Ingle Burrow Reviews

Brandy
We love Ingle Burrow. This was our second year staying and we already booked for next year. Spacious, cozy fire, light and airy rooms, comfy beds, well appointed kitchen!
Brilliant location, minutes walk to high street. Parking space at back of house was great as street parking full. Cute cottage with comfy beds. Only negatives were strong dog smell in living room and delay in Sykes response when question about property asked answer came a week after we had left.
Spacious 3 bedroom property with private parking ideally located in Windermere town within a short walk to all the local amenities.
Sharon
We had a wonderful stay at Ingle Burrow, the house is in a perfect location, near shops and places to eat in the centre of Windermere. The house is well equipped for a stay, with comfy beds and parking at the back. We would definitely recommend and hope to be back again soon.
Fabulous property in the best location only 2 mins from the centre of Windermere and with parking for 2 cars which is a plus. We had an absolutely brilliant time at Ingle Burrow and will be returning next year. The house has everything needed for a short or longer stay. The beds are very comfortable all with ensuite which is great. The kitchen has an awesome setup and has everything you need. The dog loved the enclosed garden and being so close to the park for his walks. Cant wait to return next year.
Hayley
The property was clean and tidy and had everything we needed during our stay. It is in a great location to shops and places to eat, and a short walk to Windermere. Will definitely be booking again soon!
Great location a short stroll from the town centre, off road parking was ample we have a 9 seat minibus so getting in was a little tight. Everything you could need utensil wise is in the kitchen. Terrestrial TV in livingroom wasn't available but was in the bedroom this could purely be the coaxial cable but streaming services are. House was clean on arrival and settee and beds were comfortable. Internet speeds are adequate, we didn't have any issue with buffering. Already planning returning to Inge Burrow.
Property let down by state of cleaning. Floors with previous occupants dogs and humans hairs in clumps in shower rooms, sofa covers need wash as got slime from previous dogs on them. Carpets clearly not thoroughly hovered. Cobwebs hanging in lounge. Lovely property and great location apart from that! We would visit again but would check if we had access to a vacuum cleaner first! Secure and free parking is a bonus. Bus stop at end of road which is really useful. Rooms nice and big. Overall I'd say the 4 night stay was a positive
Always lovely to stay at Ingle Burrow, it has everything we need for an enjoyable stay. The new kitchen is a lovely new addition.
Michael
No positive response from owners regarding broken bed frames in two bedrooms. They promised a maintenance visit on the afternoon we arrived, and on further occasions, but despite claiming a visit was made, nothing was repaired and I doubt a visit even took place. Other issues included shabby throws on the two sofas, and the front entrance path and rear patio were filthy. Much better places to stay in the Lakes. Sykes tried to help, but the owners did not appear to have any interest in putting things right.
In general the cottage was very nice but cleanliness could be improved but the one thing I would suggest is to improve the broadband as the only was way to watch tv was to steam on the smart tv but it played for a few secs then would stop and this went on constantly. For my mum to watch a 45 min show took 1h 50 mins
Cosy and homely property, very comfy and it was well equipped. We would be happy to book this cottage again given it's great location.
Excellent cottage, very well placed for Windermere cafes particularly Cafe Italia and The Mission Cafe Queen's Park. Bus stop at the end of the road which meant we could travel to major places by public transport no need for a car. All places we visited were dog friendly and there are two parks very close to the cottage for walks. The cottage provided a dog bowl and blankets. Only thing to improve better lighting suitable for reading in living and bedrooms. Thanks for a great stay.
Rachel
Our family of 4 and the dog thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Ingle Burrow. Lovely decorated with beautiful features, we felt at home. We had all we needed and the cottage was very clean. It was so handy for the buses and lovely walks on the doorstep. Just around the corner to the shops and restaurants of Windermere. With Bowness also within easy reach on foot where we enjoyed a couple of lovely pub meals. The parking at the back of the cottage was ideal. We really didn't want to leave!! Would recommend and hope to return someday.
Joanne
The perfect stay for our family of 4 and 1 dog. A cosy but larger than expected cottage.A beautifully decorated home with well stocked cupboards, comfy beds and fantastic bathrooms.A central location near shops and restaurants but a quiet retreat after a busy day. We enjoyed a circular ramble around nearby Grassmere with various lengths of walks. Go prepared with food and drinks. Plenty of restaurants and pubs to choose from and all meals were generous. The lake boat trip a must with several to choose from. This was a very relaxing break and we would love to return one day. Thank you

