Lingmell House Reviews

Being in the Lake District its stunning, been twice in a year. The cottage was perfect for a girls get away, we didn't want to go out in the evening but rather enjoyed our nights in and having 3 double bedrooms was perfect as there was 3 of us. We may even come back next year!

Lovely comfortable property Perfect spot for both Windermere and Bowness.
Louise
Perfect location, a 15 minute walk to both BownessonWindermere and Windermere. A comfortable, clean, well equipped house. We had a great family holiday. Would recommend and wouldnt hesitate to book again.
Sheila
Lovely house, well situated for both Windermere and Bowness. No issues with parking in the road. Had everything we needed for a great holiday. The beds were extremely comfortable. The house was well presented and on the whole very clean. The only issues were the porch was dusty and dirty, not a good first impression and the windows could do with a clean, also the underside of the cushions on the sofa need checking as crumbsfood found. This would not stop us booking again as this is a great place to stay.
Absolutely beautiful family home. A short walking distance to both Windemere and Bowness. We had a lovely comfortable New Years stay. Would highly recommend and we will definitely be back.
Absolutely lovely comfortable, homely house. Great location and the accommodation was well equipped for all our needs and spotlessly clean. It was a really warm, cosy house. We travelled end of October and you never know if the accommodation will be heated, this one certainly was. There was nothing to disappoint with Lingmell House and the welcome pack on arrival was much appreciated. Parking was on street, we travelled with 2 cars and never had an issue outside of the property. Having stayed in quite a few holiday properties in Bowness, this is one of the best.

The house was very comfortable and we enjoyed our stay there. Could do with a few more tumblers and a couple of beer glasses. Also, bottle opener is on the scissors and not very easy to use, a separate one would solve the problem. Family bathroom cistern was running constantly and this had already been mentioned in the visitors book. Minor points only, overall an excellent property. We would definitely return to Lingmell, it is very well situated for walking to both Windermere and Bowness. Parking was available on the street no problem. Very good value for money, wed love to come back.

Lingmell House was a very spacious and wellprovisioned property in a great location for local amenities and bus routes. It was let down by some maintenance issues mostly in the Bathroom, i.e. rusty radiator, extractor not working, constant water running into WC bowl and bath drain in need of clearing. The locking latch on the front door fell off on several occasions and the lock needs replacing as this is the only means of entrance to the house. When we arrived the key safe to the property was closed but not locked, an easy opportunity for a thief! We were disappointed that we had control of the central heating when the weather was miserable but as the week warmed up control was remotely removed from us and in the much cooler early mornings and late evenings we had no heating whatsoever. We have written the maintenance issues in the book provided and they will hopefully be rectified.
Joanna
Lovely house and a great location.
Danielle
The property is beautiful and very comfortable and has everything you could need for a short break. It is in the perfect location for exploring various towns. We had no issues with parking during our visit but didnt really move our cars after arriving as we walked every where.
Andrew
Lovely holiday. Was abit cramped for 3 adults and 2 children. Having access to the spare double room would have been an advantage. Toilet in first floor landing constantly dripping, kept me up most nights, reported it but no one replied or came to look at it. Overall we would return as we have stayed here before but may have to access more bedrooms as kids are too big for the single beds now. But very nice flat and good location.
Patricia
The property was well kept, tidy and clean. The rooms were well furnished and well presented. The beds were comfortable. We enjoyed our stay and our two granddaughters 7 and 5 loved having the top floor to themselves. We would be more than happy to stay there again.
Carolyn
We had such a wonderful stay at Lingmell House. It's the perfect location, with easy access to Bowness and Windermere. We never had any trouble parking our car right in front of the property. The property was immaculately clean with comfortable beds and hot power showers. We appreciated the large dishwasher and American style fridgefreezer. The property was warm, bright, and very clean. The welcome basket was a lovely touch and we enjoyed all the goodies. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to our friends.
We had a great stay at Lingmell House it is in a good position, betwixt Windermere and Bowness and we really enjoyed walking to the Lake from there. The property was comfortable and well equipped the property was spotless on arrival. We must also thank Sykes for their assistance too at the address the front door is on a latch and we went out for an evening meal, pulled the door to only to find my Wife and I did not have the key with us and it was left inside. After a nervous wait with a child in tow and medication in the property for them, someone arrived to open the door for us in around 90 minutes! The property could do with some minor paintwork repair to touch it up, but as others have said it did not detract from our stay. Overall, 5 holiday!
Allison
This was our second visit to Lingmell and overall we had a brilliant stay. We were looking at it again for a future stay but already booked for our dates so have had to look elsewhere. Excellent location and nicely furnished. Welcome pack is a nice touch and appreciated. The top floor bedrooms could maybe do with a small mirror just for convenience more than anything and in some places maybe a lick of paint but nothing major and it certainly wouldn't put us off staying again. Would definitely come again and highly recommend.
Angela
Well equipped & cosy, close to all amenities. Welcome pack was a lovely gesture. We had a lovely stay & would definitely return!
Had a lovely stay. House clean, tidy, well equipped and beds were really comfy. Managed to park outside most days although not guaranteed due to neighbours and tourists. Ideal location to easily walk to both Bowness and Windermere. But its a hill each way. Would definitely return.
Very clean and comfortable. The couch was so comfy and the beds were the best we have ever stayed in. There are a lot of stairs and as we had little ones with us they were not the easiest to navigate or keep safe. Great water pressure for baths and showers. Well equipped kitchen to make life very easy. Also fantastic location with everything in Bowness and Windermere walkable.
Richard
This was our second stay with Lakelovers and at Lingmell House. Fabulous accommodation in the best location. Halfway between Windermere and Bowness. House has everything you need, although maybe 2 toilet rolls for 5 adults over 7 days is a little tight. Maybe a discount could be offered for regulars ?? Beds are really comfy and the power showers are great in the morning. Allinall a great house in a great location with everything around you. Thank you.....
Katarzyna
It is a lovely, very clean house in a perfect location. I can definitely recommend it and Im sure Ill go back there in the future.
Michelle

