Ananda House Reviews

Miss Rachael
Heartfelt Home! Pure Bliss!!! We felt the Love and sincerity that has gone into creating such a lovely home! From the moment you walk in, the layout, quality of materials and complimentary nature inspired materials made all of us feel warm and welcome! Clean and ever so comfortable! Facilities carefully thoughout, everything we could ever need plus a few lovely surprises! Our Border Collie adores the home and garden and our 2 year Old Daughter was beyond happy here! The location was perfect and the stream that ran down the back of the garden to the sound of the owls at night was just another surprise for us! We will forver remember our happy memories from Ananda house and will be back sometime in the future! Thank you to the owners, cleaners and lakelovers for providing such a beautiful place to stay!
Great modern property well located and would definitely look to book again but unfortunately just let down by a few maintenance issues such as kitchen light switch not working and skirting boards in kitchen coming away from the wall next to back door. The property would also benefit from window blinds to give some privacy and make it feel more homely. Having said that we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday, thank you.
Lovely property in a really peaceful location. Perfectly placed next to the park which was great for our young children, but also just a short walk into Windermere centre. The house was like home from home, with everything you could need and the board games provided were very welcome. We really enjoyed the lovely garden, an added bonus. Would definitely stay here again.
As a person with a career that requires me to find faults with things, I usually spot loads of negatives and struggle to pinpoint positives well, that really wasnt an issue Ananda House was luxurious, practical, clean apart from under the sofa only spotted trying to retrieve dog toys, and well furnished. Nothing looked tired or shabby, nor did it feel like a show home, it was just perfect. As always, I plan for the worst, so brought oven gloves, tea towels, soaps, washing up liquid, bin bags, toilet roll etc etc none of it was needed, there was more than enough provided. The conservatory and garden were loved by our Labradoodle. The laminate floors downstairs did make him skid a little but made it easy to tidy up after him. And the kids took full advantage of the sofas and blankets and dont forget the wifi! So, the negatives, and these wont be a big deal to 99 of guests 1 the bathroom isnt designed for those of us who are horizontally challenged 2 the handrail on the stairs isnt long enough for my liking & stability 3 the smart tv spent 2 mins buffering 1 evening There you have it! Everything else was perfect, maybe even better than perfect. Normally when I arrive at a selfcatering holiday home I wash everything before use. But here, everything was actually squeaky clean!! Most definitely the best self catering holiday I have ever had. And I would love to go back if I manage to lose that extra inch.
Really enjoyed our stay at Ananda House, great location, house was clean with good modern facilities. Thanks we will be back

This is a lovely house in part oindermere. It has a shop within a 5 minute walk a park close by and the neighbours are friendly.
We have just got home from a week at this lovely property in Windermere. On arrival it was a bit of a surprise to find it was within a large development of houses, we hadn't realised that it was going to be so overlooked. The house itself was very nice, spacious kitchen, lounge and bedroom with a lovely superking bed with a very expensive and comfy mattress! The shower was really lovely and big, although we had to get into it sideways as the doorway is very small and we're not overly large people! No shower gel in the dispenser on the wall but not a problem as we had taken our own. Also no handsoap in the dispenser. The front windows were huge and didn't have blinds so to have any privacy we had to keep the downstairs curtains closed as people could look in and see us eating and or watching tv as it is light until 10pm. Probably not a ideal place if your dog is reactive dog. The kitchen was well equipped and had almost everything we needed but we couldn't find a bread knife anywhere so we had to go and buy one from the Lakeland shop in town. The garden was very nice, a decent size and perfectly secure for our 2 small dogs, we couldn't make use of it sadly due to the wet weather. The only issue we found was a loose paving slab that makes one of the steps wobble, second to the top one so that could do with being secured as it even wobbled with out 4kg dog walking on it. Parking was no problem as the property has a good sized driveway. Over all though, we thought it a lovely property and we would be happy to stay again. Thank you for a great stay.

