Corner Cottage Reviews

Cathrin
Lovely cottage, clean, warm and comfortable. Only thing that would have made it better was a starter pack few logs, kindling for the wood burning stove.
Whether you want solitude or adventure, Corner Cottage is perfect for both. Situated in the quiet village of Troutbeck, at the end of a pub car park handy, it truly is rural. We found it very comfortable with all amenities necessary for an enjoyable week. It was very clean and wellmaintained. All rooms have an electric heater and the lounge has a log burner. There is a washerdryer in the conservatory with iron and board. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it to our friends.
Corner Cottage was a cozy accommodation, ideally located with spectacular views. Kitchen was compact and functional, bed was extremely comfortable as was the Living Room. Whole cottage was beautifully furnished and very clean. The views from all of the outside seating areas were stunning, during our stay the feeders were visited by a wide variety of small birds. Would definitely return in the future.

On arrival we noticed straight away how clean corner cottage was. We instantly felt at home and both agreed we would return here before our holiday had even begun. We have never felt that with any other property we have stayed in. The various seating areas outside were an absolute joy to spend time in and the birds were our best friends. The fantastic weather made this possible. Dont be put off by the small kitchen, it is well equipped and very functional. The bed is very comfortable and we slept so well. It was a real pleasure to return here every day after our long walks. We miss it already
Corner cottage was comfortable and well equipped. Although small, the kitchen has everything you might need to prepare meals. For two people, the cottage offers the perfect base from which you can explore the area. The bird feeders attract a wide variety of feathered friends, including occasional visits from a Great Spotted Woodpecker. Although situated at the end of the car park of the Mortal Man Inn, it was very quiet at all times unless the ducks were excited by something. We had at least 5 cats introduce themselves to us. They have a custombuilt living area for shelter when needed and were always friendly. The cottage has it's own parking area suitable for one car. My wife and I would very happily book the cottage again in future.
Lovely week at Corner Cottage. The cottage is very well appointed and ideally situated to enjoy some of the best that the lake district has to offer. We will definitely be returning!
Great wee place to stay in a very beautiful part of the Lakes. Comfortable and convenient base to explore from, right from the door or further afield.
Sandra
Absolutely amazing views from Corner Cottage. There are several walks that can be done without using a car. Cottage was clean with everything needed, even a bottle of wine and biscuits. The kitchen is a little small and can be difficult with two people in at once but we managed quite well. Would definitely recommend. We will be returning to this little gem.
A pleasant, relaxing stay in a comfortable cottage. We would certainly be happy to book the cottage again.
Daniel
Clean and quiet and fine if you are using as a base for exploring. Quite small, especially the kitchen, and at the end of a small pub car park. Had a problem with radiators and internettv, though the owner kindly came round to sort the internet. Rural location, but two pubs close by.
Beautiful cottage, stunning views and amazing garden, we loved our coffees in the garden on a morning. Also bagged 30 Wainwrights during our stay, Will definitely be back and soon to this fantastic place
A lovely wee cottage, quiet and peaceful despite having a pub at the end of the car park. The cottage is well equipped and comfortable. The kitchen is tiny but manageable once one gets used to it! It can be chilly at times but the woodburner soon solves that problem. We have been to Corner Cottage a few times, so it must be ok!!!
Another lovely stay, thank you. Managed 22 Wainwrights while here lucky with the weather.
Michelle
Amazing stay definitely going to rebook for longer next time
Wonderful cosy cottage in a stunning location overlooking the fells. Very close to the Mortal man pub. Would recommend to family and friends.Lovely garden with different seating areas including a raised terrace which was perfect for watching the northern lights . Mark and Julie

Perfect little hideaway for a week. Everything you need inside & lots to look at outside. Bird feeders encouraging so many birds especially lovely. Mortal Man next door is lovely & handy or walk across the field ten mins to Queens head.
Vincent
Exceptional, exceeded expectations across the board. We simply could not have asked for a more picturesque setting for our holiday. The garden was beautiful teaming with birds and my wife was especially thrilled to see the ducks that were homed just outside the drive. Particularly when she was allowed to feed them. The bed was comfortable, and the kitchen and living room were ideal for us. Also the ' Welcome bottle of wine ' was much appreciated! As was the ' Welcome Jammy Dodgers ' ! Highly recommended!

Lovely cottage to stay in a perfect location, have been several times no better recommendation than that.
This was our second stay. We love the property and will definitely return again.
A pleasant cottage, lovely views and peaceful. A very small kitchen but the gadgets are all hightech and useful. The wood burner is a great addition as sometimes the storage heaters are not quite enough for comfort. Would definitely stay here again.
Corner cottage was comfortable and cosy and highly recommended for two people who want to stay somewhere quiet but convenient for what the Lakes has to offer. Although the kitchen is small it has everything you need for preparing and cooking meals and we enjoyed eating in some nights and lighting the log burner, we had to provide all our own logs and kindling though. We brought our bikes with us and managed to store them in the porch. The bed was comfy and the heating was easy to control and kept the cottage warm and welcoming for when we arrived back after a day out in the hills. We didn't eat at the Mortal Man even though it is right next to the cottage but we did eat twice at the Queen's Head which took about 1015 minutes to walk to and was really nice.
We had our second lovely stay at corner cottage. Very well appointed cottage with good quality equipment. Excellent views across the valley and privateparking. The Mortal Man is only a few steps away. Thanks to the owner who's attention to detail and contact with us was appreciated.
We have just had the most enjoyable week at the corner cottage it is a delightful place cosy and warm, and very peaceful it has everything you could need or want ,it is at the end of a pub car park but dont be put off when we arrived the place was packed with birthday guests so we expected noise but no not a sound was heard from people or cars being moved . I would say you need peanuts as the blue tilts are very cheeky and will tap on the windows if the feeders are empty , enjoy your stay you wont be disappointed

A lovely wee cottage in Troutbeck and surprisingly peaceful considering the pub and various properties are close by. The woodburner is lovely and adds comfort to the lounge. The kitchen is very, very, small but the equipment is very hitech and once mastered does its job well.
Lovely small cottage, in beautiful location. Ideal accommodation for a couple, with friendly pub 'The Mortal Man', serving good meals, close by.

I enjoyed my stay at the Corner cottage very much. The surrounding countryside is spectacular and it is great for visiting lakeland beauty spots as well as plenty to explore on the spot . Because of the time of year, I couldn't sit out as much as a visitor in summer but the facilities to do so were excellent. Loved the bird feeders all around too as they were constantly in use.
A great retreat in a well equipped, clean and warm cottage, surrounded by beautiful countryside and scenic walks on the doorstep.
Comfy cottage in a very good location, albeit in a pub car park. Convenient. Well equipped and a tiny kitchen which was no problem.

Beautiful, cosy property made for a comfortable get away. Excellent facilities and decor. Loved the outdoor seated areas and the opportunity to bird watch from every window! Little touches made all the difference. Already thinking about our next booking.
A homely feeling to the cottage. Very clean and comfortable. The welcome gifts were a nice surprise. It was good to see all the fixtures and fittings, equipment etc are of a good standard. The direct contact messages were very welcome. Really enjoyed our first foray into cottage rental and we will definitely book again.
Lovely cozy cottage in tranquil position with beautiful views towards the hills from the front porch. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need, fridge microwave hob and ovengrill, all utensils etc. The bed was really comfortable and the decor gave the room a calming feel. The log burner in the lounge was an added bonus. The outside seating areas are lovely especially the raised patio at the back of the cottage.
