Mrs Tiggywinkles Reviews

Elaine
Our stay at Mrs Tiggywinkles was a pleasure. The apartment is nicely furnished, very well equipped, clean and comfortable. The owner obviously takes a pride in her property. The parking spot is a real bonus although with slightly tight access. The location is very central, yet peaceful, with easy access to the bus and railway stations. We would recommend this property, and would return.
We were very pleased with our stay at Mrs Tiggywinkles. The private parking is always a bonus, and the property itself was excellent. Well maintained and stocked with everything we needed. The double bed was one of the most comfortable weve ever slept in. Close proximity to Windermere village with petrol station and Sainsburys just down the street. Good links with buses and the trains. All in all, a lovely, restful week. If only wed had some sunshine! Thank you to the owners for a lovely accommodation.
We enjoyed this ideal location, being easily able to visit other interesting places. Though in the heart of Windermere, the cottage had nice views from the lounge window and was lovely and quiet. The cottage itself was really comfortable and had everything needed for a quiet break from home.
Great location and property in good order. Shame didn't have washing machine but space is limited for this. Comfortable and clean. Outside area at rear just seems like the table and chairs have been placed there as an add on and not really a space you would want to use. The other communal space on the grassed area is much nicer. Shame no welcome pack, that was disappointing especially when accommodation is so expensive and after people travel a long way it's nice to have a welcome pack. Otherwise great place.
All you could hope for in a holiday let. Very clean and everything aVailable for our weeks holiday. We left early only because we found not very many places to entertain us. Lots of places to go for a snack and a coffee but not many places to go if you just wanted to go for a drink. No music or any kind of entertainment. Went to lake windemere but car park was too far away for me to walk from as i have balance problems. The cottage was lovely though.
Mrs Tiggywinkles is a beautiful cottage in a little courtyard off the main road. It was very quiet and had everything supplied for a home from home stay. It was spotlessly clean and the beds were super comfy. I would not hesitate to stay there again. It is in a great location for visiting the surrounding areas. Also a real bonus was having the private parking space with the cottage. We had a wonderful stay.
Claire
Absolutely lovely place on 3 floors extremely clean, tidy and everything you need, had such a lovely stay
We had a lovely stay at Tiggywinkes, beautiful views, extremely comfortable accommodation, everything you could wish for a relaxing stay. Even better than description on site.
Lovely property in ideal location. Home from home.
Really enjoyed our stay over New Year. Mrs Tiggy Winkles is in a well situated location in Windermere. We enjoyed a walk into Bowness on Windermere on several occasions. We even managed breakfast outside using the outdoor garden set. The setting is very well equipped, comfortable and homely.

Our fourth visit to this property and hopefully many more to come. Excellent as always. Great accommodation with everything you need, and the perfect location for amenities.
Stephen
Lovely well decorated flat in a great location to access the Windermere restaurants and shops. Flat benefits from its own parking space but beware of very tight entrance to parking due to scaffolding for the building next door. Flat well equipped but has a few maintenance issues like outside light not working, flashing light in ensuite and the TV remote needs replacing as not all the buttons work reliably. First Sykes cottages we have booked that doesn't have any welcome pack. Sykes please note that your description says 15min walk to the lake at Bowness. It is more like 30mins as it is over a mile away.
Rachael
This was our second stay here. It is a centrally located property with the added bonus of allocated off street parking. Clean and comfortable making it an ideal place to stay whilst visiting Windermere.
Lovely duplex well equipped and very convenient for town. Would be happy to stay again.Parking is quite tricky as entrance is quite narrow if you have a larger vehicle Couple of very minor points that we found . The TV remote doesnt work very well on lot of the functions had to use controls on the set. Very little washing up liquid was there on our visit and showers would benefit from supplying shower gels . Minor points though and we very much enjoyed the location and the apartment which is nicely furnished and equipped
Georgina
Mrs Tiggywinkles is a lovely clean cottage with all the facilities that you would need. It is in an excellent location with several pubs and restaurants nearby and within walking distance to Bowness on Windermere where there are further restaurants. We used the excellent bus service and the bus station is just 5 minutes walk from the cottage. We enjoyed our stay so much we have booked it again for next year.
Second time we've stayed here everything spot on. So handy for everything, would stay again in future what more can I say
Beautiful home from home cottage. Perfect location. Myself and my daughter had a lovely weekend making memories xx
Shirley
Just 2 things really first the need to know about the stairs and the floor in the main bedroom is rather noisy. Apart from that its a beautiful apartment in a great area.
The cottage was is! ! perfect. The only thing we missed was a coffee machine. I understand that the English are more used to instant coffee, so maybe it's logical. But in the Netherlands, where we come from, in every holiday home there is a coffee machine preferrably a Nespresso, but maybe that's very uncommon in England. Other than this, Mrs Tiggywinkles is a perfect accomodation.

