Although the property is in a good location, 10 minutes to the main shops, the property itself needed a good deep clean, there was mould in some bedrooms and bathrooms, we couldnt get the property to heat no matter how long we kept the heating on. I recognise its an old property but thats not the point. The owner would benefit from adding a few personal touches to make it more friendly and attractive it felt very empty.
The cottage is exactly as described on the site. It is superbly located, a 5minute walk to the centre of Bowness via a hill that provides good exercise to climb but is not insurmountable. There are many lovely walks that start from the door with a stunning view of the Lake 2 minutes walk away. The garden is beautiful and very well maintained. The house was well furnished. Beds extremely comfortable, and tables and chairs and armchairs also comfy. Bedding and towels were also lovely. We found the outdoor table and chairs behind the house and enjoyed eating several meals outside to make the most of the stunning weather we enjoyed while we were here. Having read the last review by a previous customer that was extremely negative we were very nervous about the cleanliness of the house. On arrival, we found that although some of the insides of drawers and cupboards could have done with a dusting, the house was otherwise immaculate, and the beds were all set out very nicely. The utility room was very pleasant, and we worked out how to lock the downstairs toilet you need to turn the lock BEFORE sliding the door closed. The house is generally colder than outside which was marvellous when it got hot. On arrival the weather was a bit on the cold side and it seems that the hall thermostat needs calibrating, but we got around this by setting the target temperature higher to compensate and the house warmed up nicely. The shower in the main bathroom can only be used when no other water is running, if that could be fixed it would be a great improvement. We mostly shared the ensuite shower which was very pleasant. On the whole we had a lovely holiday and would love to come back again. LakeloversSykes has an automated system which we found extremely difficult to get through. If that could be enhanced we would strongly recommend them in future.

The new utility room was lovely and very useful. The house was big and had lots of space to spread out. The garden was lovely and we used it everyday. The saniflow toilet in the ensuit flushed throughout the night which got a bit annoying.
Dear Lakelovers, This is as objective a view as we can manage, having rented several holiday houses over many years of holidaying. We hope it can be used positively in discussion with the owners. As we found it though, the property does not do itself justice as part of your portfolio. Miyanli is a lovely Lakeland house, with a pretty garden. The bedrooms are spacious, the kitchen is large and the reception rooms are comfortable and bright. The new utility area and toilet are obviously a most useful addition to the houses potential, yet this is still not a superior holiday home. We understand that, although marketed by Lakelovers, the property is maintained by the owners. Despite this, and disappointingly, the personal touch is missing. The property is lacking in basic equipment, maintenance and detail. There was no welcome card or message to greet us on arrival. No effort shown at all, even as a gesture, of hospitality. Experience tells us that caring owners always make some effort in this respect. When we visited the Lakelovers office, we were told that the owners were aware of issues regarding the new toilet no door handle, no lock, no toilet roll holder but there was also no towel provided and no note of apology left for us. It would have been polite, and easy, to remedy this. There is also a large, unsightly crack above the utility room door. This all smacks of carelessness a lack of presentational pride. Inadequate basic maintenance lets the property down. The cooker hob is damaged and surely has been for a while!. The obviously ageing fridgefreezer has no door shelving and a damaged unit. It needs updating or replacing. The oven contains no grill pan and has a shelf probably originally part of a grill pan set which doesnt fit and has clearly not been cleaned for a while. Two frying pans are rusty and not fit for purpose. There was rust inside the electric kettle replaced only on our Wednesday lunchtime. Broken saucepan lids, no bread board, not even salt or pepper, ..... simply not good enough. None of the above is acceptable. The crockery is plentiful, but basic some odd mugs, various plate sizes and the cutlery is a somewhat random collection there are at least five different sorts of fork!. There are only three small glasses, three tumblers and two larger bottle glasses, but multiple wine glasses. An incongruous collection, with little refinement. In no way is there any consistency of kitchen provision and this is certainly not in keeping with the property pricing. On a selfcatering holiday, the kitchen is an important hub of activity. Quite clearly, there had been no inspection of the kitchen equipment for some time and this surely should be a basic weekly check. All this suggests a lack of care for guests and little attention to either quality of provision or essential detail. The new toilet has mould on the skirting boards, steadily growing as our week progressed. This is in need of urgent remedial attention and is surely unhealthy as it stands. There is no back door key. Upstairs, the family bathroom towel rail is cracked damaged and the toilet rollholder is incomplete. The clothes airer is broken. These should not be issues that guests encounter. In summary, a lovely, property with lovely bedrooms in a super location, but sadly lacking in quality for selfcatering holiday guests.
Lovely place and we had ample space for little ones to run around. Well thought of and well equipped. Only thing that let it down was cleanliness. There was lots of dust and dirt and cobwebs. Just needs a little more TLC.
Beautiful property Easy to find with great facilities. The garden was amazing we even had a visit from two little bambies. Very clean and welcoming. So close to the town. Recomend 1000
A home from home
Our family of 8 enjoyed this property, it suited our needs, and appreciated the time spent to create the lovely gardens. We would recommend staying here. We utilised the washing machine and powder that was left at the property. Only negatives were, we were only supplied 6 towels when we booked for 8, our other guests had to use the smaller hand towels provided, and the freezer was unusable, as it was frozen closed. Its a steep walk up the hill from town.
This is a lovely spacious house. We were five adults and we never felt on top of each other. The garden was very pretty with lots of chairs to sit out. It is a wonderful location a short walk into Bowness. I would stress it was a VERY steep hill up from the village that might not be suitable for all to walk. The only problem we encountered was getting hold of the agents to report a problem. I rang the number given and was holding for over 30 minutes and gave up. I then emailed but it took the best part of the day to get back to me and was too late to rectify the issue until the next day. It was however then dealt with very efficiently. Overall a very good place to stay
Parking is not great, we had 2 cars and husband damaged car whilst trying to park 2 cars in the allocated space to ensure the road to other properties wasen't obstructed, could you not knock the garage down and use this space as allocated parking space also? The house itself was perfect for our needs, the add on laundry room was such a good feature, ideal for wet coats, dirty shoes etc so they don't need to come into the house. Overall a fantastic property in an excellent location
Richard
Wonderful location, only 5 or 10 mins walk from town. The cottage is spacious and comfortable and represents excellent value for money. Comfy beds, lovely hot shower, cosy real fire, well equipped large kitchen and utility room. We've stayed in more luxurious cottages, but we really cannot fault this place for the price we paid. Thank you.
We have stayed at Myanli three times now and it never disappoints. Loved by the three generations who stayed there.Thank you.
Ashwaan
Absolutely lovely house! All situated within walking distance of the local life. Clean and big with a wonderful garden when the weather was good enough! Couldnt recommend anymore.
The propert could do with general renovation, we have visited this property numerous times due to the size and location and it is a beautiful house however, the en suite shower does not drain properly, the bathroom door still sticks after reporting this last year, the downstairs toilet door sticks, the general upkeep of the home is poor, the cleanliness was very poor, crumbs on the kitchen work surfaces and stains in the toilet.
Mohammed
Great location, nice, clean house
The house was perfect for the three generations that stayed there. , We will definetly stay again.
Timothy
The Bin outside was full when we arrived and the next collection was the following Thursday. This was insufficient for the rubbish generated by 8 in a week if it has been empty. Otherwise the property was great.
Michael
The dryer didn't work. Some of the bedroom drawers had hairs in them. The bath wasn't very clean. Some of the kitchen cupboards were quite dirty. There were insufficient tumblerstyle glasses. But it's a good size house, a beautiful garden in a good location.
