Cottage was lovely, location great only a few issues 1 the sofas not very comfortable 2 the mattress for me left with a bad back 3noTV needed to be lowered to middle shelf so easier to watch 4why was the smoke alarm in bedroom and not in hallway ? ? 5 Not a big fan of locked door upstairs hallway why ?? 6 wood burner instructions should be by the fireplace
Awful locationbetween the school and paper factory. Really struggled to find a parking space near to property. Needs a new key safe, Had to wash all pots on arrival.they had been put away dirty. Traffic insanely busy, city level. Couldnt do bin as neighbour on one side parks van in back garden, blocking exit. Neighbour on other side partied until 3.00 am on night of our arrival. Needs new mattress.no support at all. All in all a thoroughly depressing place.

We really enjoyed our time at Stone Cottage! The place was lovely. It was the perfect spot to rest after a day of exploring the Lake District. We especially loved the woodburning fireplace. You could tell a lot of care had been put into this cottage. We'll be recommending it to any of our friends and family! We'd say that the cutlery and crockery could do with a scrubbing. A few of the items were a bit dirty. But, we didn't mind a bit of washing up ourselves. We still really enjoyed the cottage!
Just a lively place to spend time. Garden great.House lovely.
Our second stay at Stone Cottage and it won't be our last. We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage and also the village, which is perfect
Wonderful cottage in a perfect location. Everything we needed and the welcome jam and bottles of beer were a lovely touch.
Lovely cosy cottage in the village. The cottage had everything we needed . We liked the conservatory. Very comfy bed in a large bedroom. Good shower . We were able to park outside on the street for the whole time. We used the local buses to get to Ambleside, Windermere and Kendal. We didn't find the chairs in the lounge that comfy but this didn't detract from our overall stay. We really liked the cottage and the village. There are some lovely walks from the door.Thank you.
Lovely cottage in a beautiful location. Cottage itself was small but very clean & well equipped with everything you would need. The conservatory was a big plus, lovely to sit with a glass of wine, looking out into a beautiful garden which define got the seal of approval from out Jack Russell. The village itself was great with places to eat and drink and no need to use the car as the bus service to the Lakes was brilliant. Would definitely recommend & return.
Really enjoyed Stone Cottage. Very comfortable, great bathroom and everything we needed. Many thanks.
We enjoyed the stay and really liked the cottage and area around. Unfortunately we had to leave on the Thursday having only arrived on the Sunday! but that was no reflection on the property itself, which was really nice.

Very comfortable cottage in a lovely village which has everything you could need. Lovely pub serving great beer and food, chippy, spa and cafes, what more could you want. Secure garden for those staying with 4 legged friends and nice walks straight from the cottage. Would happily stay again.

Lovely cottage and well equipped. Lounge area a little dark and lack of table lamps which would make the downstairs fell more homely. Only a minor comment as the cottage was lovely. On arrival it was nice to have a few local beers on the table but after a long journey may be a small milk bottle and a few biscuits would be nice. Loved it and would rebook.
Nice little cottage, clean. Dont think the bed is a king size as per the listing, dogs arent supposed to go upstairs which I cant remember reading prior to booking but was stated in the handbook. Location handy for popping into Windermere and not far from Ambleside. Staveley is a small place, we visited the brewery whilst we stayed and also used the chip shop and pizza takeaway, both are excellent. We went for breakfast to Wilfs which was really nice.

A lovely cottage updated and well maintained. We particularly liked the garden Ted loved chasing after his ball in this long pretty garden. Please note if you do have a dog that the other cottages have access into the garden. This was not a problem throughout our stay. Parking is on the road but again it was not a problem parking in front of the cottage . The bedroom was very big with a comfy bed. I could not fault this cottage and would happily stay again if staying in Staveley.
Lovely cosy cottage with all the facilities you need. Great secure garden too. Locality great for accessing other parts of the lakes. Our second stay and hopefully not the last. Fab ice cream shop in Staveley.
Very nice cottage, clean and maintained well, good location.
This is the second cottage we have stayed in through Sykes. It is in the very nice village of Staveley in Cumbria. The cottage was very comfortable especially the bed! and clean. Everything we could possibly need was supplied in the kitchen. Beautiful rhododendron in the church grounds directly opposite to wake up to each morning!
Brilliant stay and couldnt have asked for a better place. Village had everything we needed and beautiful walks nearby

We love staying at stone cottages very homely and everything you need
Lovely location really close to all the shops and amenities. Was missing some basic necessities like olive oil, which would have been handy for cooking, and only 2 toilet rolls were provided for the whole weeks stay. The bed was comfortable and the garden was lovely found the house to be quite dark though.
Great cottage Very welcome couple of beers and jam. Everything you need is in the cute cottage. Close to the brewery and local pub.
We stayed for 3 nights and it wasn't long enough! !! The cottage was perfect and had everything we needed. It was beautiful! The local village was a 5 minute walk with great amenities We enjoyed a lovely meal at the Eagle and Child. We were lucky with the weather one day so did the Dale's Way walk which was amazing. Close to other places too like Ambleside and Windermere. This was a perfect base and I didn't want to leave. Would highly recommend. It was beautiful
Wonderful cottage, well equipped, really helpful welcome book and extremely clean. Village is a great location for exploring the lakes and bus service was efficient and reliable.
A short break in rainy Staveley in the Lake District was made more pleasant by the lovely light conservatory on the back which was well used during our stay for eating, relaxing and doing a jigsaw. It was comfortable and well equipped with a secure garden for our dog. The on street parking is first come first served which could be a bit of a problem if you wanted to park your car outside your cottage.
A house with a surprise a fine conservatory and a sunny, deep garden. Miles of walking opportunities around and ample maps to discover them!
Lovely cottage in a gorgeous village. Great garden for our dog Thoughtful welcome gifts of beer and jam. Fab base to explore the lakes. Windermere and Kendal easily accessible by train. Great pub and brewery, both do delicious food and chippy has fish to die for. Highly recommended

