For Families

Limefitt Park has an adventure playground, a children's play area and a stream for paddling and fishing. The grassed area near the lodge gives children space to run around. Board games, DVDs and books are available inside for wet days. Pony trekking is available on site through a third-party provider.

For Couples

Rowan Lodge is well suited to couples. The private woodland position, gas fire and cosy pine interior make for a genuinely quiet getaway. Badgers visit the decking most evenings. The Queens Head and Mortal Man pubs are both walkable. Windermere, Ambleside and Bowness are all within 15 minutes by car.

Pet Friendly

Up to two dogs are welcome. The decking is fully fenced with a gate so dogs can be outside safely. The park has an enclosed dog exercise area. Walks lead directly from the lodge through woodland and onto the fells. The on-site Haybarn Inn has a dedicated dog-friendly area. Dogs must be kept on leads throughout the park.

Rowan Lodge does not have a hot tub. The lodge does have a large fenced decking area with outdoor furniture and fell views, which guests use to relax and watch wildlife in the evenings.

Is it pet friendly?

Yes, up to two dogs are welcome at Rowan Lodge. The decking is fully fenced with a gate, the park has an enclosed dog exercise area and there are walks directly from the lodge through woodland and onto the fells.

How many guests does Rowan Lodge sleep?

The lodge sleeps up to 4 guests across two bedrooms. The master bedroom has a double bed and the second bedroom has two full-size twin beds.

What parking is available?

There is off-road parking for two cars at the lodge. Commercial vehicles, caravans and camper vans are not permitted on site. Electric vehicle charging at the lodge is not permitted; the nearest EV charging point is at Booths Supermarket in Windermere.

What facilities are on site at Limefitt Park?

The park has an on-site pub with a beer garden, a small shop at reception, an adventure playground, a children's play area, a dog exercise area, picnic areas and a stream running through the park. Pony trekking is available through a third-party provider.

Is WiFi available at the lodge?

A complimentary dedicated broadband connection is provided. It is suitable for browsing and emails but is not intended for high-data use, gaming or business purposes. The provider cannot guarantee uninterrupted connection.

What is included in the rental cost?

Fuel, power and bed linen are all included in the rental cost. Guests should bring their own leisure towels. A highchair is not provided so guests with young children should bring their own.
