About Applethwaite Cottage

Original features throughout exposed beams, original floorboards and stable doors sit alongside bright, stylish décor and modern comforts.

Lake Windermere is one mile away. Orrest Head, with its sweeping panoramic views, is just 0.5 miles on foot. Bowness-on-Windermere is 1.5 miles away and Ambleside 4.5 miles. Tearooms, pubs and independent shops are all within easy walking distance.

The cottage sleeps four across two bedrooms: a king-size double and a cosy twin. There's one family bathroom with a shower over bath. The lounge has a wood burner and seating for four. The dine-in kitchen has an oven, electric hob, fridge-freezer and washer-dryer. Outside there's a gravelled seating area at the front and an enclosed rear yard.

Steamer boat trips on Windermere, water sports and lakeside cycling are all close by. Bowness Pier (1.5 miles) and Hill Top, Beatrix Potter's farmhouse (6 miles), are popular days out.

Up to two dogs are welcome. Applethwaite Cottage suits couples, families and anyone arriving by train. A parking permit for a nearby car park is provided.
