Jasmine Cottage Reviews

Alessandro
Well furnished, excellent location, cosy. When it rains a lot it can get a little humid, although the heating works well.
Richard
We greatly enjoyed Jasmine Cottage.
Gerald
Arriving after dark, it was quite difficult to locate the property and car parking. I went up the visible road on the north side of the Post Office Sorting Office twice, without success before finding the narrow trackway to the south side of the sorting office, which lead to to the car parking area and the back door of the property. In normal circumstances, I wouldnt have attempted the trackway, which involved a right turn and a narrow uneven and steep climb. It would be helpful if the access instructions could be clarified!
Deborah
Lovely character cottage in a fantastic location. It was very comfortable and well equipped and also had lots of books, maps and useful information about the local area. Good shop and pub nearby and we did a couple of great walks from the doorstep. Also very regular bus service right outside with great views from the open top double deckers.
Great cottage but we did not receive the discount vouchers as previous people ... Great cottage but we did not receive the discount vouchers as previous people mentioned the vouchers in the visitors book we have booked with Sykes previously and highly recommend Sykes

We had a very pleasant stay. House was clean and well presented. The property information folder had all the necessary information which was helpful. Downstairs toilet was the only issue in the property.
Lovely cosy cottage in a brilliant location. Has everything needed for a few days away. We really enjoyed our stay.
We absolutely loved our stay at Jasmine Cottage. It was well located, just one min walk from the shop and petrol station. The house was big enough for the three of us, and allowed us to be comfortable in space. It has a beautiful garden area at the front, where we were able to enjoy the sun after our walks. It was clean, and also was perfectly equipped. We truly enjoyed it!
No mention was made on the website that the bathroom and toilet are downstairs. We are an elderly couple and this was a definite minus. Plus the size of the double bed was also not covered on the website
Nicely situated
Great little cottage just outside Windermere about a 30 min walk to the centrefacilities. It's also close to the bus stop on the main route to KendalKeswick. Cottage has great WiFi if you need to work from 'home' and we didn't find there was anything missing that we would have needed! The garage opposite has logsfuel for the log burner. We loved and would recommend the Mortal Man pub for food in Troutbeck. Only very minor criticism is that it took a little while to warm the cottage up when we arrived, but possibly it hadn't been occupied for a couple of weeks and it was pretty cold out! But that was quickly resolved, and the beds and shower were good!
Nicola
Property was clean and tidy with good furniture. Bathroom handsoap appreciated as well as kitchen but poor on provision of washing up liquid and only one toilet roll. When one packs for a holiday which you're paying a lot of money for each day we don't think its fair expect the tenants to have to go out and buy more toilet rolls and washing up liquid! A small thing but makes a big difference to your shopping plans and items taken home again. We have said this before but nothing has changed.
Pauline
We enjoyed our holiday. The cottage is very well equipped, comfortable and in a good location to travel to local places of interest. The driveway to access the cottage perhaps in need of repair as there are pot holes and it is very uneven in places.
Great Location A well equipped and comfortable cottage in an ideal location for exploring the Lakes. The property was clean, and the kitchen had everything you would need for a selfcatering holiday. Although laid back from a road which you cannot see there was no traffic noise and we found it very peaceful. We took walks straight from the door and had a great week in Jasmine Cottage.
William
Generally the property was clean and comfortable, except for the sofa in the living room, which in our opinion had seen better days. Beds were very comfortable, and there was plenty of storage e.g. wardrobe space etc. and the kitchen had all that was needed.
Sylvia
Comfortable and pleasant stay. Thank you.
Catherine
Lovely place to stay. Great location.
Absolutely loved our stay at Jasmine cottage, we booked for 4 nights over the Easter break. I would definitely recommend staying here it was lovely and cosy and a great location to get about and visit nearby attractions. It was clean and tidy and the beds were so comfy. Would stay here again. Thanks so much for letting us stay.
Frances
A lovely and comfortable cottage in a great location for exploring the Lakes. Were a family of 3 and it was the perfect size. We had a fabulous week and would definitely stay at Jasmine Cottage again when we next visit.
Louise
The cottage was well located. It is close to the main road and a nearby petrol station convenience store and bus stop if needed, but you can't see or hear the road from the cottage. The cottage was very clean and warm, with good internet, comfortable beds and great shower. It has been thoughtfully furnished and equipped, with a map on the wall and information on local walks. The log fire lights easily and there are logs and kindling available in the local store.