Clean, comfortable, quiet flat in an ideal location just off the main road. We've no actual complaints but felt that for a ten night, fourfigure cost stay we could have had another toilet roll and another towel. We've stayed in lots of selfcatering properties over the last years and this is the first time that there was no sort of 'welcome' which we thought was unusual. Even a packet of biscuits and a 'have a nice stay' just makes you feel welcome. However, we'd really recommend the property and we had a wonderful holiday seeing the lakes at their very best. One other wee point, directions provided are given from the south and it would be good to be advised on the best approach from the north too. Many thanks.

The electric wall heaters in the lounge were controlled by the owner on her mobile phone. She kept turning the temperature down on them and sometimes off completely. We had to telephone her numerous times and ask her to turn the heating on or up, because the room was freezing. It was snowing outside when we were staying there. The Lake District can still be extremely cold even in the summer. The broadband service was so erratic and slow it would not allow Netflix or iPlayer to operate, so the tv was useless. We ended up using our own Vodafone data for the internet. The amount of stairs you have to climb from the front door up to the bedroom is 28, which is even a struggle for someone who is fairly fit. They provided us with one small bath and hand towel each for two weeks holiday, which is really pennypinching, considering that there is no washing machine in the apartment to wash laundry. The property comes with an allocated parking space, which is ideal in the centre of Windermere. The apartment is located in the centre of Windermere, with shops, restaurants and pubs right on your doorstep. The lounge and bedrooms were decorated to a good standard with very nice furnishings. The kitchen was well equipped with everything required for cooking and eating.
Absolutely clean and comfortable, we have stayed here previously about 4 years ... Absolutely clean and comfortable, we have stayed here previously about 4 years ago, my wife was a little better with her mobility, but more recently it has really got much worse, and the stairs really took it out of her and she was really struggling to walk as she needs use of a wheelchair to get about, unfortunately she was in so much pain, we decided to cut short our stay and after just two days we came back home on Monday morning
Steven
Spotlessly clean, fantastic location with the added bonus of off street parking, second stay here and we plan to return.
Rachael
Excellent property in a great central location. The addition of an allocated parking space on site is a real bonus. A really nice touch from the owner to knock on the door to see if everything was ok. We would definitely stay here again
Mrs Tiggywinkles was a fabulous place to stay very central for getting everywhere we wanted to go and minutes from bus station and train. The accommodation was excellent so clean and tidy and comfortable and the views from lounge and main bedroom was lovely. There was everything we needed and quiet too. Would also recommend Brambles cafe across the road from entrance best breakfast we have ever had and staff so very nice. We would so recommend a stay at Mrs Tiggywinkles could not fault a thing and will stay there again for sure. We took the car but travelled most places on the bus so much easier than finding places to park and bus service was excellent. Fabulous weeks holiday.
An enjoyable stay with everything on the doorstep . A lovely clean property. Just a couple of gripes, the basin in the ensuite is far to small to even clean your teeth as you can't get your head under the cabinet. Also the window catches in lounge and bedroom need some attention as difficult to open and shut should there be a fire.
Could not fault this apartment, every thing you could want. So handy for everything, small problem with shower. Sorted straight away perfect would stay again
Lovely cottage! We were very happy with it. The parking place was very important to is and that was well taken care of.
Lovely property great location have been to stay twice wouldnt go anywhere else in windermere
Samantha
Clearer listing of the initial stairs to property , Listing said lake view ... Clearer listing of the initial stairs to property , Listing said lake view there is clearly no lake view Overall a delightful well kept clean property that we enjoyed and would return to Had everything that was needed and more , a usb socket in a plug would have been a bonus
It's a perfect cottage comfortable well equipped give full marks and thank you for hire the cottage to me and my wife .
Deborah
A beautifully positioned property . .so quiet and yet close to the village shops and bars etc. We found it very clean and comfortable and well equipped as well as tastefully decorated. An issue with the heating which occurred due to the cooler weather for June and my elderly mum being cold was resolved very quickly by the Sykes team and the owner so very pleased.
Lovely Property in a Great Location. Only criticism would be Sink in ensuite is too small and not accessible with cabinet directly above .Would book again as a 2 ,Bed Property but not as a 1 Bed .
Beautiful cottage, spotless, well equiped, ell situated. But as three over eighty year olds the two levels of fifteen stairs two carry our cases up, and using them a couple of times a day was a bit daunting. We were disappointed there wasn't the welcome pack as mentioned in your discription. But we would recommend your cottage for younger people. Thank you
Excellently furnished and maintained property. Ideally situated for visiting not just Windermere but other local areas too. Plenty of eating and drinking places very close by. Could not fault this brilliant property and if in the area again would look at booking it again.
I had a small item that was left behind and Sykes wanted to charge me 15 to return it to me . .. that is disgraceful and put a cloud on our whole holiday I won't be rushing back to use any Sykes properties.
Fantastic week in Mrs Tiggywinkles, love the view's .
We had a lovely stay at Mrs Tiggywinkles. Location is excellent, just off the Main Street but set back in a court, so you get the benefits of being really central without the traffic noise. Property was clean and well set up with everything we needed for a short stay, including a hairdryer this wasnt listed on the information about the property so we werent sure whether to pack one or not, would be helpful to detail that it is available to help people like us who were travelling by train and trying to pack light. Provision of OS maps and walking route info was helpful although it wasnt the weather for us to use them.
