We had a wonderful stay over new year. The cottage has great facilities and is in a quiet location but still in the centre of Windermere. I would highly recommend this property and I will definitely be returning. Two small improvements that would help are a clear folder of instructions, particularly the oven, and a cloth for drying the dishes but we had a great stay.

The cottage is a perfect place to relax after a day exploring the lakes. The accommodation offers almost luxury comfort with a large bath, two comfy recliner chairs and a well equipped kitchen. The location is ideal for Windermere train stations, near the town centre, near some excellent restaurants and shops if you dont want to drive near the bus route to Grasmere Bowness. This accommodation made our holiday that much nicer and we will book again!

Absolutely lovely cottage, very comfy arm chairs, lovely bed, excellent parking, perfect position just off town centre but no noise at all, nice outside chair if it hadnt been raining all week, with mountain views when we saw it twice, good heating and lovely shower, well equipped kitchen, although we didnt use anything, the only thing I have bad knees and the toilet was quite low and the bath quite high to get into to, but it was lovely and I would recommned to anyone.

Our first stay in this beautiful well equipped ideally situated ground floor apartment. Quality appliances all with clear instructions and so well equipped with everything you could possibly need. So many maps and guide books and the best equipped kitchen with every utensil imaginable. We were warm and very comfortable. We didnt use the car as the bus service was so handy and we could use our senior bus passes. Despite pretty awful weather we had a wonderful week. Easy walk to many bars and restaurants and down to the lake. Have booked for next year.

Thyme cottage is perfect, situated in the centre of Windemere with a view of the mountains. All amenities on your doorstep, including bus and train travel. The accomadation had everything you needed for your holiday including private parking. The weather we had was an added bonus. Would highly recommend.

We had a lovely stay. Fabulous location and so much on the doorstep! The cottage was clean and had everything that was needed. The only couple of negatives were that people were able to walk past the bedroom during the night which slightly freaked me out as we had the door slightly open for air. The other thing was that we paid over 700 for the week which I understand it was the height of the season but the quality of the bedding was cheap and not particularly nice!

Our second stay at Thyme Cottage and although the first stay was really lovely, our second stay surpassed our memories! Absolutely amazing location to access all areas of The Lake District. To be able to stay in the middle of Windermere with a parking space and a bus stop, restaurants, pubs and shops within a very short walk, it takes some beating. I would also like to say thanks to Jess and the owner for resolving an issue with the hot water so very quickly. Definitely will come back.

We've stayed at Thyme Cottage many times. We love it! A great location really quiet, you'd never believe it's only 50 yards of Windermere village with easy access to bus routes there's no need to use the car. We'll be back next year.

An enjoyable week in the Lakes even though the weather was not to good. Accommodation was excellent. Lots of local walks, ideal location for shops, pubs and restaurants. Lovely Italian restaurants a nice Chinese and a cracking chippy. This is our 3rd stay at Thyme Cottage and will not be our last.

Perfect for couples, clean and tidy. The driveway is narrow but we got our pickup through. Buses up and down the lake are fantastic! Will definitely stay again!

Amazed how quiet Thyme cottage is, considering it is so close to the centre of Windermere. Everything close at hand & the local bus routes took us everywhere we wanted to visit.

A gem of a cottage, perfect for two people. A high standard of accomadation, very comfortable. Reseved parking a great bonus and very close to pubs, shops and foodplaces. Bus stops on the high street minutes from cottage. Crafty baa and Elleray worth visits for food and drink.

The cottage is ideally located within the centre of Windermere, has the benefit of an assigned car parking space, and is clean and comfortable with all essential facilities. From here we were able to enjoy the wonderful Lake District.

We walked in to the radio and lighting and a bottle of Prosecco. A lovely welcoming touch. The cottage is so cozy and well equipped in a perfect location, right in the middle of Windermere but off the main road. Buses, shops, bars and restaurants on the doorstep. We arrived Friday and didnt use the car until the following Thursday, but enjoyed the lovely views from the top deck of the bus to visit many places. My only suggestion would be a second tea towel as one is not enough for seven days. Will definitely return. Thank you

Thyme Cottage was lovely. Spotlessly clean. A very comfortable bed. So quiet & convenient, 1 minute from the shops. An easy walk down to the Lake & buses every few minutes returning to Windermere. We will certainly book again.

Situated in the centre of Windermere, close to shops, restaurants & transport be it trains, buses, water cruises. Plenty of walks and activities within a short distance from the cottage. All in all a gem of a place.

So pleased we have found this property to stay in, very central to all the Lake District. Didnt use the car once, so nice to enjoy the scenery from the open topped bus. The bottle of Prosecco was a very thoughtful touch. Weve booked again, so that says it all.