We loved our stay at Jasmine Cottage. Everything was perfect for us. The property was immaculate and so comfortable. It was a superb base for a weeks hiking in the Lakes. Would definitely stay again. Thank you!
Steven
The heating was preset to come on at 3am in the morning until 6am and it did, every morning, which disturbed our sleep every night. I looked at the instructionsnotes in the cottage and they stated not to make any changes.
We were pleasantly surprised by the facilities of the cottage. Kitchen is very well equipped. Really nice location, which is very convenient for almost all of the lakes. Very comfortable & cosy inside. Would be worth giving better instructions as to how to get to parking spot...entrance at end of Royal Mail building opposite 'Sheel' garage.
Robert
Brambles and vegetation overgrowing driveway leading to property. Felt obliged to cut it back. Parking area was a raised concrete platform, which was also overgrown on one side, which limited width of space, and so did not feel safe trying to park there. Could not find the radioCD player. Bed was very comfortable, and shower nice and hot although it was difficult to get the correct setting for the first two nights. Think thermostatic adjustment control needs attention. Good location.
Joanne
The cottage is small but cosy, I feel it could be time to update the sofa as they were not very comfortable and the beds are very squeaky and could also be more comfortable. Dont take too much stuff with you as the rooms are small, but there is a decent amount of storage in the bedrooms despite the drawers being very cheap and not opening very well on the runners. The shower room was adequate and the shower itswkf was excellent, there were also lots of handy little touches like the rechargeable torches in the bedrooms and by the back door. The log burner is a nice touch too. My only real gripe is whoever cleaned the cottage before our arrival did not do a very good job as the drawers in the single bedroom were still full of someone elses clothes and also 2 unopened boxes of cigarettes were in the bedside drawernot great when this is presumably usually a childrens room and was being used as such by myself for my 10 year old son who was the one who found them! and there are readily available matches for the log burner left in reach of children in the downstairs lounge area. Could have been a disaster! The clatter also smelt a bit like cigarettes when we arrived and I thought it was supposed to be a smoking free cottage.
Lovely cottage in a great location. The kitchen was well equipped, beds were comfy and the shower was particularly good.
If this was my cottage I would leave a starter pack for the fire and direct ... If this was my cottage I would leave a starter pack for the fire and direct people using the turning opposite the petrol station, before the Post Office turning x Other than that my stay was perfect thanks for the week x
Lovely shower, great to have the log burner as it was very cold in February even with the heating on. Everything we needed facilities wise and found the kitchen to be well equipped. There was a leak in the kitchen ceiling but this was dealt with on the day of raising. Good to have designated car parking space and handy location with spar at the bottom of the drive.
Kathryn
Lovely cozy cottage in great location for exploring the Southern Fells. Shower and log burner amazing! Fully equipped and comfortable. Outdoor furniture a nice touch. Struggled to get logs for the log burner so a starter basket of logskindling paper would have been appreciated. Lack of information about where to put household waste as no black bin evident just the green recycling bin. Had a fabulous week despite the weather! Thank you!
The Tumble dryer on the washing machine was not working. I called heart of the lakes and Sykes on many occasions, also emailed, a maintenance man who attended the property but was unable to fix, therefore recommended an engineer, who did not arrive whilst we were there. I did not plan to wash laundry whilst on holiday but did want to dry swim gear, particularly dry robe. Heart of the lakes did send out clean sheetstowelsduvets after I complained... When I changed the bed I noticed that the duvet was dirty, had stains on it also the mattress protector. How often are they changed or washed?
Hannah
Had a really enjoyable stay in Jasmine cottage. Its such a lovely little cottage, very comfortable and had everything we needed for a really enjoyable stay. Lovely location and we found numerous walks from the door which was perfect for us. We will definately return to Jasmine cottage. My only criticism is the driveway would benefit from some maintenance as it is very uneven.
Supplies of toilet paper and dishwashing liquid were minimal. We had to buy a roll of toilet paper towards the end of our 1 week stay as the one roll that was left had been finished. The only dishwashing liquid was a tiny container that came as part of the cleanliness kit along with hand sanitizer and a spare garbage bag..
Alison
The property was advertised as having WiFi internet. The WiFi was almost useless due to its poor speed. The last time I used an internet connection of this poor quality was in the 1990's using a dialup connection. I ended up using the Internet hotspot on my mobile phone which was significantly faster than the WiFi in the cottage. If I had know this prior to booking I wouldn't have booked this cottage.
Jasmine Cottage is a lovely, cosy little cottage. We ended up staying in most nights because it was so nice! Top of the list!
