Thank you for our stay at Brantfell lodge , its very spacious with a beautiful big garden, plenty of seating out doors. Lots of seats in the lounge plus a sofa bed bring your own bedding TV is just free view not a smart Tv fine for us but my mum is a TV person but it did state free view . And we are on holiday after all. Plenty of extras Iron ironing board , hairdryers A starter pack of complimentary tea , coffee, milk and sugar plus cleaning products, washing up liquid, hand soap , toilet roll. Which is sometimes good to know in advance. We did struggle to find it google maps gives different information. We eventually found it from the holiday website instructions, it is a little hidden and wheelie bin covered the name of property. Parking is very tight as it goes around a bend , so we struggled a few times with two cars just to bear in mind , reversing was best . Overall it was a lovely holiday home , very big with extras also board games , books , and a summer house with deck chairs , bat and balls etc. It was a little dated but still very nice with everything you need for a lovley break in the lakes. Not far into town 10 mins walk which is fine we did have my mum and a wheelchair so we had to be careful as house is on a busy main road and its hidden so my children had to watch the road while we crossed to a flat bit to get out safely. As stated these were minor things personal to us it didnt affect how lovley the home was and we had an enjoyable stay xxx
Wonderful Lodge in a fantastic location. There is a private off the road driveway with plenty of space for 2 cars. Interior was lovely and well maintained with plenty of space for 4 adults and 2 small children. Nice back garden that the kids really enjoyed. Just a five minute walk into Bowness on Windermere. Would happily stay at this property again.
Overall very good, comfortable and well equipped accommodation with a good garden for our dogs. It was very quiet considering its central location which was great as it gave easy access to all the nearby Lake District attractions. One comment would be that the upstairs bed headboard was located under the low sloping ceiling which meant it was not possible to sit up in bed. Also the TV was below the eyeliner so could not be watched when lying in bed.
A lovely little house, very comfortable for our short stay and within short walking distance to Bowness, and all its amenities.

Lovely cottage, well maintained and great location. Careful with the drive though, as described in the listing its very tight turning. Overall thoroughly recommended, plenty of space and well maintained

Getting a bit tired now, our fault I guess but should have chosen somewhere that is not dog friendly as dogs hairs everywhere. Location excellent, property size good , just needs a refresh!

Brantfell is a lovely property however maintenance as stated as being done before arrivals in the info folder had not been done as unfortunately the washing machine was broken. We had 3 children with us with special needs and one of the main reasons we choose a property is a washerdryer.....it is an essential as we can never pack the amount of clothes needed for the children. We did not arrive until late as it took us nearly 9 hours the journey is normally just over 2 to get there due to an overturned lorry on the motorway so we missed the first evening. I rang Sykes when we discovered the machine was broken but unfortunately it would seem the part did not arrive. We ended up having to hand washing every item needed and leaving it to drip dry outside. There is a worn leather chair in the living room covered with a seat cover that does not fit and all the bits that were coming off it were in a pile underneath it. We only discovered it because our little DS boy decided it might taste nice! The front bedroom also had a little pile of flaking paint on the floor where the wooden chair has hit against the wall. Basically the lodge looked like it had been giving a light go through as the skirting boards were dirty and the top of the bathroom cabinet had definately not been touched in a long time. I'm sorry to leave this review as overall Brantfell was a lovely roomy place with a beautiful garden, close to everything needed but with 3 children we have no time to stand washing, cleaning and vacuuming whilst trying to enjoy a holiday. A good deep clean in the downstairs bedrooms mainly would do it the world of good and we would definately return if this was rectified.
Fabulous bungalow. Loved being close enough to walk into Bowness and shop or catch the boat for a ride on the lake. The bungalow had everything we needed, it was comfy and easily catered for 6 adults. Even though it was close to the road we never heard a sound. We would highly recommend this property and look forward to staying again someday.
Weve just returned from a fantastic week in The Lakes. Brantfell did not disappoint, such a lovely comfy property. Perfectly situated to everything. Having read recent reviews about the garden not being dog friendly we took our own little fence dog playpen and used that in addition to what the property had. We have an 18 month old puppy so wanted to make doubly sure. We will, without doubt, be returning here, for us it ticked so many boxes. Would have loved a couple of comfy chairs to sit on, we were able to sit outside but those wooden benches arent comfy for very long. Just one small niggle. There wasnt anywhere to put the recycling, so we bought back what we could, I know its not massive but we do like to do our bit where and when we can D Thank you Helen, Mark & little Billy

Brantfell Lodge was perfect for our needs. We were 3 couples in town for the Arla Great North Swim. We couldn't have found a better place to stay. The cottage was clean, tidy and well presented. There was everything we needed in the cottage. The location was the big seller for us though, it's literally a 5 minute walk to the town with all the bars and restaurants. A 5 minute walk also takes you to the lakeside. We didn't receive a welcome pack but that was not a big problem, theres a Tesco express a short walk down the road. We'll definitely be back at Brantfell when back in the Lakes.
Once again we had a lovely family. holiday. Brantfell is a cosy, comfortable and welcoming cottage within very easy access to transport links and to the many restaurants in the area. The cottage is spotlessly clean and the welcome pack plus the chocolates were most appreciated. We have booked the cottage again for next year
The accommodation and facilities inside the property were excellent. As noted before the garden is not secure for a dog even using the panels provided that was the only negative feature. A comfortable and enjoyable stay and in an great location.

