Lower Lake View Reviews

Great place to base yourself for visiting local area. Property was very well presented had everything you would need could do with a few extra plates etc great appliances and very spacious. Views were amazing with great picture windows. One thing to be aware of is the neighbouring property has to stop outside the bedroom window while waiting for gate to open if your blinds are open they can see you in bed. Was not a problem for us. We used our jetty everyday for a spot of fishing nice little bonus. Hot tub was a great bonus too after a day of walking. We would definitely stay again. The only thing I would change is the sofa. Only one seat and one long seat so difficult getting up and down. Does need either larger sofa or an extra arm chair. Overall the place was great for our weeks stay.

The cottage on the lake is a lovely and comfortable retreat, situated in a quiet location central to most attractions in the Lake District. It offers a peaceful atmosphere and all the necessary facilities for a comfortable stay. I would certainly consider returning here. However, guests should be mindful that maneuvering larger vehicles into the designated parking bays may be challenging for some.

I loved staying here and myself and my son had a great time. The accommodation is in a beautiful location and is accessible to lots of fantastic places to visit. But we enjoyed our stay and Id happily visit again, it was beautiful.
Beverley
Absolutely stunning, we stayed on the lower floor , it was amazing I didnt want to leave . Views 1010 everything you need in there was so excited to see a ninja blender
Tracey
Stunning property which we found to be immaculately clean with outstanding views across the lake. Maybe a couple of cushions would have made the sofa more comfortable, the hot tub & jacuzzi bath were a real treat. Wed highly recommend
Excellent holiday home, wonderfully presented in a great location.

Absolutely beautiful accommodation spotlessly clean. Amazing views of the lake and own jetty to set sail on the kayak provided was brilliant addition to the property. The sun terrace down by the jetty or up by the hot tub were also wonderful areas to sit and relax and take in the view. The location for us was also excellent, just far enough along from Bowness to enjoy the peaceful setting but only a 5 minute drive back to the bars, shops and restaurants in the town. The walk down to the lakejetty is a little steep if you have poor mobility but we managed no problem and are no spring chickens
Brilliant week away & accommodation was in a fantastic location. Clean and tidy, plenty of kitchen utensils & crockery etc. Large living space and hot tub was a lovely extra. Would recommend and go back.
Beautiful cottage with a lovely hot tub. Amazing for people who enjoy fighter jets and like to be out on the lake, they have kayaks and life jackets to enjoy. Close to Bowness town centre where they have private boats you can take out to enjoy the lake and also boat cruises where it stops off at different parts of the lakes. Please be aware the building is split into two parts. The lower lake view is the bottom part of the house and then theres lake view which is above the house on the 2nd floor. We have neighbours in above us and was loud at times. Also the blinds are automatic but when open there isnt much privacy as people do walk by.

Absolutely fabulous! What a great place. Idyllic location and view, luxurious interior, high quality equipment, handy utility room, great views from both the lounge and the bedroom, easy and secure parking, close to Windermere and Bowness for shopping and pubsrestaurants, good WiFi, large curved TV in lounge AND bedroom. It had an ensuite and a cloakroom so there were no issues with bathroom access! We did have one issue with Internet access on day5, but both the owner and Sykes were onto it very quickly and it was resolved in hours. It turned out to be the ISP. The only annoying feature with the WiFi was the need to CONSTANTLY keep 'signingin' every few hours which played havoc with any streaming that was going on at the time. My partner has a heart condition and some mobility issues but she fell in love with this place. We will certainly be back. Wonderful!!
Beverley
Lovely accommodation with beautiful views. Really enjoyed our stay.
Rachel
Fabulous stay everything you need, great housekeeping staff, really helpful . Loved it .

Lovely newly built property overlooking the lake it is part of a larger development and, although it has its own electric security gate, guests usjng 2 lower properties do drive right in front of the house not a big issue really About 5 minutes drive from Bowness busy toad not really suitable for walking. Modern interior clean and clinical rather than cosy but with all modern conveniences It has a private terrace overlooking the lake with a hot tub and also boasts a whirlpool bath onbthe bathroom Comfortable bed . Very helpful staff who are around most days. Most enjoyable week.

Property was absolutely immaculate and flawless in every way, very modern, spacious and incredibly clean and comfortable and exactly as described. The hot tub was an amazing addition. My fiance and I loved every inch of it. Despite construction work going on next door, it didn't spoil how peaceful and tranquil overlooking the lake was. The house is perfectly located, just far enough away from the busy towns but close enough to enjoy everything. One tiny piece of advice is maybe for people with allergies to maybe mention in the listing that the bedding is goose down for those with allergies which my fiance did but nothing major at all.Thank you for everything
Our stay at Lower Lake View was amazing. The listing was exactly as described and the location was perfect. The only small issue we encountered was that the propertys gates seemed to have issues however the maintenance team worked tirelessly to remedy this for us and were extremely friendly and approachable regarding the gates and any other small issues. Wed definitely recommend a stay here!
Trevor
We had an amazing time. The cottage was immaculately presented and the attention to detail was incredible. Katrina was very helpful and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Great property to stay in during snow storm. Clean and exactly as is shown on photos. Keys were not left in said location and had to wait about 45 mins to get someone to come and deliver them. Apart from that it was a great stay.
This is an amazing place to stay , the view of the lake is amazing , the boat ... This is an amazing place to stay , the view of the lake is amazing , the boat jetties with the kayaks was good to , I took the kayaks out a couple of times , I recommend you take a paddle cord with you though, as if an inexperienced person was to take them out and dropped the paddle they would find it difficult to retrieve , hot tub was amazing lovely and warm ,all cooking equipment was more that adequate, if you need a drink and dont wish to drive there are plenty of taxi services available and most know where your located ,I recommend a swim in the lake also , if your not a strong swimmer you can stand up around the jetties but I recommend swimming shoes , I feel so relaxed after my stay ,and would recommend Lower Lake vie to anyone ,i fact I have to a few family and friends already , many thanks
The property was fantastic had everything you needed. the view was amazing. Would definitely come again, 1010.

