Everything about this property was accurate as per the advertising and top class in reality. Martin the caretaker who met us on arrival was most helpful and none of our party of 18 who stayed at the Oaks had an issue with the property. I will certainly hope to book again ideal for family get togethers. George

The Oaks sounded ideal for my family of 16 adults and 9 children. It turned out to be perfect in every respect. It easily accommodated 25 people with one bedroom unused. We never felt overcrowded, the lounges were very comfortable and homely with fires burning. 3 days and nights with no television requested has to be good! The hot tubs and sauna were amazing. The kitchen was so well equipped and the caterer we used was superb. Can't fault it. 100 we will return.

A large and well equipped house for a large family get together. very well set up with enough equipment to cater easily, there is lots of space to spread out with multiple lounges. The dining area is not ideal as it is very narrow meaning you sit 25 people on 4 tables of 67 placed lengthways on each other so very impersonal and isn't a nice social way to eat together. My only other comment would be we didn't feel it was right to ask everyone to strip their bed, collect towels and put them all in laundry bags and to place them near the front door on leaving. This was very unexpected when you consider the price of rental for this property.

The house was spotless and perfect for our group of 20 10 couples. We loved the kitchen and all the different seating areas and several of us enjoyed the hot tub, sauna and pool table. The views were amazing. The kitchen as fabulous and had everything we needed and more! The only constructive comment I can add is that the boys wanted some chalk for the pool que. Other than that everything was perfect.

Booked for family holiday to celebrate 60th birthdays. We had an amazing time. Great to have 10 ensuite rooms plus good sized bathroom for the other two rooms. Good communication from the management team. Loads of space and different lounges to chill and party in. Hot tubs well used . Fab views. 30 min walk to Bowness, uphill on way home, you need to be a quite fit to do this. Minor issues with equipment but management team responsive.

Absolutely beautiful property and the perfect get away for a large group to relax and celebrate any occasion! Some slightly tired and lack of attention to detail to maintenance and repairs around the property and also the grounds keepers coming to clear the chairs to the property before check out wasn't welcomed, especially as it is quite an early checkout. 11am would be a far better time!

The cottage is very nice, very big, very clean, the kitchen has all the appliances and accessories, . The children loved it and the adults as well. I am heavily recommend it. We love it.

What a weekend! We celebrated a 30th birthday 25 women ages from 18 to 70 The place is fantastic absolutely massive, everything we needed was there , hot tubs kept clean and topped up, Sarah was there at hand if needed, check in was easy and not complicated, the rooms where fantastic clean and tidy fresh bedding on before we arrived. The kitchen was big enough for us to cook a meal for 24 of us and plenty of seating area.... would definitely recommended..... a 25 minute walk into bowness where there were pubs to eat and drink at and easy enough to get a taxi back if needed .... we will hopefully be back in the future

I visited the Oaks with a group of 19 girlfriends last weekend. The Oaks is a very beautiful property with amazing views across a valley and the surrounding area is wonderful with lots to do and good restaurants. The Oaks is a luxury property and is even better than the photographs on the Sykes Cottages site. The interiors are tastefully and well furnished with lots of different seating areas, the kitchen is very well equipped with a large wine fridge which was very important for our party! The bedrooms are luxurious with excellent showers and bathrooms and for such a vast property it was lovely and warm. We thoroughly enjoyed the two large hot tubs and sauna. Sarah from the office was most helpful before and during our stay, as was Martin. Any queries were quickly addressed. We were so impressed we hope to visit again next year. Thank you to everyone at the Oaks.

An outstanding house that delivers in every way. The facilities were superb, there was barely anything missing that you could wish for Maybe a couple of Air Fryers, cleanliness was second to none, the grounds were outstanding and the staff were extremely helpful. We had the house full of people and not at any time did it feel like there wasn't enough space, a really relaxing place to stay. Would highly recommend and we look forward to staying there again soon.

Absolutely amazing house with incredible views, facilities and staff. It exceeded our expectations which were already high having viewed the online videos etc. I celebrated my birthday with 22 friends and family and nothing could have been better, we stayed at the house from Friday to Monday never leaving it just making the most of the grounds, hot tub and sauna. We have just returned from a 7 day break at this property. We had a group of 25 made up of 12 adults and 13 kids age range 111. The house is fantastic. The grounds and gardens are stunning. The view over the hills is amazing. It really has everything you need for a big group. There are 4 separate lounge areas with several TVs which came in very handy with kids. Some of the TVs have sky too so ideal for watching the golf and cricket while we were there. The house was able to accommodate everyone without ever feeling busy or on top of each other. There is pretty much a bathroom or ensuite for each bedroom. The shower water pressure is excellent. The kitchen is great. Huge open space with 4 ovens and 4 dishwashers. The ice machine was a hit too on the hot days. The facilities are first class the sauna and 2 hot tubs are perfect. There is a pool table too. I asked everyone for their feedback before we left and genuinely nobody had a bad word to say about anything. We would 100 recommend to anyone who is thinking of staying here. Finally the communication from the management team on site is excellent. Thank you to Sarah and Jo for their help with everything. We will be back soon as soon as we can find a date suitable for all 25 of us!

