Very cosy cottage excellent location wow! Cant get any better location, on the doorstep for all youre needs, found cottage quite easy to find ,has it is a stones throw away from Hole in t' Wall pub. Cottage has all mod cons you need great! Had a Hive heating system was easy to use dont need instructions. Very comfortable living room come dining room, plenty of room has only two of us brill,double bed was comfortable, shower was alright, but the button to turn on shower was very high ,so if you was a bit on the small size you would struggle to turn on. When we arrived at cottage looked for permit when we got permit found that it was last day to use permit, we rung owners and Sykes to find out what to do they did Facilitate me that was great, did use permit in Ambleside for parking has well, so did save some money excellent. Didnt no if the small electric fire in living room was for show has couldnt get it to work. So overall found the property very comfortable and would definitely stay with out any hesitation thanks to owners.

Really lovely home for our stay! Location was absolutely perfect incredibly close to centre of Bowness and easy to get to other parts of the lake district. Directions to get to the property were so clear and very easy to follow. The property was exactly as described, perfect for our group of 4. Plenty of equipment and utensils in the kitchen made it very accessible for us to cook. Living room and bedrooms were comfortable and inviting easy to spend lots of time just relaxing in the property. Would happily stay again.

We chose this cosy cottage partly for it's excellent location near the ferries in Bowness and partly because it was listed as having a King Bed. Unfortunately this was incorrect it was only a 4ft 6 standard double so after a very disturbed first night I decamped to one of the single beds in the other bedroom. However these were more suitable for children, having thin mattresses and so not very comfortable. Apart from poor sleep we enjoyed our stay in this very attractive and quiet area of Bowness with all its attractions, both on and off the water.

Very clean, comfy bed annoying plastic under sheet,handy for Pier,shops,buses,and brilliant Hole int wall pub round the corner. Enjoyed week stay very much.

The plus side is cottage is in a quiet area and close to shops etc. We booked for 4 adults and the second bedroom is too small with limited wardrobe space.not suitable for 4 adults. A note about how to switch on the shower on the bathroom wall is needed plus slip mat for bath. Several channels on tv not available,bathroom door lock not working,dirty pan found in cupboard,gas stove ..when you try to switch on gas ignition keeps bleeping,small 2nd bedroom hiding mould in corner ,key box is in poor position difficult to access and inconvient when coming back in evening.

The property was as described. Very small compact but comfortable stay. Beds were good. The cottage had everything required although we did leave a comment that a slip mat would be helpful in the bath and that their description to collect the key was confusing. It mentioned going down an alley but maybe should have just said the key could be located at the rear of the property. Great location for us with all we needed and a lovely stay.

We had a fabulous stay here. We loved the location the most. It was so peaceful in the cottage, and yet a 2 min walk takes you into the heart of bowness. There were some lovely shops and restaurants in bowness and some great walks locally. We enjoyed walking up to Orrest Head and we had fun using the ferries to get around too. We did find the fridge inconvenient to use its tucked away behind the kitchen table and chairs and the door hinges from the left making it difficult to access. We managed though and it meant we just ate out more!

A great location but front bedroom a little stuffy in the heat and very thick duvet which didn't help. A fan and thinner duvet in summer would be good and the mattress protector was very noisy as it is plastic and the constant rusting noise every time you turned over in bed was not great for a light sleeper like myself. These were the only complaints I had, otherwise the cottage was very clean and all the instructions were easy to follow, we had a lovely time in the Lake District.

If you arrive in the winter , a torch will be needed for the key safe. Instructions for getting to the house are not explained very well . A couple of throws would be handy . Needs updating . Blind on bathroom door has a gap on the middle..bedroom curtains don't fit the windows properly, as there s a gap at the sides , letting in light in the summer nights. It's a very small open plan cottage.

I really like this lovely cottage. It works very well for my father and me. The listing said we needed to bring bin bags, toilet paper and paper towels and the unit had an adequate supply of these items. Parking, while not onsite is convenient. The unit had some wear and tear for example bent and broken pieces on the bathroom window covering. This was not an issue for me and I found the place small, comfortable, sufficiently stocked and extremely quiet. Our rest was very good and the location is exceptional. This is our third stay and we will likely book again in the future.

Location, location, location! This little cottage couldnt be in a better location 2 min walk to anywhere in Bowness on Windemere. However still nice and quiet at night tucked away. Had everything we needed for a weeks visit to the Lakes. Only negative feedback is that the cottage could do with an uplift ie removal of woodchip and paint. The single beds also need new mattresses as very sunken. Otherwise great cottage!

Great location, very clean, very quiet, comfortable beds, would have been a bit more special if the fire was working but we understand from the message we got from yourselves and the central heating got the place warm quickly. The blind on the bathroom door could do with replacing as some of the slats are missing but otherwise could not fault this cottage. Would highly recommend and would very much stay again. Lovely little place to stay. Cosy, with all the main resources supplied. Beds very comfortable and we slept like logs. Excellent quiet location, surrounded by lots of pubs, cafes and restaurants. All within under a minute walk. Three to five min walk to the main pier We agree with all the other positive reviews to date. Only one very slight downside is that the cottage had a faint smell of a smoker been in residence. Easily solved with a good airing, but it wasnt the first impression we expected.

Instructions provided were easy to follow and generally the holiday booking process was made to be easy. Rearranging the holiday was simple, however I was not aware of the admin fee until right at the end when I phoned back to confirm I'd like to change the booking. This could have caused me some complications in this particular scenario if Sykes had not waived the fee. I also do not know what this is for.

We enjoyed our stay in this cosy cottage,you couldn't ask for a better location, everything was virtually on the doorstep,shops ,bars,and the lake was 5 minutes walk away. The kitchen was well equipped ,warm and comfortable living room ,only gripe would be to put a blind up on front door,we would definitely recommend this cottage and we would definitely rebook this cottage

A charming little cottage right in the centre of bowness. Its a 1 minute walk from the the shops and restaurants and really close to the lake.

Absolutely brilliant. Myself and my girlfriend took my mother on holiday so the thought of hotels or B&Bs was unappealing we wanted communal space where we could comfortably spend time together. This holiday cottage exceeded our expectations, and the location was out of this world. Thank you for a great holiday!