The location was excellent with the park across the road The lounge was really comfy and cosy but a better tv and more channels would be good The cleanliness was disappointing to say the least we spent our 1st hour on arrival cleaning the fridge the microwave the bath in the loft room and dusting the tv and the speaker in the dinning room The gardens need real attention there full of weeds and not nice for sitting in the slate crazy paving needs relaying in places as it is dangerous it moves when walked on causing a trip hazard The beds were really comfy in the double and single rooms but the king size bed not so Overall we still really enjoyed our stay in the lakes this is our 14th year and we hope for many more to come
Lovely cottage. Central location close to restaurants, shops etc.
Elizabeth
Had a lovely stay our party was smaller than expected due to sickness The house more than accommodated 3 of us and 1 dog. Very central location, very friendly locals, all you need at the end of the road. Having a car space was a bonus. My daughter stayed at the cottage some days to study for her A levels she felt comfortable there the large dining table became her desk. Beds are comfy and modern shower rooms meant we could all get ready at the same time.
Ingleburrow was perfect for our family group. Welcoming, clean and cosy. Plenty of space for shared meals. Settees really comfy and appreciated after a day out. Ingle Burrow so well placed we didnt use our cars at all, relying instead on excellent bus service from Windermere. Thank you.
Alyson
We really enjoyed our stay. Great location. Good to have off street parking.
The cottage was a very good size. The advert really sold on the fact that there were real fires so a bit of wood left would have been good or info on using. Location good, cleanliness was good.
Ingle Burrow is superbly presented and in an ideal location. It is evident that the owner takes pride in the property and provides first class accommodation.

We had a very enjoyable stay at Ingle Burrow, everything we could possibly need was there maybe a couple of logs for the fire would have been nice, the house is full of character and plenty of space, we loved all the Rabbits Ingel Burrow is in a brilliant position for the shops and buses and the main townwe may well be back again and hopefully next time it wont rain so much
Gordon
We would consider renting this property again. It was more spacious than others we have rented in Windermere, having the separate dining room, The super king size bed in the upper bedroom was great to have, although the towels could do with replacing. There were ample glasses, dishes, utensils etc in the kitchen. The sofas in the lounge could be more comfortable. Location great for close access to restaurants, shops and the park across the road for the dog.
Fantastic cottage in centre of village. Everything you could need plus more. Luckily we had daughter with us who could explain intracies of smart tv. Only one minor niggle. could you please provide outdoor broom or shovel for clearing fallings from apple tree as wasps found them very tasty.
We had a lovely stay at Ingle Burrow . A great place to relax and unwind at the end of a days walking or boating. The facilities were good and the accommodation was roomies than we expected.Having a tumble dryer was a great bonus after wet weather. There was a real home from home feel and we loved spotting the numerous rabbits hidden around the place. We would defenitely go back.
Jonathan
Very nice property, great having your own parking and the house felt large and comfy and well equipped. There is space across the road for dog walking, and shops for all you need just three minutes walk.
Monica
Everything is really perfect. . Wifi signal is good, hot water is always available, kitchen equipments are pretty much sufficient, bed is cosy, spacious parking Only 2 minor points in terms of area for improvement Better clarification regarding check out we don't know how to deal with the bed linens. Second point is that one of the windows on the top floor can't be shut.
Swap the kingsized bed from upstairs into the first bedroom? Lovely place to stay.
Rachel
A lovely, comfortable place to stay and close to shops and restaurants
Alexandrea
Had a wonderful stay at ingle burrow. The location for the property couldnt be better. Quite a couple of dog hairs in the dining room but to be expected with a dog friendly property. Messaged the owner about bulbs needing replaced half way through stay and she sent somebody out the next day. Thank you so much! Note to owner one of the knobs on the oven has a sharp bit of metal coming away which I cut myself on twice so might need fixing.
We all enjoyed our week in Ingle Brook Cottage. The cottage is located a few minutes walk from the town centre with its wide selection of unique independent shops and restaurants. To explore the surrounding area was easy with many walks from the doorstep and journeys by car and bus on the main routes. It is a wellequipped cottage with many little extras that are not often available in other cottages, especially in the kitchen with a wide selection of utensils and crockery. Parking on the property is available for 2 cars. Easier to reverse onto drive by driving up the back lane from the shops end. Dogs were also made welcome with blankets and dishes available.
Lovely cottage that we will definitely rebook perfect for families with dogs
Miss Nicola
Really lovely cottage . Gorgeous lounge area and fire . Perfect for the weekend we were staying with Storm Arwen ! Had to go and get logs which was fine but would ha r been nice to have some provided for the first evening . Well stocked kitchen which was fab . Gorgeous bedrooms and ensuite facilities . My only bit of feedback would be the dining area could be a tad less clinical but that is just my opinion and did not take anythibv away from what a lovely cottage it was . Loved all the felt and homemade crafts Thanks so much to the owners . Also I have left a grey white stuff sweatshirt , had this been found at all please ? Thanks Nicky
The cleaning in some areas of the cottage wasn't up to the standard that I would expect however this didn't spoil our holiday and we would deffinately stay there again. I would suggest providing more than one towel per person or advising that you may wish to bring your own towels. Ingle burrow cottage is a beautiful cottage and we had an amazing family, dog friendly holiday in the lakes, we will deffinately stay again in the future. Thankyou
Michael
Had a lovely week at Ingle Burrow and would return in the future.
Lovely cottage for a family, right in the heart of Windermere with easy access to everything and just a minutes walk to the bus stop that takes you all over the lakes. Lovely comfortable cottage, pet friendly and child friendly too.
The house is perfectly located for Windermere. Its large whilst being very cosy and had everything we needed for our family stay. For the price i would like to see better entertainment facilities. All of the dvds were scratched and unwatchable so when travelling with kids and stuck in on an evening it would have been nice to have something to watch. Also would have been nice for some fuel wood coal for the fire.
Carmel
