge not being ready. A manager told me that as way of compensation I could eat on them and I would be reimbursed to the value of 50 as long as I showed my receipt. I took my receipt into Sykes office to have it photocopied to be told I had to send it by email, which I did. Sykes then followed up with an email asking for drinks receipt to which I replied, still with the receipt attached, we had take away and supplied our own drinks. Sykes then informed me that as they haven't received my receipt the complaint was now closed, so they didn't honour their offer. As it was less than an hour before we were due to get into the lodge and looking at how much work was still to do before we could get in it was me who contacted Sykes in the first place as I thought my booking had been overlooked. We stay at Fallbarrow Park at least twice a year and is a beautiful place. However, I have always booked through Parkdene and never had any issues. I will stick to Parkdenen in the future and avoid Sykes cottages.
I could not work oven and they were straight out to help thank u lively place and will return
Shower needed attention drain was corroded, no kitchen scissors ! Kitchen cupboards need attention, enjoyed our stay despite a few niggles .
On arrival dishwasher was broken, however this was promptly replaced. Lodge is very comfortable and spacious. The only issue was there was no empty kitchen cupboard to put holidaymakers food in.
Andrew
Third time in the lodge, definitely will be back. Few maintenance issues to sort, some skirting board and kitchen doors need replacing and some areas of decking have rotted and you can put your foot through it.
What a clean cottage we had. Everything was provided by the host. Easy access to the cottage and almost 5 min walk to the lake. Highly recommended.
The lodge was comfortable. Good location. There were a few issues that needed some attention. One of the kitchen cupboards was practically falling off when trying to open it. The television was a bit dodgy as well, losing its picture now and again. The blind in the smaller twin bedroom wouldnt go up. Standard of cleaning wasnt great, a lot of the surfaces felt sticky, bathrooms were okay and appeared clean.
Great lodge great location
As a previous owner of a lodge on Fallbarrow it did everything we asked for. It is in need of a few attentions such as a blind on the roof window, some of the kitchen drawers were a bit loose. We did have a leak on the en suite radiator but couldnt get through on any numbers provided to report this so we ended up going to park reception and it was sorted quickly. But we will go again.
Lodge in great location, comfortable and clean but not spotless. Ensuite sink plug broke and radiator leaked. Water very slow in both bathrooms. Think iPod docking stations bit outdated and would have been better to have Bluetooth. Although we expect outside to be a bit messy from all trees the lodge itself was covered in cobwebs which was a shame as it is nicely cladded.
Fantastic Lodge, couldn't have found better and will certainly be booking it again.
Leslie
Overall the facilities were fine. Some of the cupboards in the kitchen needed a tweak eg the top one near the glasses needed tightening but it did not really interfere with our stay
Louise
We had a lovely stay in Forest Pines Lodge. Lake Windermere is just a short walk away and we enjoyed lovely boat rides there. The park and lodge are up a hill from the lake, so please be aware of this when booking if you have members of your party with limited mobility. The lodge was beautiful and clean, and was kept at a nice comfortable temperature so it was lovely to come back to after a chilly day on the lake. I will definitely be booking Forest Pines Lodge again in the future when I visit the lakes. Thank you for a lovely stay.
Kirstie
Lovely property and location but both toilets could do with some TLC to improve the presentation.
Jeffrey
The lodge is excellent and the area But there is a few issues regarding maintenance There was a few issues regarding the bath which I reported and was dealt promptly There should be a window blind for the entrance door for privacy Both extractor fans in the bathroom and e suit did not open when switched on. and there is a crack in the bath panel The kitchen window blind needs repair When paying so much money these problems should be sorted
Prior to our stay a check on light fittings to be carried out, or spare light bulbs. Also toilet flush not working correctly on one toilet
Perfect lodge for us and all the facilities at the park were superb.
We have visited this lodge on a few occasions and following our recent visit we are of the opinion that now is the time for the lodge to receive various renovations by the owners, The kitchen and large kitchen electrical appliances need replacing as the wall cabinets are chipped and one folding wall cupboard is falling off and has to be lifted to close. Both bathrooms look tired and need replacing. Mold on wall of 2nd bedroom requires attention. Although the dining chairs have been replaced since our last visit the dining table is in a poor condition. The appearance of the exterior of the lodge is looking quite tatty in comparison to neighbouring lodges as the wooden decking areas are without wood stain. Forest Pine is a beautiful lodge in a prime position reaching out for some much needed TLC
This lodge is in one of the best areas of the park. If you like wildlife it's great. Other reviews say the lodge is tired but don't agree with that We thought it was excellent Have already re booked What did you enjoy most about your stay? Wonderful lodge in a fantastic location. Really enjoyed our stay even though it rained most of the week! the lodge was more than adequate, very clean and in a quiet spot. 3 minute walk into Bowness centre, plenty of good restaurants. The location is perfect for exploring the lakes. The outside area of the lodge is also very nice, we didn What did you enjoy most about your stay? Ideal setting so close to the town. Because of current restrictions we were happy with the 3 bedrooms for our bubble of 2 as we each had our own facilities.