A lovely comfortable house, beds very comfortable and house lovely and warm
Claire
Such a comfortable and warm house, a real home from home and perfect for a family winter break.
Lingmell is a lovely house in a great location,Ideal for exploring the Windermere area. The beds are comfortable and there was everything needed for our short break.
Samantha
Lingmell House is a lovely house, situated in a brilliant location no need to use the car if you don't want to The house is very comfortable and has excellent furnishings, uses quality bed linen and towels. Brilliant to come to a property that has sharp kitchen utensils as well as plenty of storage for your food stuff. Great to have TVs in bedrooms. A couple of things that would be useful in the kitchen is a lidded casserole dish and a yorkshire pudding tray. Hope to visit again in 2023...
A fabulous property, finished to a high standard and immaculately clean. Kitchen was really well equipped and lounge and beds extremely comfortable. Fabulous location for Lake Windermere and surrounding areas. Easy walk in to BownessonWindermere and great on street parking for house also.
Deborah
We were very pleased with the property and would definitely stay again. It was very clean and comfortable, including the beds. The location is great too, it is away from the busy areas but only a 1015 minute walk into Bowness
Good place to stay well located for both Windermere and bowness only fault to large settee obstructing access to window having to step over to adjust blinds at night. Otherwise ok would stay again.
The property was lovely, well located with easy parking. Plenty cutlery, glasses and crockery, clear instruction manual and little welcome basket provided. Bedding was clean, handwash was provided in bathrooms. The cleaners were still there at our 4pm check in which was slightly annoying as we had arrived earlier in the afternoon to enjoy coffee in Bowness therefore we had to go back out. Towels all had stains on them. I feel that these issues were down to Lakelovers not the owners. Overall enjoyed our stay.
Rachel
We had a fantastic stay at Lingmell House. The house is beautiful and very well equipped. The welcome basket was a very thoughtful touch and they have also provided Netflix and Prime on the smart tv in the living room. The house is in a great location between Bowness and Windermere. It is a hilly walk either way but our 6 year olds managed it no problem. The house is a great base for exploring the area. Thank you for a lovely stay we will definitely be back!
