Peaceful, cosy cottage in a beautiful location. Perfect for slowing down and enjoying the Lake District away from crowds, yet close to Windermere and Ambleside. Clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully maintained. The hosts were very helpful and welcoming. Would happily stay again.
I would like to thank Sue n Gary from Bobbin Mill also Sue from Sykes for getting us into the property very quickly, the cottage we were staying in was having problems due to the weather. This property is brilliant 100 thanks
Idyllic property in the middle of nowhere for a peaceful environment. Plenty of great walks with the dogs. Not too far by car to Kendal or Lake Windermere. Great for kids lots of games and dvds and plenty of room outside to play. Lots of little things like tea, coffee, milk and water provided as well as a fully equipped kitchen. All in all couldn't fault anything.

Firstly the hosts, Sue and Gary were completely charming, so accommodating and helpful, took the time out even when we were delayed on arrival with BH traffic to show us around the cottage, so lovely. The cottage itself is immaculate, the kitchen one of the best equipped weve had in a holiday rental and weve been cottaging in the lakes for years. The location is brilliant for hikers and families with Kendal, Windermere and even a day trip to morcombe all under an hour. Finally if you are taking your doggy family member as we did, the stream is perfect for them for a little play or washing of any muddy paws before reentering the cottage, the children happened to love birdy watching there too especially the Heron. All around a perfect 4 day stay and we will definitely be back!
Lovely friendly welcome, beautifully clean cottage, and stunning location, thank you so much, we will certainly visit again.
Bobbin Mill is a lovely well appointed cottage set in a rural location. It has everything you need and was spotlessly clean on arrival.
Lorena
Lovely cottage in a beautiful setting, within driving distance of amazing Lake District locations. Met the owners who were very helpful and welcome. Cottage has everything a family needs.
Sue and Gary, We spent a wonderfully relaxed week at your beautiful and such a well equipped cottage. The location was so perfect and the weather was very kind to us. Just one note the nearest pub was 30 minutes walk away not 5 but in a lovely location. Thanks again
We were very comfortable in the cottage and loved the immediate area for easy walks and nature. Also plenty of places to visit .
Second time back to this lovely cottage which kinda says it all. It's in a beautiful setting and it has everything you could need for a little break away. The dogs and the kids enjoyed the peacock that was visiting every day.

Just come back from a wonderful stay with our 2 dogs at bobbin mill cottage. Sue and her husband were lovely hosts meeting us on arrival, showing us round the property and recommend places to visit. The facilities are great loved all the maps and books provided to plan some beautiful walks. Very cosy place with a beautiful shared garden and stream running through if you have dogs its not enclosed so keep less sensible dogs like our crazy spaniels! on lead taking them to the toilet its around 30mins1hr drive out from the main villages depending where you visit Buttermere,Keswick about an hour but that didnt bother as at all. Loved being in a quite secluded location. Would come back in a heartbeat
Phillip
Great cottage in a lovely location. Friendly & welcoming host. We had the best week.
Maggie
Beautifully clean cottage. Very tranquil. Good communication from.owners. Ideal situation for exploring Southern Lakes if a bit remote from any shops etc. Dig friendly too. Definitely recommend
The property was perfect for us as we have two dogs.
We have just spent a week at this delightful cottage which is in lovely peaceful surroundings next to the River Gilpin. Very well equipped to a high standard, it had everything we needed. Highly recommended. The description says Pub 5 mins walk which is rather optimistic as it's well over a mile!
Lovely cottage in idilic location. Very clean and well maintained. The owners were very helpful when we arrived. The facilities are excellent. There was plenty of space for the two of us and a dog. Very peaceful location. We visited Bowness, Keswick and Kendal. Lots of nice dog friendly cafes and pubs in the area.
We have just come back from a lovely stay in Bobbin Mill Cottage and it was absolutely perfect! On arrival we were greeted by the lovely owners who explained everything to make our stay as comfortable as possible and the welcome pack of Tea, Coffee, Milk and Biscuits was a lovely thought so a big thankyou for that! The Cottage is situated in a tiny hamlet well away from noise and light pollution and with exceptional facilities including a safe haven for our Mini Schnauzer Molly everything you could possibly want for a relaxing comfortable stay. Most evenings were spent sitting on the patio with a glass of wine listening to the birds and the tiny river bubbling away next the us. The village of Crosthwaite is perfectly situated for visiting the Lakes and although there's no longer a village shop, the bustling town of Kendal us only a short drive away for everyday essentials. All in all, we had a fantastic holiday and we're already planning another visit to Bobbin Mill Cottage later this year! Lee, Sarah, Lucy and Molly xx
Angela
It was really lovely, thoroughly enjoyed the stay and would come back. Only gripe is the pillows in the main room were rather flat.
Barbara
A wonderful stay at Bobbin Mill cottage. The owners gave us a warm welcome and they also prepared some information on places to visit. The cottage was very clean, comfortable , and well equipped. Thank you Sue and Gary.
Bobbin mill cottage was beautiful and better equipped than my own house! Very quiet and beautiful location, would highly recommend.
Matthew
We very much enjoyed our stay at Bobbin Mill Cottage. All the facilities shower, bathroom, roof windows, central heating, kitchen, TV, WiFi worked properly the owners have clearly purchased the best. There were excellent walks for us and our dog, directly from the cottage. The owners recommended several local restaurants that provided to be excellent. The only issue was parking, caused by an absent neighbour's thoughtless position in which he left his car I had to reverse out each time, across a tight bridge and ended up scraping my car.
Tucked away in tranquil spot with lovely walks on the doorstep but close enough to the Lakes. Cottage was spotless and had everything we needed. Owners were very amenable and offered us another night to avoid driving home in storm Eunice. Tracy
Andrew
Loverly cottage in a idyllic location close to the lakes and very dog friendly could wish for more
Great cottage in a great location for sight seeing, away from the madding crowd but close enough to enjoy what is around the area.
Andrew
Was a lovely base to plan our walks for each day and view just around cottage was spectacular.
This cottage is in a wonderful location, bubbling stream, attractive gardens, really tranquil. Convenient for the Lakes and mountains but far enough away to avoid the bustle. The cottage is equipped to a high standard and we wanted for nothing. One suggestion to all owners, wider longer, beds!
Holiday cottage was perfect, couldnt fault it but the Admin on your side was poor. You made a typo with my email address and failed to send the booking confirmation until I chased the day before the holiday. You initially denied there was a booking because you couldnt find the correct email address even though funds had been taken. Luckily resolved within a few hours once your team realised their error but unnecessary stress.
Access to the hotel swimming pool was great & we used it a lot. The cottage was very comfortable and in a quiet, attractive location. The hosts were friendly & gave us lots of tips about local places to visit with the children. Cottage would be even better if shower was upgraded & there was a heated towel railsomewhere to dry wet things.
Sophia
Lovely cottage superb location for walks and close enough to civilisation when needed. Such a nice experience and lovely to be able to take our dog. We met the owners who were wonderful and provided lots of useful info re walks and local pubs. Highly recommend