Had a great stay at Ananda House, everything you needed clean and cosy, great location not to far to walk into bowness about 30 minutes, it was also handy to have the park over the road to walk the dog first thing in the morning, enjoyed our stay would definitely go back.
We are a family of 4 adults who stayed at Ananda house. Our experience was as indicated by previous guests, very well presented and comfortable stay. Close to Windermere and Bowness, we would definitely book again.
Our stay was lovely, the house has everything you need for a long stay. Beds are very comfortable, rooms and bathroom were spotless clean and the shower is absolutely amazing. Only downside was that the electric kettle was dirty inside, it had some kind of sticky residue that had not been cleaned properly in a while I think. We were not able to use it which was a bit of a challenge at tea time. But everything else was great.

Over all enjoyed our stay , the field close by was great for walking our dog. Really enjoyed meals and snacks at the mission cafe 3 minute walk away not to far to walk into Windermere. Only negative was the length of the grass on the back garden if it had been me i would have cutt it 1 off the flags on the steps up to the setting area is loses needs rebeding down. Over all enjoyed our stay.
The house was great with everything you could need while away. The house was in a great location to access the area and excellent local restaurants.
Ours was just a short stay unfortunately, flying visit to meet family. The house was very comfortable and we could have happily stayed the week ! Clean, everything we needed, and ideally located for our needs. Thank you.
Great location for pawrents with the files directly opposite and directly on the route into town

Was a very nice cottage with everything you need the owners have thought of ... Was a very nice cottage with everything you need the owners have thought of everything you may need the cottage is in easy walk of amenities

We had a fantastic stay at Ananda House. The property is extremely well furnished the bed is a full super king size and extremely comfortable, the sofas are great for cosy evenings and the general fit and finish of the place is lovely. Our dog absolutely loved the garden, which is fully enclosed so we had no worries letting him run around freely. There was plenty of pans and cooking utensils for us, and both the hob and oven are clearly very new and work brilliantly. The house is also positioned really well, it's a short walk down into the local shops and if your dog needs a longer run, there's a massive playing field straight across the road. It's in a quiet area and the garden would be a perfect place to sit out in during the summer to relax with a book or three! A couple of things which could be improved and to note The entrance hallway has a fantastic warm radiator but unless we missed it there is absolutely nowhere to hang up wet coats after a rainy walk. It would be great if the owner could add a freestanding unit by the radiator. The same really applies for shoes, if you go for long walks you'll likely get muddy boots which it would be good to have a small rack for, just to keep them tidy. The shower is incredible, however the gap between the wall and the fixed glass screen where you get into the shower is fairly small and extremely close to the extremely hot vertical radiator, so you have to be careful not to injure yourself when getting inout. We managed ok but might have been a struggle if we were larger! Would also have been good to have had more space to hang wet towels maybe a towel rail instead of the radiator?, this would probably have been more of an issue if there was more than just the two of us staying. Overall though, our experience of the house was great and we'd definitely come back again.
Maureen
Lovely property, close to amenities, warm and comfortable, however some essentials such as bread knife, tea pot, a decent tin opener and bigger selection of crockery would have been appreciated. There was minimal information regarding waste disposal. Somewhere to hang outdoor clothing other than 2 hooks in the cupboard would have helped as it was for 5 people. All in all a relaxing holiday, with a very good cafe, round the corner.
Ananda House is an absolute gem of a property. The house was very well laid out and equipped, with a good sized secure garden and driveway. The location of the property is perfect for a walk into Windermere village or down to Bowness for a stroll and lunch by the lakeside. Also perfect for a quiet getaway with plenty of walking routes and short drives to enjoy, with a large local park nearby as well safe for children and dog walks.
Joanne
Absolutely amazing, property was lovely, highly recommended definitely visit again
Rachel
Had a lovely week away the house was so jammed full of thoughtful items and beautifully presented. Only thing that would of helped would be somewhere to hang our wet coats. Would 100 come again
Stuart
Dog Poo and dirty plaster in the garden Grass not cut Eccentric cutlery gold everywhere! Accommodation immaculate Further from town centre than we expected Great park for dog opposite. Probably better location could be found!
Chi Jen
The best quality, cosy rooms with everything you need, even chopsticks. Definitely, five stars location to the lake and Brant Fell.