Excellent location and modern kitchen and bathroom facilities. lots of games and things for the younger element and quiet places for the older people. lovely on site staff who are friendly and helpful.

A wonderful place! Spacious and somehow cosy. The two hot tubs were excellent for adults and the children. Excellent catering suggested and provided for three days. We were 25 people ranging from 10 months to 74years of age and we had travelled from around the world to be together as a family. The oaks gave us exactly what we didnt know we needed. Time and space to be together. Thank you.

Excellent property. This was our second stay at the property and it did not disappoint.

This property was outstanding, 20 adults and 2 kids, all catered for perfectly, we moved the dining area to the room with the pool table, made more of a square table and it worked better for us, we obviously put it back after.

This is a stunning property for a large family group. Appointed to a very high standard. Fantastic kitchen facilities. A wonderful mix of space to be together and also corners to retire too. The beautiful views were a bonus. Highly recommend.

The Oaks is a beautiful house, 18 of us stayed and it catered for all of our needs. The photos were what drew us to book the house, however, even these do not do the house justice. It is immaculately clean, we had everything we needed and the hot tubs and sauna were a real treat! The showers were hot despite the number of us using them at the same time. The location is wonderful just a short walk into Windermere with some beautiful tracks for us to explore the nearby hillsviewpoints. The views from the house were beautiful too. This is a very special property. We held a 50th birthday party here over a week in November and had a spectacular time. The house has every comfort imaginable and the sauna, hot tubs and pool table were particularly popular! The huge kitchen was a focal point so well equipped and so many dishwashers, cookers, kettles etc. A number of people commented on how comfortable the beds were. Spotlessly clean. Well done to Sarah and the team they could not have been more helpful!

The Oaks Country House was perfect for our family holiday. We numbered 21, and were 3 generations from 3 continents UK, USA and Australia. The house is very well equipped, furnished, clean, spacious, and obviously well cared for by the managers. It has a fabulous kitchen area with everything youd need. Communication was excellent and the welcome much appreciated. There was room for everyone, the leisure area was well used, as was the dining room, which easily accommodated our party. We were able to easily access walks and Lake District tourist spots by car and foot. We'd highly recommend a stay here.

What a wonderful place! Everything wonderful, magical and sparkling. We hired for a large group celebrating our friends wedding and it fit the bill and more. Could not have asked for a better location spot the deer! and for so many people in one place we all could find a quiet spot or a noisy one depending on what you wanted. The facilities were great with a cleaner coming each day of our hire to clean the hot tubs, so many ovens, plenty of plates and utensils. Could have done with more mugs and tall glasses but Im now being picky. We loved it and so pleased to have been able to have the privilege to have stayed.

The house was even better than the pictures on the website. It was a perfect location, the owner had thought of everything and we did not want for anything. The local information provided by the owner was really useful. The hot tub maintenance during our stay was excellent. We would definitely recommend the property.

The property is fantastic with great facilities and great location. We were a family gathering of 24 people yet there was enough space to always find a quiet sitting room or to gather togeher as a large group. The well equipped kitchen and dining facilities mean that we could prepare meals and enjoy them together. The hot tubs were wonderful. If anyone is looking for a large property for a luxury holiday with familyfriends then we can highly recommend.

The Oaks exceeded our expectations. My extended family 12 of us stayed a week and enjoyed the spacious accommodations 12 rooms, large kitchen 3 refrigerators and 3 dish washers and large dining area seating for 32 with views of rolling hills and grazing sheep. Multiples sitting rooms and places to watch tv, play games and read were also appreciated. Very memorable week in an exceptional property!

We really enjoyed our stay at The Oaks. We are a big group and have stayed at many properties across the UK. This is the best property we have stayed at!

This was a perfect venue for a family event to celebrate my husband's 75th birthday. All our guests loved the house and there was something for everyone from the youngest of our grandchildren aged 6 to the more mature guests. The grounds and views are wonderful and there were plenty of local walks to suit all abilities. The house is a convenient 20 minute walk away from Bowness and all its facilities. The manager of the site was also very helpful.

We all had a great time and will be booking the Oaks again when an anniversary such as our recent Diamond Wedding comes around. The staff at the Oaks were very helpful when we arrived for the start of our holiday. And I will certainly recommend the Oaks to the people I know. In the future. Thank you.

Beautiful house, great location well equipped thanks for 3 great days

Another excellent stay at The Oaks. We stayed over the weekend for a friend's surprise 60th birthday and we had a fabulous time. The house is extremely comfortable and well equipped. All the rooms are nicely decorated and there are lots of communal spaces too. The two hot tubs were a big hit as was the sauna. We have talked about making it an annual trip.

The property was beautiful, had everything you could think of and was perfect for our group stay. The view out of the back of the property was superb, great to look at whilst sat in the jacuzzi! The location was great it? it was only a short walk into Bowness. Would highly recommend the property to anyone for a large group stay. There was a small issue with the WiFi and not all the guests were able to access it. This was not a huge issue though.

An excellent property in which the photos don't do it justice and its better in real life. A few issues cropped up during the week which you would expect for a property of this size but all issues were dealt with efficiently. Should we need a property of this size again then we will be back.