This was a beautiful cottage with every attention to detail. The village was fabulous with a butchers, Spar, Post Office, amongst other great independent shops. There is also a train station and you can go as far afield as Glasgow and Edinburgh or London!! There are so many nearby towns, lakesides etc to visit it is a fantastic base for walking too. I would definitely recommend stone cottage and Staveley and would also return for a longer period.

Homely and cosy we will definitely be booking this cottage again great location and the added space with the conservatory and present garden. We loved our stay.
We have just enjoyed a wonderful week away in the Lake District staying in a very cosy cottage in Staveley. It was a real home from home, warm and welcoming. It had everything you could possibly need from a comfortable holiday home. It was spotlessly clean and extremely well equipped. The village was quiet and peaceful, with local shops, including fish and chips and an excellent bakery. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this lovely holiday cottage. Thank you.
Our third visit to Stone Cottage and still as charming and homely as ever. We will be back!

Fabulous holiday perfect cottage for two and paws, really well equipped, comfy bed, great compact kitchen Neff oven with a sliding door swoon, great additional space with the conservatory really useful in our wet week and no doubt divine in summer, enclosed and long garden for dogs, good shower and woodburner. Staveley itself amazing holiday base. Nice eateries More Artisan Cafe and Bakery divine dishes, cakes, sourdough and coffees Mr Duffins coffee roast their own beans, nice slabs of cake and really good coffee Kimis Gelato divine homemade ice cream, around 10 different flavours Eagle and Child Pub proper pub, fire, pub meals divine cheese pie providing wetweather comfort food at its finest and has a quiz night Hawkshead Brewery taproom great craft beer Butchers really good quality Spa Shop with all the bits you might need Chippy again good quality. And most of the above cafebakery, pub, brewery taproom, coffee shop and gelato shop are dog friendly and within 10 minutes of this cottage. As is a giant bike shop more like a warehouse full of kit, bikes, clothes etc. Then location lots of lovely walks nearby some right from the door, including some easy ones for our creaky legged dog great location for keen cyclists full of happy muddy folk in our wet week has a train station so you can get really easily to Windermere which has a big Booths regular buses good location for exploring that bit further into Grasmere, Ambleside etc. We love Staveley grabbed our hearts and this cottage is a perfect base, especially for dog lovers too. Thank you and thanks for the welcome gift of beer and jam both enjoyed and that jam was so fruity and divine and perfect for the sourdough from More Bakery that I filled my face with all week!
Comfortable and cosy cottage nicely situated in interesting village. Good walks, pub, cafs, artisan retail park with brewery. We have booked again for July. Only blemish is there isnt a DVD player as advertised!
We had a fantastic time staying in Stone cottage . The cottage is really cosy , clean and well equipped and the garden was fantastic too . There are some great walks from the cottage itself and windamere is only a 10 minute drive away . Staveley is a lovely , friendly village and we would definitely return.
Great property with everything we need for a relaxing break.
Because of adverse weather we spent more time in the cottage than we intended. However the tv was not sited in a position where it could viewed easily. Also the log fire was not made up and ready to light. The best room by far was the conservatory where we ate, read a lot, and enjoyed the garden outlook.

Lovely week at Stone Cottage. Property was comfortable and well equipped. Welcome gifts very well received. A few maintenance issues need addressing toilet flush mechanism and broken bathroom tap handle.
Charming and very well equipped cottage in small village of Staveley, just a few minutes drive from Windermere. House is clean and comfortable with a decent sized living and dining area, excellent kitchen with good oven and everything you need for a week self catering. Nice conservatorysun room at the back. There is a long lawned garden at the rear which our greyhound enjoyed running up and down. Bike storage available in the lockable garden shed although there isnt much space so you may struggle to fit more than one bike in there particularly MTBs. Decent sized bedroom with large comfortable bed and plenty of storagespare bedding. Amazing shower. DVD player advertised on Sykes but not present not a problem for us but worth considering if the forecast isnt good! Location wise, Staveley is a great choice for exploring the area. Only ten minutes drive or 25 min cycle to Bowness and similar to Kendal. The village has a Spar for essentials and a few cafes, also a large Wheelbase bike shop which is very well stocked. The Hawkshead Brewery is well worth a visit, excellent beer and live music on Sundays. We really enjoyed our week in Staveley and would definitely stay at Stone Cottage again if we return.

We had a lovely holiday in Stone Cottage, Staveley. Perfect for a couple and a dog. Enclosed back garden but our skinny cockapoo squeezed through the bars in the gate and visited next door. Fortunately they saw the funny side and we used the bins to make it safe. The cottage is well equipped and comfortable and well placed for the village amenities, brewery, pub and cafes. Lovely walks locally and easy access to the main road to Windermere. Would definitely visit again.

Not as clean as when we stayed last year. Crumbs left on worktops, dusty bedroom floor, dirty inside kitchen cupboards. Dog poo left on grass from previous guests. Pillow protectors needed as pillows are stained.
