Having stayed in many cottages in the lakes this has to be one of the best, every thing we needed, clean and comfortable. Thanks for a good week.

We stayed four nights in this lovely little cottage which is in a fantastic location close to multiple walking trails ranging from easy to more difficult, and only 510 minutes drive from Windermere. Fabulous views down the valley from both the cottage and the small garden seating area, and we couldn't tear ourselves from away watching sunrise and sunset each day as the hills changed colour. We were incredibly lucky with the weather. Very well equipped kitchen with all the necessary utensils, dishes, baking dishes, coffee pod machine etc, and even a roll of baking foil and cling film. Good quality towels, bedding and soft furnishings. We really appreciated that the cottage had been decorated tastefully for Christmas we were there 2327 Dec, and were grateful for the welcome pack a nice touch. Only two very minor things we feel could be improved 1 The sofa is comfortable at first but not terribly supportive. Neither of us have back issues but did find we were a little achy after sitting on the couch for a couple of hours. 2 A heated towel rail is simply not adequate to heat the main bathroom in winter, in a chilly place like The Lake District! We have struck this before, in other places it's a modern shortcut. We had to leave the door ajar so that the warmth from the sitting room below would somewhat take the chill off the air, otherwise every time we opened the door we'd be hit with an arctic blast and then there would be shrieks as one placed one's posterior on the icy toilet seat! I should mention that the small ensuite in the main bedroom does have a high mounted fan heater, given it does not have a heated towel rail. Perhaps one could be installed in the main bathroom too. Overall, though we wanted to stay longer! Thank you, and we look forward to returning.

Applethwaite was gorgeous. Lovely location to walk from door and good pubs, and property really cosy. Looks like has been renovated fairly recently so also very fresh and clean. Small but perfectly formed and ideal for us family of 4. Thank you

Lovely cottage. Only comment we would say, is please put some padding on the beam at the top of the stairs. My head is now a different shape to before the holiday!

Cottage was lovely,great location, only complaint was the bedroom no 2 was cramped

This cottage is beautiful, top quality furniture and very well equipped kitchen , lovely bedroom quality sheets and towels. The thing I have to say is that the two electric heaters in the open plan areas downstairs are not sufficient for the property without the wood burner being lit in the winter months. Also one is behind the sofa so blocking the heat.some blinds would be welcome in the porch area, for privacy especially on dark evenings. Over all we have had a lovely week. Thankyou.

We had a great stay thank you. There were quite a few cobwebs in the bedrooms behind the bed head and a few USB plug sockets would be helpful to charge phones, pads, etc. overall, a wonderful stay.
