Is Whimhowe Right For You?

Discover why this cottage is ideal for different types of visitors

For Families
Whimhowe has space for children to play in the sloping front garden and rear patio. A large children's park is about 20 minutes walk away. The property provides a cot and highchair for younger guests. Five bedrooms mean kids can have their own rooms or share with siblings. Smart TVs throughout keep them entertained. Nearby attractions include Brockhole on Windermere and boat rides from Ambleside to Bowness.
For Couples
Whimhowe is not ideal for couples as it's designed for large groups of 10 guests. The five-bedroom layout and parking for six cars suit families rather than romantic breaks. Couples would find the property too large and better suited to group holidays. The Lake District location offers romantic walks and scenery, but smaller properties would provide a more intimate setting for two people.
Pet Friendly
Two well-behaved pets are welcome at Whimhowe. The property has a sloping lawned garden at the front and an extensive rear patio where dogs can spend time outdoors. Walks around Windermere and the Lake District National Park provide excellent exercise opportunities. The ground floor layout means pets can access outdoor spaces easily. Local parks are within 0.2 miles for additional walking routes.

Whimhowe Reviews

We had to vacate our original holiday home due to circumstances beyond our control and Whimhowe was one of the listed alternatives. As a multi generational family we found the accommodation perfect for our needs. The house was spacious well equipped and warm. The view from the sitting room window was quite spectacular. The neighbours are extremely friendly and helpful. A point worth making is that Sat nav only directs you to the end of Victoria Road. We had to ask a householder for directions from there. Whimhowe is very central for visiting the wider Lake District and a lovely haven to return to at the end of a busy day. Thank you.
Lindsey
Fantastic accommodation, very clean and spacious. Comfortable beds with quality bedding and lovely sofas. Very well appointed throughout. We will return.
Nicole
We loved staying here! The house is so lovely and fully kitted out. This is the most child friendly place we've stayed at. We really appreciated the extra touches.
A beautiful property with fabulous views. Perfect for our weekend trip with three generations of family. Very clean and well equipped. Only issue was with the main oven which tripped the fuse box a couple of times so had to manage with the small top oven which was tricky when cooking pizzas for 8! Had a great time though and would certainly consider visiting again.
