Thyme Out Reviews

We had a wonderful time visiting and exploring the wonderful areas of the Lake District and having this beautiful cottage to return to every night was simply amazing. The views are out of this world but the highlight is the peace and quiet. We will most definitely be returning in the future. Thank you!!
We have stayed s few times and the comfort and location of the cottage keeps bringing us back.
We did complete the tasks from your reminder to assist the cleaner. Review of Thyme Out We enjoyed our week, the weather was particularly kind, the walking was good and the garden area was very pleasant, But 1.The freezer was so iced up, the door would not close properly. 2.Midweek, the boiler switched of mysteriously no hot water and only the persistence of the called out maintenance engineer rectified the reason. 3.The radiators, apart from the first day a rainy one would not adjust up in temperature, as they should as indicated in the instructions book. 4. The gas fired stove in the lounge area had a note attached 'Not in Use'. The inlet pipe outside is cut and capped so not working for every guest. Again referenced as working in the Instructions Book and Website. Disappointing. David
Lovely property perhaps more suited to three people than four adults.
Great stay, its our 3rd time , the position and view keep pulling us back. There are plenty of walks and the old postoffice is a nice stop off for tea and cake with the mortal man for food and drinks.

We were initially booked into a completely different non Sykes property that on arrival was found to have a terrible mould issue so unable to stay, we found Thyme Out at the very last minute. Both Sykes and the owner were incredibly helpful and responsive in arranging the booking for us and we were absolutely delighted on arriving at this property. It was spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated furnished, comfortable and the views from every window were incredible. We feel incredibly fortunate to have found Thyme Out and will definitely return. It really turned a potentially very disappointing holiday into a very relaxing and enjoyable one. Thank you.

We thoroughly enjoyed spending Christmas at Thyme Out. A lovely warm, comfortable and extremely well equipped property with picturesque views from all rooms. We appreciated the homely touches too. We hope to return to take advantage of the delightful garden. Hiking from the door was a bonus. We couldnt find fault with anything at all. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
Book with confidence. Lovely cosy cottage away from the madding crowd. Great shower, big telly, nice and warm all done to an excellent standard. The views from the window are incredible and all build into the ambience of the cottage. Looking forward to a return visit ASAP. Kevin & Cathy
This property is all about the location the cottage is great but would be a struggle for 4 adults for more than a couple of days as there is limited space downstairs. Its very well equipped and the garden is great. Some milk in the fridge would have been appreciated as we arrived late on a Saturday evening, also there was no kitchen towel and no spare loo roll which I found unbelievable we have never stayed at a rental property where this wasnt available and the last thing we want to do on holiday is go shopping for loo roll!
Lovely place to stay. Our second visit would highly recommend
This is not unique to Thyme Out, cottage isn't warm enough! The radiators are on minimum settings and hours. As with many stays in The Lakes at least oncetwice a year we experienced sun, rain, hail and snow and there should be the option to make a place warmer. I also could not have a bath as the shower water temperature was not warm enough. Shame. However, Troutbeck is a fabulous area and no doubt Ill be back in one the Cottages soon .

Lovely stay at lovely cottage. Only two of us so very comfortable. Couple of small maintenance issues with a blind and overhead cooker extractor. Did not trouble us too much so reported on day of departure. Assume now all put right . Views and local walks outstanding. Two great foodie pubs and charming cafe within easy walking distance. Will hopefully be returning soon. Such a relaxing and tranquil cottage and surroundings.
Generally speaking we found the cottage and garden to be comfortable and a home from home. However there were some things that could have been better. I agree with comments left in the guest book that the sofa is not particularly comfortable. There was the usual issue of not enough cutlery when there is a dishwasher, numerous spoons including soup spoons but only 4 forks! The shower hose in the main bathroom has so many leaks that it was not useable. Both the extractor fans in the bathroom and kitchen need a good clean. Saucepans that hadnt been washed properly had been put back in the cupboard. We throughly enjoyed our week at Thyme out but just feel that a bit more care and attention is required as mentioned above. However we would certainly return.

Excellent cottage. Ground floor bedroom ensuite shower pressure needs adjusting to avoid scalding on the high setting. Low pressure light comes on. Could do with at least one large saucepan.
Lovely cottage in terrific location
We had a fantastic time. Views amazing and accommodation very clean and comfortable. Fantastic location. A few things we thought were missing a freezer would have been beneficial. Larger dishes serving bowls for salads or meals. Handles on pans were quite loose. We would come again.