Really enjoyed our stay, felt like home from home! Great location, easy to walk to the shops! Would definitely stay there again!
Excellent stay loved the house convenient for touring the lakes would definitely return

Enjoyed our stay, cottage clean and comfy close to main strip pubs, restaurants etc. Postcode provided sent us to the wrong location however we found the cottage after referring back to the directions provided by Sykes. TVs could have been smart TVs families with children may struggle with non smart TVs i.e. no Netflix and streaming. Would have been nice to have teacoffee, milk welcome pack. Would stay again.
The cottage is probably one of the best we have stayed in in bowness. It was really big and comfortable with everything you needed and a lovely big garden at the back for the dog. My only niggle is that we couldn't let the dog out on his own to play because of the stream at the bottom as my dog loves water and it would have been dangerous if he had gone down. It would have been better if there had been some sort of fencing across it or a gate to make it safer. Overall we really enjoyed the week and will definitely book this cottage again in the future.
Good points, good location, very clean and an enjoyable stay . Not so good points, Heating boiler in top bedroom seem to come on various times during the night although not cold, steep tight curved drive so very challenging to get a large car discovery up past overgrown conifers on left of bank .
My first time visiting the Lakes and had a wonderful time. The cottage is very close to the shops, bars and restaurants of Bowness. A great base to explore the area. The cottage was clean and comfortable. A large enclosed garden once gates closed for dog to safely enjoy. Would have been nice for us all to eat outside. Would recommend investing in a large Smart TV for evenings in.

Lovely spot and close to all facilities. Cottage was clean and the garden is lovely. I would suggest getting a shower chair and a rubber mat for the shower as my 81 year old mother almost slipped and needed assistance as her having to stand made it difficult. A folding shower chair would easily fit in the cupboard. However I wouldn't take any points off the cottage for this. The driveway is awkward if you have a big car but all in all we had a lovely weeks stay.

This was our second time at Brantfell Lodge. We certainly hope that it will not be our last. A very comfortable property in a brilliant location to explore the lakes and to walk down to the village to explore the variety of pubs and restaurants. We had a fabulous week. Thank you.
Fantastic week in a well appointed cottage with everything you could need Already booked again for next year
We have stayed at Brantfell Lodge before and once again we had a lovely holiday. The cottage is comfortable and welcoming, providing everything we needed in order to enjoy our stay here. The close proximity to shops and transport is a bonus and means that we could all enjoy visiting the many village in the area. We have already booked the cottage for later in the year.

Brantfell Lodge is in a great location and although near all of the towns attractions, shops and hospitality venues you wouldn't know as very quiet spot. The Lodge had all the equipment we needed and was very clean. The garden was secure for our dog too. Only feedback I have is specify on the facilities that the gardendrive can be made enclosedsecure when the gate is shut as I didn't know for sure until the joining information came through. Will definitely rebook.

Id highly recommend Brantfell lodge. Location, with easy walk into the town centre was a big plus. It was cosy, clean and ample parking for two cars. The kitchendiner area was great for cooking whilst still socialising, great cosy living room area, and decent sized bedrooms with enough bathrooms for the six of us. We had a great time here, thank you
Lovely house only a few minutes walk to Bowness on Windermere and all it has to offer. The house was well equipped, comfortable, clean, warm and hot water on demand. It would have been helpful if a steamer was provided. Most holiday houses dont though. Also it would have been nice to have had welcome pack or at least a bottle of milk provided . Especially if guests are arriving late or have to go out shopping once unpacked. We had shopped on the way. The radiator in the ensuite toilet wouldnt turn off or turn down. Parking was a bit tricky, but soon figured out. The house is on a blind corner and one has to choose the right moment to drive out and when crossing the road when traffic is coming from the right from Bowness. If the council could put up a concealed entrance sign warning traffic, they may slow down. We loved our stay at Brantfell Lodge and would love to stay again at some point.

We loved our time at this cottage. It was very clean on arrival and was comfortable and cosy. We loved the location. It was easy to walk into Bowness and visit the many pubs, restaurants and shops. It was great having such good access to the Lake Windermere, from where we enjoyed several boat trips. Bowness is a lovely location to start several excellent walks, which meant that we did not use the car every day. Brantfell l Lodge has a lovely layout. It has everything you need. The bedrooms are all a good size and the beds are very comfortable. The kitchen as well stocked with everything you need. It also has a lovely garden. It was very peaceful. Just what we needed. We are experienced holiday cottage renters. This is our favourite by far. We will certainly be returning to this property in the future.
Great few days away boss location and the owner was very helpful