Good points Location is 2nd to none. Travelled all over the UK staying in similar types of property, lake windemere is up there with the best of them. The property is clean, had everything we needed for what we hoped would be a relaxing stay. The complaints about the fan are ridiculous, there is a tablet next to it with the Dyson app on it or you download it to your smart phone. Very reasonable price for what you get in return. Bad points Arrived 15 minutes early to pick up the keys after a 7 hour drive up from the south east and was made to feel like we were asking for an extra day for free....... not a great start. Even offered to sit outside for 15 minutes. Get any ideas out of your head about being able to stay at the property and relax. The cleaner and hottub maintenance chap seem to be always at the property. There are lovely floor to ceiling electric blinds which when opened give you a fantastic view. Unfortunately we had to leave them closed to try and retain some privacy. My partner didnt really want to use the hottub as its checked every single day which seems ridiculous. She didnt want to be sat in there with some stranger just walking in. This is the only place we've stayed at in the UK with a hottub that has done this and seems obsessive. Likewise the cleaner seemed to be there every single day we were. This may not have been the case but again, its a self catering property, seems ridiculous that the cleaner is there so much. After the first night we were emailed and asked to give a First night review which I marked as adequate because of the privacy issues. I then had to email the office to tell them to leave us alone because we started getting phone calls and emails because of the adequate rating. Certainly won't be coming back to this property. Its not the first time we have used Sykes and had no issues at the last place we stayed at at all.
Andrew
An absolutely fantastic place to stay with amazing views. Quality fixtures and fittings which made the stay luxurious. Hot tub was an added extra and after days out was a very relaxing feature.
The accommodation was excellent, although it was a really hot week and with windows that did not open the Dyson fan could not be turned down and was too noisy to use. An umbrella would have been great on the hot tub area as it was far too hot to sit outside. But overall I would highly recommend it as everything was to a very high standard.
Deborah
An amazing weeks holiday in a quality apartment in a stunning location. Our stay from start to finish was first class. Views, sunsets, hot tub, comfy bed everything was 10 out of 10.
Rebecca
Amazing property, beautiful scenery. Will definitely be booking again!
2nd time staying at lower lake & it was as wonderful as the 1st time! Sparkling clean, beautiful location & everything you need for a relaxing trip. We will be returning again for our 1st wedding anniversary.
Andrew
Absolutely amazing accommodation and views breathtaking. We stay in the lakes about 8 times a year but now we have been spoiled it would be difficult to book anywhere else. We would love to return to any of the accommodation on this beautiful site.
Lovely high quality apartment, spotlessly clean, hot tub checked every morning, excellent service all round.
Anthony
Absolutely loved the apartment, the view was amazing and everything was immaculately clean! The hot tub was great and it was really handy having a coffee machine. I put 34 for comfort because the heated flooring didnt seem to work, the tiles were cold. Perhaps I operated the thermostat wrong but the instructions referred to a dial but there was a panel with buttons, so just guessed what I had to do. The pillows were way too soft, when you lay your head on them they squash down to almost nothing. We could have done with some basic supplies such as sugar, oil, butter and teabags. Other than those fairly minor points this was an amazing place to stay, thank you!
Gerard
I'm sorry to say we just hated. ....that our wonderful week of relaxation, clean air, breathtaking views, and so much silence it hurt our ears, was over!! Appointed to a very high standard and spotlessly clean, underfloor heating that welcomes and warms you from the moment you arrive, simply Heaven! Love the hot tub, but cover can be a little heavy to replace if only one person my wife is disabled, so unfortunately can't assist!. But that's a minor point. Secure parking and electric charging facilities a plus, as we have a hybrid car. All in all, somewhere to unwind and recharge if life is hectic. This was our 2nd time, and we will return just like Arnie
Stephen
The settee that is in the property was a welcome surprise compared to the two chairs in the photo on the listing. It might be worth changing the wording on the listing regarding the EV charging which is basically a waterproof 13A socket,It caught me out as I was expecting a proper charger.
Really great property, stunning views, superb facilities. Only issues for me were finding it in the dark and would recommend flip flops for getting tofrom hot tub.
Absolutely speechless
Amazing property, comfortable with all amenities you could need. Definitely staying again