We had a lovely week away , the cottage has everything that you could need , beautiful views , we had a couple of issues , Building work is been carried out on another property , so get get woken up very early and its ongoing all day , which is such a shame because it would be so peaceful , also there were some funny smells in both bathrooms , maybe a drain issue , nothing too major though
Darren
The gutter above the side porch is broken where it joins the other roof and when rains theres a poor down of water such is very loud on a night time. Other than that, excellent cottage, no issues
The cottage is well situated, very quiet with beautiful views across the valley. An ideal location for walking without using a car.
Patricia
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Thyme Out. The property is beautifully presented. Modern, cosy and just perfectly placed in beautiful countryside. Views from cottage outstanding. Lots of walking without needing to drive. We loved the restful atmosphere . Very generous hosts. Welcome packs much appreciated.
Thyme Out cottage is cosy and comfortable and is ideally located for great walks straight from the front door. We had a wonderful stay and would recommend it. Shame there was no room for a Christmas tree
Lyndsay
Thyme Out is a superb holiday cottage. An excellent renovation, commanding sublime views over the Troutbeck valley. Equipped to an extremely high standard. Beautiful furnishings. Certainly a cottage we would return to.

Ensure clarity of parking spaces as someone was in our space when we came back late one evening
Great stay with a comfy cottage, everything on hand and marvellous views
Beverley
After arriving tired and hungry after a 4 hour journey we found the cottage kitchen was not cleaned . This was totally unacceptable and more importantly did not ensure guests safety covid.Neither bathroom extractor fans or cooker fan were working.Although the company quickly attended to this when informed.I do not feel the company is concerned for their guests safety .
The cottage was lovely, very comfortable and fabulous views and the garden was well maintained. The shower in the downstairs bathroom though could do with a thorough clean and providing hand soap would have been helpful. The cottage next door had a different change over day lakelovers too and we noted the cleaners were there just under an hour, so much for enhanced Covid cleaning!

The cottage is absolutely lovely in a wonderful location overlooking the Troutbeck valley. It's very tastefully furnished and has got everything you are likely to need. A couple of very minor points despite being a mechanical engineer I could get the cooker hood to work and the bluetooth speaker was nowhere to be found. But these are just minor and didn't detract from the stay. Good selection of OS maps and notes on local walks. Overall excellent.
The property would benefit from hand soap. when describing the leisure facilities it needs to be made clear to take your own large padlock for lockers otherwise charged at 6 each!

Building works on neighbouring property approximately 7 metres away . Couldnt use the garden and had to keep all windows and doors closed to try to block out the noise of the stil saw, chiselling etc .Booked THYME OUT as advertised as a tranquil peaceful place to spend a weeks holiday!Paid 1000 to spend a week on a building site! Disgraceful customer service ,we should have been warned beforehand and we would have cancelled,We were never given the chance!!!!!!!! Irony being we actually asked the question are there any building works still in progress prior to paying our final balance!!!!!!
Not quite as clean as it might have been. Spiders webs on a couple of walls and dust in leaflet basket! Otherwise a great cottage with the most lovely views and walks.
Our stay over Christmas could not have been more perfect. The views are wonderful, so much so that we are booking straight away for a possible spring trip. Sofa and beds are comfortable, tastefully decorated, well equipped kitchen and the quietest washing machine ever !. No hesitation what so ever is needed in booking this property. Just outside the hustle of Windemere with Walks from the doorstep .
The cottage was wonderful, so comfortable, beautifully furnished, everything provided and the garden and view were fabulous! Loved the bedroom window seat. A haven of rest. Best cottage we have stayed in. Hope to visit again.
Our second stay at Thyme Out. Again we enjoyed the peaceful location, stunning views and walks from the doorstep. The accommodation is superb & we'd definitely book here again!
The whole cottage was perfectly designed inside. Everything you could ask for. Plus the stunning views.
This is the second time we have stayed in this property in our favourite place in Lakeland, Troutbeck. We do walk the fells and after a long tiring but wonderful day out in all weathers, it is so lovely to know the cosy spotless home is waiting with everything you need to relax afterwards. Perfect!
Very well appointed, great location, walking distance to pub, lovely views and comfortable beds.
Beautiful scenery, location and this time the weather.
